1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you bring your dolls to work?

Mar 27, 2011

    1. My job is ideal for bringing in dolls. I've even brought in both Zenith and Frankie in the past. I have a desk job as a communications assistant on phone calls all day. All I do is caption voices I hear, which gives me a ton of free time. My Zenith comes in with me quite often, and usually keeps me entertained on really long calls. We read tarot cards together, or I'll put him in casual poses. My supervisor has seen him and finds him really unique and adorable. It helps that she knows Zenith is very therapeutic for me to keep around. He isn't harming anything by being on my desk all day, and the cubicles where I normally sit are pretty secluded from too many eyes, so I'm not worried about keeping him out.

If anyone did know what he was and wanted to steal him, a quick complaint to the management will have them looking at security footage. Most people who have seen him, aside from my supervisor, are more freaked out than anything. (Guess it doesn't help that I make Zenith stare at them sometimes if they are sitting across the aisle from me.) So theft is a fairly low concern.

    2. I probably could, I work as front desk at a hotel, but honestly my boss is an awful rude jerk! She'd make fun of me all day. She already says I look like a serial killer cuz I bring stuffed animals to work :/

    3. I've brought mine a couple times to work, mainly cause I was telling my coworkers about bjd and they were interested so I offered to bring mine in for them to see. My boss has a collection of vintage porcelain dolls so she really liked my dolls lol

    4. I am really too afraid to bring any of my guys to work. I have tons of heavy binders on my desk, and some of my colleagues are a bit rough with stuff. I think they would be delighted indeed. But as I am a parttime worker, I have not the time to play around a lot anyways (I get the same amount of work done in a shorter time than colleagues who work 8 hours or longer). So for these reasons, I think the crew will stay at home.

    5. I never bring them because 1/3 dolls are heavy and I am afraid of damaging them :( But keeping them at work can make you happy

    6. while my workplace is not very suited for dolls (i counsel students, and i'm sure they would be very distracted by my dolls) i have brought my boys to work a couple of times!

about a month ago i was going through some emotional duress and my parents were vacationing, so nicky was the only one keeping me company. there were a couple of days where it was hitting me really hard and i couldn't bear to leave him at home, so i brought him in a tote bag. i didn't take him out of the bag, but just having him near me was very comforting and made everything a little easier. the other time was when we were recarpeting my house and i didn't trust the furniture movers with my resins, so they all came with me to work!

    7. I work full-time at a small feline-exclusive veterinary clinic. While I don't bring my dolls to work (the clinic cats would be ALL UP IN THAT), I do have all of my doll-related packages sent straight to work as opposed to my apartment. This way, everything gets brought straight to my desk. You can't beat that!

    8. I work at a restaurant, so no.

    9. I work retail and I brought my boy with me once. That was because I had brought him with me over to a friends house beforehand, and I didn't have time to go home. He stayed in a locker the whole shift. He freaked out one of my co-workers, but I got far too many nasty comments from others to bring him back on purpose. I would however bring him to my university, and I do plan to bring him with me when exams start, as I do have permission to have him with me during that time!

    10. When I get a minifee or mdd, I might put them in my bag, but I work at Starbucks and my co-workers might be freaked out xD

    11. It fascinates me the number of people who can bring a doll to work. It would probably result in a disciplinary meeting if I did, lol.

    12. Same for me. Though with all the kids running around in would be afraid they would break her.:aeyepop:

    13. omg no, I work at a major theme park... the most I could do is stuff one in the locker and hope no one takes him, since I lost my lock years ago. and everyone at work would think I'm super weird too lol. although since we get thousands of ppl a day where I work I'm sure at some point someone would recognize that it's a BJD and might strike up conversation.

    14. No because I won't want other people touching them and crowding me wanting to see them I and not a fan of groups of people x-x or attention.

    15. Haha this is a cool thread I used to bring my doll to work but not anymore

    16. My off-topic therapy doll comes with me to work most days; but, since Gamestop doesn't allow products we don't sell to be set out on the counter, she just sits in the back with my purse and other goods. I try to keep her somewhere where she won't be knocked around or cause any problems and, other than her large bust being apparently hilarious to my boss, no one has any problem with her.

    17. My little pukipuki Cupid comes along in my pocket when I have to drive escort for the high load trucks. He stays there, except for when we get to a hotel on overnight jobs, then I'll take him out to take a few pics and sit him next to my bed. He's definitely the most well traveled out of my crew lol

    18. I work in a typical office. The culture is relaxing and not up tight but I don't think I can bring any dolls to work. I'm sure my co-workers already think I am weird enough. :dance

    19. lol.. i own a second hand/consignment store.. so YES i take them to work.... People LOVE them...

    20. I would always bring my girl every weekend to work. My co workers really loved seeing her, especially when she comes with a new clothes. I work as a call center agent and I sometimes get stressful calls from customers. She makes them go away by just sitting cute and pretty on my desk. :D
