1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do/Did you keep your very first doll? Or will you sell it?

Aug 12, 2009

    1. Yes I still have him and I dont think I will ever sell him. 9 years and counting :D!

    2. I sold my 1st & 3rd doll, but like to think I'll always have my 2nd.
I just didn't "bond" with the other two.

    3. My first doll is my bae, I adore him

    4. I don't intend to sell my girl ever! I love her a lot and she holds a special place in my heart.

    5. I still have my first after the other six came to me. I don't think I could ever sell him! He's my main cosplay partner when I want to make a costume that I don't want to make on a human scale! :) We are totally stuck with each other! ^__^

    6. My first doll was a gift from my step daughter. It is a special gift I will always cherish.

    7. My very first doll was a gift from a friend, and she's still one of my favorites. She's a ResinSoul Yao!

    8. I can't imagine parting with him! He has been with me for two years, but I feel like it was just yesterdaythat he arrived home. He means a lot to me.

    9. Yes, I will keep my first doll :3
Because her is a gift from my dad and she's very important to me.

    10. I've had my first doll for going on ten years now, he's a Dollshe Hound, one of the old style ones. I can't see ever selling him, I'm just too used to having him around!

    11. I apologize if a thread like this already exists but I couldn't find it using the 'search' function.

      Hi everyone,

I know your first ball-jointed doll is supposed to be special but what if you're just not bonding with it like you have been with your other dolls? Have you sold your first ball-jointed doll or is it still in your possession? Why exactly did you sell it? Do you feel bad that your 'real' first doll is no longer in your possession if you sold it?

Tell me all about your experience, I'd love to hear about it.

    12. Hi~ Something to share ^^
My first doll is a DZ Nina and I got her without thinking too much about it.
After a few weeks, I found out about other doll brands and then... I discovered my grail doll... TDT"
I felt guilty at first but since I've only kept her for 2 months and there wasn't really any bond between us, its better to find her a new home.
So I used all the fund to get my perfect doll & kept my grail for 8 years long : )
Somehow I feel the grail is my real first doll.

    13. I did end up selling my first doll because I fell in love with a different size. I had a yosd (ltf luna) and after buying an msd (mnf mirwen) I decided I preferred msd, and I needed some money, so I sold the yosd. I also was finding it hard to shop for the yosd in the styles I wanted... way too much cutesy baby stuff for yosd when I wanted something a little more mature. ah well!

    14. I think I will always keep my first bjd. I was slow to jump on this train and so when I did, picked someone I really liked and still do.

    15. i will always keep my first girl as she was a gift from my parents and i just could not imagine selling her.

    16. I sold my first and second dolls because over the years my tastes have changed. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. My 3rd doll though, I don't think she's going anywhere! I still love her, she's an unpopular sculpt & discontinued, and she's yellowed in very weird, uneven patches (she's white skin). I'm not sure anyone would want her if I DID decide to sell her!

    17. The first ever doll I got was a DC Jodie, I didn't bond well and ended up trading him off later for a doll my brother is fixing up (doll I traded for is 10 y/o and super yellowed) however the second doll I got I would NEVER get rid of, she just means so much to me!

    18. My daughter gave me my first doll she is the reason i got into the hobby.Love the doll she gave me I would never sell her.

    19. I still have my first doll, a big boy that I love to bits, especially now that he is complete ! I've had him for more than two years and keep loving him more and more.

    20. I still have her but I have thought of selling her and then got too emotional to do so, I mostly thought about selling her because she came from a dodgy resin batch which I only found out once she yellowed and became mottled in appearance particularly on her face and she is shorter than I would ideally like.
