Do you bring your dolls to work?

Mar 27, 2011

    1. I absolutely do not bring my dolls to work, because I'm a dog handler and my coworkers and I often have anywhere from 1 to 3 or 4 large dogs playing in our building, and they're all big, goofy Labradors who like to chew and knock over everything in sight. :sweat It would be hazardous for my dollies!

    2. I have a couple times, but usually just my tinies (Yo-SD sized and smaller). So far I don't think anyone has noticed when I have, but I work near a creative team, so they're used to odd things.

    3. I sat at a desk all day so I often brought in one of my dolls. Most everyone was pretty intrigued by them and I always made sure they were in a safe place if I had to leave.

    4. Nope, I don't take any of my dolls to work... I do work an office job, but I doubt my superiors would want anything on my desk, let alone a doll... I am a secretary at a corporation, so I am the first thing most people see when they walk in! A bit too public for the dolls (Not to mention the giant windows right in front of my desk...)!

    5. I actually purchased a doll from a coworker once, so I guess bringing your doll to work is okay, depending on the environment.

    6. I actually have a bit of tradition of taking dolls in to work for Halloween and making a bit of a display...

This one's from a couple of years ago. :)

I work in a locked office area that's only accessible via swipe card, and I've known everyone there for years - so I know the dolls are safe (and they certainly make a great talking point!).

    7. Since I work with kids, I don't bring my dolls on Weekdays since I'm afraid that they might fight over in taking turns of my dolls (not even my family is allowed to touch my resin boys) So I bring them on Saturdays and if I have a office sched on Sundays.

    8. I doubt my boss would be okay with it actually, I think he would say its unprofessional :( However, if I was going to I think I would only bring in a small one say 11cm so it didn't attract attention

    9. No I would not bring my dolls to work. I work for the Blood Bank and there's no place for a doll in a clinic.

If I worked a desk job and had my own cubicle, I'd consider it.

    10. I think my workplace would respond pretty well to a doll. I work in hotel reception and the staff have collectively adopted a stray cat who comes and goes as he pleases. He's very friendly with the lodgers and everyone loves him. The joke is he owns the hotel. But I wouldn't bring my dolls because they would distract me, get lost, stolen or damaged and they're personal items for my home life. I don't see the need to share my personal hobbies with everyone I work with.

    11. Nope. I work in an animal clinic and there's really no place for dolls there, unless I wanna risk one of our team dogs chewing them up. Which I obviously don't want. Customers bring in a steady stream of foreign object surgeries as it is.

    12. I cannot imagine bringing my doll to work, mostly because I don't want curious coworkers poking at him and I'm not sure if I want people to know about my BJD hobby. If I have to I would bring him in a case and keep him in it the entire time.

    13. I bring a doll to work with me sometimes. In fact, I brought my Zaoll Luv with me to work today. ;)

    14. I have tons of other cute things on my desk. I could totally bring my doll there and it wouldn't be a big deal to anyone. I just don't have any reason to bring her back and forth though.

    15. Hmm... I've brought dolls to my office before, but only because I was visiting my boyfriend for the weekend straight after work. They have been in the office, but always zipped up in my bag/luggage, so nobody even knew they were there! As I work for a law firm with some big-name clients that come by every now and again, even if my own bosses are ok with it, I doubt that their bosses would be. :P

Still, it's kind of comforting knowing they're in my bag! If I worked for a less formal office, I would definitely consider bringing them out sometimes. :)

    16. I'm a housewife so my dollies are always at work with me lol. When I was in school, I used to bring a tiny or two with me sometimes. I never brought a doll with me when I had a job though, my desk was always completely covered in paperwork so there wouldn't have been any place for them.

    17. Not really... I'm afraid they'd get hit by a nerf dart. There is a lot of silliness in our office.

    18. I have, but they stayed in my handbag. I just wanted to show a friend once and it was my tinies at different times. I brought my little Francie with me a few weeks ago. Long story, but my employer sold the parking spot that I already pay for...... so I had no place to park for this one day due to some sort of special football game. I had to ride the city bus home, which frightens me. I really, really like routine and familiar people. So this whole situation made me feel really nervous. I keep my composure, but I thought it would be helpful to have Francie with me in my handbag that day. It was good. I could peek in at her on the way home and it helped me feel 'okay'. No one was the wiser. :) It reminded me of bringing my childhood doll with me to the dentist as a child.

    19. I know that I couldn't, I work as a custodian at a school. Dolls and kids who don't care about other people's things don't mix lol. And I am on the move a lot when I am working, I would worry too much about them to get any work done..:sweat

    20. I wouldn't take my dolls to work, I work in retail so I wouldn't be able to. Plus I prefer my boss and coworkers not finding out about my weird hobbies
