1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do/Did you keep your very first doll? Or will you sell it?

Aug 12, 2009

    1. I still have my first doll, and I don't think I'll ever want to sell her. She's very special to me. I also think she was meant for me. She's the reason I got interested in this hobby. Every time I look at her, I can't help smiling. :)

    2. Always. No matter how many new or pretty dolls I get in the future, none of them will ever inspire me to part with him.

    3. Always. He's a part of me now. lol

    4. I still have mine, but that's honestly because she's too beat up to sell. I don't have any more or less love for her than any of my other dolls (less actually, compared to some).

    5. I still have him and I will never sell him.
Selling him would feel like treachery to me :sorry

    6. I have his head still...though I sold his body. So technically I still do have him but he won't be the same first doll when I've finished him.

    7. I still have my first BJD and I hope never to part with him.
<--- Paul Sebastian, my Elfdoll Special K (he's in my avi)

    8. Maybe it is kinda weird since it is just a doll but i would feel bad... Like selling a pet, just because i have seen a cuter one. I prefer to buy the other cute doll/pet too. Maybe i would sell her when i become poor and i need the money to pay for my living.

    9. I still have her, and she's the cutest and most well-behaved doll I own. ^o^

    10. I gave my first one away to someone who wanted it not that I didn't like the doll. I just felt like didn't want her as much anymore and she should go to someone who would love her so to speak.

    11. Yes and no...

My technical 'first doll'- the one I bought first (though she was second to arrive) is a 5StarJi. She wasn't right for the character I had purchased her for so I tried several times to change her until ultimately giving up completely. After that she went to my best friend/roommate at the time.

Of course I'm very glad she did, because even though she didn't work out for her either, now she's out for a faceup and on her way back home again to me, finally having a character set aside and waiting for her!

So I suppose that- no, I didn't keep my first doll at first, but I did in the end!

    12. The only way I will be selling Atla is if I end up getting him upgraded to an SD doll

    13. Well, since my first doll is my only doll, I'd think so....

    14. my first doll was a bobobie 27cm march doll in lilac skin. after about 3 years i disided to sell her..but i sold her to my mom who wanted her so i can always see her if whant. my first "human" doll that had no elf ears or special resin color was my resinosul li. i would never sell her in a million years shes too special to me

    15. I did not keep either of my first two dolls. I grew out of them, so to speak, as I learned more about abjd. I don't regret any of my decisions as far trading or selling them to get other dolls; nor do I regret buying the first two as I enjoyed them when I had them.

    16. My first doll I will always keep. He's handsome no matter what he goes through. That and of all my boys (5...kinda) I dote on him the most and make him the most props an.d clothes

    17. Yes, I'm keeping my first. He's ten years old this month, and the hobby was much smaller when I got him, so I've always felt he was made just for me. I wouldn't trust anyone else to take proper care of him.

    18. My oldest doll is 2 and a half year old, and I bought my first doll in December 07, so yes I did indeed sell the first, and second and third... And many, many others. It took me a while to decide what I wanted in this hobby. I had to go through several ideas until I stuck with my characters from my story.
Can't say I regret any of it. It's been an interesting way to go, but I'm happy with my current dolls and don't miss any of the old.

    19. I still have my first bjd and i plan on keeping him.

    20. I never give my very firsts away and I won't ever sell my very first BJD. Never.
