Do regular Volks SD13 high-heeled feet fit SD16 shoes?

Dec 6, 2006

    1. I just got the black boots from the NYC Dolpa today, and they fit my Feeple girl in HH feet, with a bit of squeeze.. the heel sticks out a little, but after a few attempts they worked.

    2. I have bought the H/Heel feet for my SD13 girl but she can't stand in the SD16 shoes unless you dislocate the balls of the feet :(

    3. I have the HH feet on my Suiseiseki (standard SD girl body) specifically because I wanted to use SD16 shoes on her as well as Garnet. I had to sand the area above the heel to achieve the correct foot angle for the SD16 shoes, but now she stands in them awesomely-- no issues at all.
I know it might seem kinda evil to sand HH feet, considering how hard they can be to get, but this was what I bought them for, heheh.

I don't have pictures, but basically if you look at the HH foot from the side, the rim around the top where the ball goes in has a curved, cup shape.
What I did was sanded the back of the rim above the heel, until the rim was almost straight and no longer curved (this is still looking at the foot from the side). I did not sand the front rim of the foot at all, only around the back.
If you do this, make sure you don't sand so deep as to go into the heel slot for the ankle ball. That would be bad. I stopped sanding a couple millimeters above it.

She can still stand in normal shoes with the HH feet too, but not quite as stable as with SD16 shoes. Any heeled shoe she does well in. I think KIPS in her ankles would solve any stability issues for pretty much any shoe.

Hope that helps! Sorry if it's a bit brambley, lol.

    4. So... What makes me, amberV and Starfighter unable to get our SD13 girls with HH feet stand in SD16 shoes without modifications - but gabriel has no trouble whatsoever?

    5. It's quite a mystery isn't it :sweat

    6. must be the devil's SD16 boots

    7. I'm sorry to hear that your SD13 girls (with HH feet) haven't been able to stand in SD16 shoes,
      though in my case I only ever bought one pair of boots from Dolpa 16;
these, as I stated above, did fit my girl - albeit very tightly - and allows her to stand in them.
(I can take photos, if you'd like.)

As to your question, perhaps certain SD16 shoe designs just don't work out for the SD13 girls, HH feet notwithstanding.

    8. Oh dear - I didn't mean to cast doubt on your veracity, gabriel! I do wonder what the difference in results are...

It might very well be the difference between one type of shoes and another - or maybe you are doing some small but significant thing differently with the doll or the shoes than the rest of us. :huh?:

I'd dearly like to know, though!

    9. Maybe Gabriel has been more successful because they were boots and it stabilized the ankle ball joint? I have an Amelia and her the heels on her shoes are significantly higher than the SD13 shoes that I have from Luts and Leeke. I don't have Volks high heel feet, but I have a Ciel with high heel feet and, unfortunately, my Amelia and my Ciel can't share shoes. :( However, they can both stand in the shoes intended for them - though, admittedly, Ciel's ankle balls have a mind of their own. I wish they could share - there are way more shoes available for regular high heel feet than for Volks SD16 girls.
