1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do/Did you keep your very first doll? Or will you sell it?

Aug 12, 2009

    1. My first was an Elfdoll Ryung that I bought used in 2004. Her beauty still grabs me every time I look at her. Even though I have many beautiful dolls now, I don't see myself ever parting with her.

    2. I bought my first doll, Pipos Mac, just last year. Of course I still have her and have no intentions of ever selling her. :)

    3. Nope. I sold her to help me buy my dream doll. To me they truly are just things. I try not to have sentimental attachments. I feel they keep me from growing and branching out. Even if I didn't want the money I still would have sold her. My first year in this hobby what I want and plan for my doll family keeps changing. What I want from the hobby itself is changing. I only want dolls around that inspire me. And I don't want to be bogged down with numerous dolls that just sit around.

    4. No I will never sell my 1st doll because of all the memories.

    5. I havent gotten my doll yet but i spent 2 years watching him from afar and finally decided to buy him.. So i highly doubt ill ever let him go ^^...

When its my time to leave this world, i would want him to come with me too ._. ..

    6. I'm lucky that my first doll has been my dream doll, too - he defines my whole doll collection. So I'm definitely keeping him - he's been with me for 5 years now, and I guess he'll be around for quite a while. If it comes to that all my other dolls would go before him. I think even if I left the hobby, I'd still keep Ezra around, just for sentimental value :)

    7. Yes I still have her. She's an AOD Sara. She just recently got a new eyes, wig, outift and some shoes are on their way. I will never part with her.

    8. YES He's 4 years now (i think) and i plan on keeping him forever ^^ <3

    9. I still have my first doll. She's still one of my favourites. Sure she's yellowed but looking at her and playing with her brings me joy. I don't think I could ever sell her but then I've never sold any of my dolls.

    10. My first doll is my favorite, I don't think I could ever sell her!

    11. Haha I've sold all of my first dolls ^^'
But my taste for dolls changed. After a while I started liking dolls that looked more "realistic" and mature. So I think that's the main reason why I sold them.

    12. I still have her. she's turning 3, and to me she's perfect like the first day she arrived here. she's a Doll-Family Ella.
I don't play with her very much lately, because my taste in dolls has changed at least twice, but I'm not planning to part with her, because of the memories and because I still like her :kitty2

    13. Been two years now, I still proudly own her :') treating her to a new faceup as we speak for our 2 year anniversary. I am very excited though I know it's going to be painful not seeing her for a good month. Though I sincerely trust the face up artist and know she will be in good hands :')

    14. I've only been in the hobby a short while, and so far I have all my dolls still.
The first doll I ordered was the second to arrive, and I was not sure I'd like the first to arrive as much as the first ordered. I got two heads with the second to arrive, so the 'spare' head ended up on the first-to-arrive doll's body. So I suppose, if you go by sculpts and not bodies, that I have not "kept" the first-to-arrive's head as ordered since I've turned her into a him, who is waiting for his body (the third doll) to arrive. When the headless boy arrives, he'll have first-to-arrive's head on him and - oh yes - a fourth doll - a freebie tiny.
I don't dare sell any of my dolls or I will no longer be able to tell such an entertaining story!

    15. I think I'm lucky of having my favourite mold as first doll, so I NEVER will sell her, my dear MNF Shushu, she's going to "die" in my house hahahaha

    16. Yes ~ I did and I will always keep my very first Bjd!! :)

    17. Makenshi is here to stay forever. (Abio Angel Er) We'll be celebrating his 4th anniversary with me on November 5th! :D I believe he will be about 5 years old by then, since I got him from a friend. Though he was my first, he really changed my view of what I thought I wanted in this hobby. I thought I only wanted sad, angsty, tall boys...but he's 61cm and all smiles and sunshine and I wouldn't have him any other way! He always brings a smile to my face and lifts my mood when I'm down. :aheartbea

    18. Kazuma (Kid Delf Bory) is happily still with me :) He actually just turned 5 yesterday. He is most definitely my favorite out of all my dolls and I plan on keeping him for a very long time.

    19. I was one of the those people that said that I would never sell my first doll. I changed my mind quick when she didn't work as a character of mine. I didn't keep my first doll completely but kept her head and sold her body. Eventually, I will reshell that character once my life slows down.

    20. unfortunately I fell out of love with my first dolls face lol so I had to let him go... Luckily my friend really liked him so he went to a good home and i didnt have to pay any ridiculous shipping fees XD
