1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do/Did you keep your very first doll? Or will you sell it?

Aug 12, 2009

    1. I've only just got her today and can not imagine parting with her. she's perfect. I may feel differently is she yellowed i may just want to reshell her.

    2. I cannot imagine ever selling mine! I love her way too much!

    3. I didn't because I figured out that I don't work with SD dolls. So I traded him for a SOOM Kivi :)

    4. I still have my first doll , a Mir by Elfdoll, long discontinued. I do not believe I could ever sell him. I realized a while back that I have had him longer than any relationship I have ever had has lasted.

    5. My first will always have a special place in my heart ^-^ so I can't get rid of her ever

    6. I keep her and she's having a bit of revamp for wig and clothes. I wouldn't sell her for anything.

    7. I love my first girl she's a gorgeous Goldie from Peakswoods and SD sized. She's been a first for the owner before me too. I just love her little face I don't think I'd want to sell her.

    8. I have sold my very first doll because I have never seen BJD real life before her, and a jear sfter owning a doll I realised what exactly I love in BJD dolls, bought a new one, and sold my first) (my first doll was white skin msd girl, and I bought real skin SD girl) I do not regret at all)

    9. I only have two and I love my Doll Leaves Kiki the most still.

    10. I still have my first doll, a Customhouse Ai Soye. Bought her 10 years ago and I could never sell her due to sentimental reasons.

    11. I can't imagine I will ever sell my first doll! It gives me cold sweats just thinking about it!

    12. I still have my first doll, a kid delf bory. I love him but I want to change his make up.

    13. I still have my first now, but honestly, his head was a very spontaneous purchase along the lines of "I really want a BJD now! Oh look, this one is available and I like how it looks!"
I do love him, but now, after getting several more, I feel I like those more than him. I might sell his head if he doesn't find a set spot in my story.

    14. Well, yes and no. I still have the body but am selling the head. While I still love the doll as a whole I found an expression that better matches what I want for her.

    15. I intend to keep it. If I ever wanted to get rid of it I'd probably just give it away. It's pretty yellowed out.

    16. When I first got her, I couldn't have imagined ever selling my first doll...but I did. I swore I would never be one of these people, but...I got bored with her! I had given her such a specific, stylized character that I felt I couldn't change up her appearance at all, and that wasn't really any fun. Sometimes I regret it though...I follow her new owner on Flickr and it's really strange to see pics of my FIRST DOLL (who I still feel an instinctual protectiveness of) from someone else's photostream...

    17. I still have my first doll, my Chiwoo. *gestures at icon* He's my favorite and I would never sell him... though there have been some times when I thought about it for various reasons, I know in my heart I could never bring myself to actually do it.

    18. I sold my first two dolls. Though I feel a little bad about it I'm glad their new owners love them more than I could :< I don't think I can ever sell my Karis though, he is the doll that got me into the hobby :)

    19. I had a doll many years back and I deeply regret selling her. :/ I consider my current doll kinda like my new " first", and I will not make the same. Is take again!

    20. I'm currently thinking of selling my first, Dollmore Model Kyle Reese. I decided to reshell his character last year with plans to give him his own character. A year or so later and he still doesn't one or even a new name. For the past month he's been unstrung and in a box so I have basically been ignoring him all this time(actually even longer than that). Also I treat my second doll more like my first/favorite.
Still it's not an easy decision for me.
