Do doll owners dream of resin?

More than once I’ve had dreams about finding an old, neglected BJD at a thrift store, antique mall, or yard sale and taking it home with me. I always wake up so disappointed that it’ll probably never happen, haha. Getting a new doll cast just for me is great, but there’s something about a doll with a longer history that I find very appealing.

 

I once dreamed that my doll lucian came to life and he was over 2 meters tall and we started dancing xD
That was really weird but also funny in hindsight.

 

Ah good, I've found the thread again. Two nights ago I had a weirdly specific cameo in my dream that I could share here.
I don't especially remember what the dream was broadly about. Something stressful as always. Anyway, I remember for some reason I was holding my LR seven head (as it looks right now) which in real life, because of the bad weather, was one of the only faceups I got to do so far this year. Anyway I dropped it from standing... about 3.5 ft down and it clattered around on the ground and got all dented and Faceup of course damaged too. I was very sad and inconvenienced about it.

 

I dream about when it'll finally be shipped.

 

Occasionally I’ll have a dream that I’m at a craft store and somehow I run across a wall of what I can only describe as a Build-a-BJD. It’s a mix of heads and bodies and hands and extra parts in every size, color, and sculpt imaginable. In the dreams I usually spend hours trying to figure out what I want. The dream always ends with me deciding, shuffling through a clothes box, and before I can pay for them I wake up.

 

So, I have the weirdest recurring dream, in which I have probably 5-10 blank dolls in 1/8 - 1/6 scale. And in this dream I regularly forget they exist, then discover them in a box again, think they are ugly and regret all my purchases, but am unable to sell them for some reason. It’s like I’m haunted by tinies in these wacked out proportions and weird faces.

But the thing is I LIKE tinies?! Why is my subconscious brain apparently afraid of them?! It cracks me up xD

 

I had dreams about dolls in the past like buying one , opening one one dream years ago was that a store had opened in my town and had bjd dolls and I was in there like wanting to sell a kidney so I can buy everything in it lol , the more recent one was that I left a container of dolls to my moms house and she unknowingly placed it near the radiator and it was on and the dolls melted ughhh very weird dream the funny thing is that I reacted very well in my dream I was so cool with it (which considering the price of the dolls I doubt I would be in real life lol) I told my mom "Huh shit happens don't worry" and she was far more distressed than me so I hugged my mom and comforted her. I admired myself in my dream lol If something bad happens to my collection I hope I'll have the decency to react equally nice.

 

I was at work in the bathroom with Rio and I felt the cleanest place to put him was to balance him on top of the stall divider. Of course, this is a very bad place and he fell and broke off about half his fingers and toes. A former coworker and I spent 30 minutes looking for the broken pieces and I found at least one NS finger but not all of Rio's.

I dream about finding dolls at thrift stores or flea markets, I get so excited but after looking closer they are always severely damaged or undesirable for one reason or another.

 

I once dreamed that I went to a friend's house and asked if I could see one of her dolls. She refused and when I asked her why, she kept dodging the question! Luckily she showed me her doll once I woke up and told her about it. It was pretty funny!

 

Last night I had a dream I had accidentally started modifying/sanding a doll without wearing a mask and resin dust was appearing everywhere. I was so freaked out! I'm too chicken to do some subtractive mods I want to do so that's that I guess

 

My guests requested that I put my 6.5 foot moving and talking doll (Rio, again) away in his box because they felt uncomfortable. We had a very heartfelt goodbye with a long hug. He started growing stubble and turning a grayish tone as I put him away.

 

I dreamed that I received a Volks SD F-59/Saki in Sunlight... except she was MASSIVE. I'm talking Dollmore Trinity-sized. I've never held a Saki nor a Trinity before but the doll was quite lightweight. She also looked identical to a friend's (normal-sized) Saki.

In March I came down with a cold and had some fever dreams. I found some writings from then, and apparently I was feeling like a blog post about Volks dolls that was sandwiched between Java programs. You make sense of that one for me.

 

I dreamed last night last I was leading an army of dolls, armed with kitchen knives, against an evil dictator. They were all naked and unpainted, I don't think they had eyes even, and some were missing heads. They weren't intelligent exactly, more like robots or wild animals—I kept having to shout at bystanders "Don't fight them or they will attack you!"

We won in the end, so all's well that ends well, I guess!

 

I had a dream a few months ago that my dolls had formed their own government and had been recognized by the UN as a soverign state...

 

I've had dreams about dolls many times over the years. Sometimes it's about the stress of waiting on a doll to arrive, or them arriving but something is wrong..I've had a crazy realistic dream where I went up onto a rooftop terrace where all my dolls were living humans gathered at some sort of party. It was so surreal to be able to go talk and interact with them. I'll never forget that dream. I remember I got to hug my first two boys and it was amazing. Doll dreams are always fun.

 

Not usually… but i saw a new doll ad on instagram that would not leave me alone. I kept going back to look at him, He was too cute but i said no more dolls.. then he invaded my dreams for a week until i gave in and ordered him.havent dreamt of him since but mission accomplished i guess? Lol

 

I rarely have dreams about dolls but I've had a couple where my dolls fingers break (big fear). I had another one where I went to a shop and stole a lot of carrying bags... Omg

 

Last night I dreamt that my husband had gotten my dolls all new custom outfits, and had dressed them up while I was asleep to surprise me
The problem was that most of my dolls in that dream were vinyl dolls, and the outfits were black. So while my resins were okay, everyone vinyl got stained by the new clothes
However, while my real Dollfie Dreams were there, I had several other vinyl dolls in the dream. They were very short and stocky old men, wide and muscular all over, with a big belly and big hands and feet, so that the body basically looked cube-like, and they had small heads. They resembled kind of a fantasy dwarf or a buff Santa, about 40-45cms. And my husband had dressed them up shirtless in gothic styled overalls and hats.
He was so apologetic, and asking if the staining could be fixed. But I told him, eh, they look so cute that I don't ever want to take them out of these outfits

 

I've noticed this year that I haven't had any of the dreams I used to have about vast amounts of dolls in general, however I have had several dreams about wandering into a random oddity shop and being very excited to see and choose shoes for my dolls.
This last week I had a very mundane seeming dream (to an outside perspective) where I let somebody borrow Marina because they had asked about the type of body she has. I thought it would be better to let them hold and move her themselves.
