1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do/Did you keep your very first doll? Or will you sell it?

Aug 12, 2009

    1. I still have my first doll Ayame. I feel bad that she stays in her box most of the time but I would never sell her.

    2. My first doll was an Elf Ani from Luts, bought in two parts and both second hand. He was named Jay El Bate. I have since given him a gender bender and redid how the doll looks. Now, she's Annebelle (named so after my gram, actually). I've had this doll for well, this december'll be six years. She's a lovely buttery tone due to her age, although I have to finish scrubbing her down so her feet match the rest of her body. Even when my money was almost non-existent, I figured out ways to avoid selling this doll. Will I ever be able to sell this doll? Not anymore. There was a time forever ago I was considering it, and have the money go toward's Jay's upgrade, but now? Eh. I'll just buy another doll instead. XD

    3. My first boy isn't going anywhere. He rules the doll cabinet with iron-clad authority, gets first dibs on any new accessories that come in and generally basks in the glory of his own awesomeness at all times. He's been a permanent fixture around here for over six years, and will be for many more to come. ^^

    4. I still have my first doll! I was talking of selling her hypothetically, and my mother said "What?! You can't sell her! She was your first doll! She was your first doll!" So it looks like she's with me for awhile! ;)

    5. I still have my first doll so yes I do! I love my Yukie!

    6. I do. :D She won't go anywhere. :3

    7. Still have him, he's seven years old this month! <3 He was the first doll I ever fell for (KD Ani) and I still think he's the cutest thing ever ^^

    8. I still have my first doll and his floating-head brother, and they'll be two years old next month. Unless some company brings out two serious-faced long-eared elves in the 70-cm range (my ideal size for these boys) and gives me the option of tan skin, they won't be going anywhere.

    9. No, I've not sold her. And even though I'm new the hobby and Airi is only a little over a year old, I don't think I'll sell her. I've collected different types dolls over time and have never sold any. Not even those that I now have no interest in. So I don't think I'll ever sell Airi, especially since she was the doll who started it all. I met one of her sculpt (a nude) and fell in love with ABJDs. She was the first I saw and the one that stuck with me. I'll love her for a long time.

    10. My very 1st is a Volks MSD Kohaku. He's now retired, they stopped selling him last year. He's with me until the end.

    11. I've had my Oliver for almost 5 years and I don't plan on ever letting him go. He's part of my family and very dear to me! :)

    12. I have no intentions of selling any of my dolls. I reserve that for things I make because I know, if I really want it, I can make another.

    13. I don't think I could ever sell Allegra! She can be a brat but she's my brat.

    14. Nope! I've come to the conclusion that I'm utterly horrible. I didn't keep my first doll, or my second..., or my third for that matter! XD But all these failures to bond taught me a lot about my doll taste, and what works for me and what doesn't. c:

I actually ended up selling my first doll to a local friend, so I still get to see him every now and then. ^^

    15. My IH Harin Camille, I have thought of selling her a few times but always change my mind, I know I would really regret it. She is always my "go to doll" for meets or outing's. She's here to stay!

    16. Hell yeah! And I will never ever sell her. Hong has taught me more about this hobby and value than any other aspect or wiki essay. Though, I have a fantasy of setting fire to all my prized possessions when I'm old and toothless and nearing my death.

    17. I still have him and has no plans whatsoever on selling him. ^_^

    18. I'm not getting rid of my first doll. He's got a little too much sentimental value for me now. I don't think I could be rid of him even if he was smashed to bits.

    19. I still have my first doll, but am seriously starting to consider selling her. I've tried changing her style and face-up and doing photoshoots, but I just don't feel as inspired by her as my others, and so she doesn't get as much attention. :'<

    20. Yes! But then again, I've only been in the BJD hobby for a few years (early 2010). However, I know right away when a doll will work out or won't, so since she's been with me from 2010, it's fair to say that she's got seniority amongst my BJD crew and though I admit that I was on the fence about her when I first got her, now that time has past, she's definitely safe. I make decisions whether to rehome dolls or not within one month max of getting them.
