1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do/Did you keep your very first doll? Or will you sell it?

Aug 12, 2009

    1. After five years with Cesavier I have to say that I definitley chose the right doll and I still get just as much joy from him as I did when I first bought him. I'm also very happy with Seraphine, although if I was forced to sell one of them it would be her. I don't think I could ever appreciate and enjoy another doll as much as Ces.

I don't think selling dolls is some terrible evil thing though. A lot of people in this hobby are kind, careful people, so sellers can rest assured that their doll will probably go to somebody who will cherish their new doll.

    2. Oh yes, he's my pride and joy. I love the Dragondoll Uncle. <3

    3. I adore my Chi (DollZone-Mo). I loved him when I first saw him and I still do. The only thing I don't like that much, is his body. I'll buy him a new one, when I get enough money :)

    4. I defiantly will always keep my first doll she's precious, I'd sell my furniture and sleep on the hard ground and never sell her

    5. I'll keep ALL of my dolls. :3nodding:
So my first one will stay with me for all my live, too.

    6. I do still have my first doll, and I don't plan to get rid of him at all. I was honestly on the fence with him when I first got him, but once I redid his faceup and started fixing his wig, I fell in love and haven't looked back.

    7. i would never want to get rid of my first, shes too sentimental to me to get rid of her! the most i would do would be pass her on, hoping that whoever she goes to will love her and care for her everyday, and keep her as long as possible

    8. I've never sold a doll or have any plans to, so the question doesn't really apply to me. But if I ever found myself in a position where I did have to get rid of my dolls, my first doll would be the last to go. I'm more attached to him than any of the others. I don't know if it is sentiment, familiarity, or just plain he's the one I love the most. Probably a combination of the three.

    9. I still have my first doll, she's a DD Yukino. Sometimes I get frustrated and want to sell her because she isn't resin and doesn't pose the way my resin kids do, but I'd feel terrible giving her up after having bonded with her so well before.

    10. I sure did keep her! We just passed the eight year mark and she's snuggled up right next to me even as I type this! My SD13 Mimi is never going anywhere, no matter what. She'll probably get some maintenance work soon, but sometimes I just don't have the heart to do it because the way she's been for so long is so special to me. I thought of getting a new SD13 Mimi instead of potentially messing up on mine, but she just wouldn't be my Esme who's been with me for so many things in my life.

    11. Yep! Even though she's almost 9 years old, yellowed, and obviously a very old model of bjd (very simple joints)... I still love her~ ^^

    12. I'll be keeping my first doll. She has a lot of wear and tear because she was the 'tester' for me in this hobby and I don't think I could get rid of her. There is a lot of time and hard work put into her. : )

    13. I haven't had my first doll for very long but I can't imagine selling him even when he gets older :shudder. I see it as a fun challenge to keep him looking good, and even if he in the long run won't look brand new I really can't see myself letting him go :whee::aheartbea.

    14. I'm very easily attached and I honestly don't think I could part with my boy as I've bonded with him at this point.

    15. This was the same for me. I looked and looked for my boy KyKadian (Impldoll Charles) because I thought I was only ever getting one, and I wanted it to be special and loved for a long time.

He still gets thought of first when I go shopping, even if its for one of my other dolls (yes I was able to add on to my surprise :p) and I like to celebrate his "birthday" (day I ordered him) & his "gotcha day" (day he arrived home). I don't always remember the others.

I know, bad doll mommy!

If I ever have to part w/any of them, he would be the very last I would sell, but I would try not to let him go!

    16. Yep. Alice is still here and never going anywhere. But to be honest I don't think I could sell any of my girls lol. I don't get Alice out as much as some my other ones but when I do there's this nostalgic feeling (from like a year ago lol) or like seeing an old friend.

    17. I'm happy to say that I still do, even though it has been only 3 years since I first joined this hobby and got my first boy, a DOD Homme Ivan. I still remembered how I felt when I did my first box opening and held him in my hands. He'll always be special that way! ♥

    18. I keep my first doll mainly because of the sentimental reason. She is Volks Sara released in 1999 and she is pretty yellow now. I still love her because she reminds me a lot of good moments!

    19. Definitely. I don't think I can sell my 1st doll. He's too precious to let go.

    20. My fist doll was spoiled by another child, but I still feel some feelings for her and she is lying in the box.
There is no possibilities to recover her without any special things, so sometimes I think about burning her. - Boo!
