Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Do you bring your dolls to work?

Mar 27, 2011

    1. I bring a doll at work one time, because a few of my coworkers wanted to see the tattoos I have done on her. Aside this occasion, I never carry my dolls at work. What a strange idea!

    2. Not exactly to work but I have carried my littlest one (a Yo-SD) to the university a couple of times.
Once was because I was feeling a little anxious about an exam and I needed something to keep me calm. Knowing she was in my bag all the time, and getting her out and cuddling her while waiting between class and class really helped a lot ^w^

    3. @Yami_Hanako omg that's so sweet *-* you must really love them <3 I really smiled when i read that - it's soo cute ;)

I brought my doll to school with me too - First, when I was in college. My friend hated the doll though and so... it was a miserable experience. Then, to my university. Once I took my YoSD and everyone (even guys) loved it ;) The other time I took my SD boy and my MA supervisor liked him a lot as well :D She seemed rather mesmerised (and the idea of head+body hybridity reminded her of Shelley's Creature about whom I wrote my thesis and it was hard to explain that there's virtually no conection xD)

    4. I register patients at an urgent care and only a few of my co-workers know about my hobby but that is not the reason I don't take them. So the answer to this is No. I don't bring them to work for several reasons. I'm away from the front desk sometimes to register patients in rooms who are being transferred to the hospital and worry they might get stolen. Plus sometime people bring kids in and they get into everything. Plus if they were sitting in front of me and I needed to answer the phone I could see myself knocking my dolls over because they were in the way. Also I wouldn't want to distract my patients while I am trying to get my job done quickly. Sometimes I get multiple people checking in and out at the same time and need to get my job done fast.

    5. No if I did I wouldn't get any work none.

    6. No, I work in retail. My doll would most likely be stolen by the end of the night.
Also my co-workers don't know me outside of work either. *_*

    7. I took my big guys to my work 3 or 4 times. First time I did it because my colleagues who know about my hobby wanted to see what is BJD. And all other times I used the place of my work as scenery and made some photos for the story of my dolls.
I am senior lecturer at University XD

    8. One of my bjd friends actually works with me, and we've both brought dolls to work once in a while. I'm pretty sure most of our coworkers think we're pretty weird! It's easier to be weird in a group, though -- however small. :)

    9. Yep, as a photography teacher the dolls work great for helping my pupils understand light, poses and angles.

    10. I wouldn't mind bringing any to work- if it weren't for the fact that it's rush hour almost all the time and someone with greasy fingers would probably manage to get to them...

    11. Oh my goodness I'd imagine you'd need to bring a little friend in! I can't imagine that being a low stress job!

    12. I bring my tiny with me if I feel a bit lonely or sad. Having it secretly sitting in my bag and knowing it's there helps me, even if I don't look at it. I once played with my Puki when everyone had gone home and I was the only one left. :)

    13. I couldn't bring my doll to work with me, it might get hurt being in a warehouse setting.

    14. I would love to bring a doll to work but having a 70+cm guy sitting on my desk isn't very professional in front of clients, haha. Maybe when I get MSDs or YOSDs I can try to smuggle them in. ^^

    15. Back when I had a dedicated office I often had a doll on my desk, but for the past several years I've been 90% mobile (meaning I usually work from home), so while I'm still working with a doll on my desk, they haven't technically been brought to work in the traditional sense.

I do have a few co-workers who will ask to see which doll is on the desk during video conferences sometimes though, so that's always funny.

    16. I have taken dolls with me to school (college) and work. At work I usually can't have them out, but sometimes it's nice knowing I have one with me even if they are crammed in the locker with my purse all day :nowords:

    17. Sometimes I take oneof my dolls to work, but only on saturdays. Then I'm alone and their safe to sit where I can see them all day. It's nice to have something familiar with you, on special saturday duty.

    18. once on "Karneval"- its the German Halloween so to say, I took a girl to the office and she wore the same outit as me. We went as witches. It was funny and my collegues wondered who was sitting on my desk

    19. I do occasionally xP when I'm able. There's no shame in that, the dolls don't bother anyone and I can always fiddle with them when I catch a moment's respite.
