1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you bring your dolls to work?

Mar 27, 2011

    1. I haven't done this, probably won't ever take them to work with me either. My clients (small children) would probably love them but I'd be too worried about them getting damaged. My colleagues often ask what I am up to, and what I have been making lately and they seem to be interested in heating about my latest doll adventures

    2. I've taken a tiny off-topic doll to work before to work on her clothes (we have a lot of downtime some days and hand-sewing is a nice way to pass the time) but I honestly couldn't imagine bringing an expensive bjd to work for any reason... too much risk. Plus, any bigger than 1/6 just seems like a hassle to tote around.

I still sew for my bjds at work, I just size them and stuff beforehand...

    3. One of my jobs is helping my sister run her store so, yes, I do bring my doll to work when I want to take more involved photos of her. My bedroom is too messy and crowded to do a photo shoot in lol. And the back room has lots of space for me to put together backdrops.

    4. Since I work at a job where I can keep an eye on him, I brought Kai with me the other day. We’ve been busy, so I couldn’t play with him much, but it was nice to have him with me.

    5. I have two tinies on my desk. Nobody knows their value, and we're a company that values familiarity and decency (we actually had to sign a good behaviour agreement), so nobody would ever dare. They also know I don't respond well to any degree of transgression. Went full WSHH for less.

    6. No, and I'll never do it. I work attending all kind of people (50-60 different persons everyday) and I think it wouldn't be practical.

    7. No, I don't want anyone to touch my doll. I think there are many chances that my doll can broke.

    8. I would NEVER take a doll to my current work. Partly because I know she would get stolen, at least as soon as it was known how much she is worth, and partly because there are ZERO nerds at my work, and they would not understand a doll. My love of books and anime has already made me a bit of outcast. I can only imagine what a doll would do. That and at a fast food place, I wouldn't really have a good place to put her where she would be safe from dirt or breakage.

    9. I only brought my smaller size dolls to work. They make me feel "happier" or more "positive". They are always around me, and never leave my side. But usually, they are home.

    10. I work with the public so I really wouldn't dream of it! Ha ha ha I literally had a customer snap my name stand in half at my office to "See how strong it was" >n> I shudder to think about bringing a doll there!

    11. Nope... I can’t... I work in an office and my boss is very strict :(

    12. Honestly I am shocked at how many people are able and do bring in their dolls to work. I have never even considered it as I tend to keep my hobby under-wraps. I feel really encouraged by people who do and totally understanding of those that don't. It overall is still really inspiring and eye opening at how honest people can be about their dolls. Thank you for sharing!

    13. I wouldn't cause i work at an ice cream shop. Im thinking of taking one to my university though or maybe just to a small, quiet cafe with friends to introduce them

    14. I do. But I work in an office, I don't have contact with the public and I'm the only one in my room. Plus my dolls are tiny ones (Pukifee, Lati Yellow...) so they are easy to carry around. One for each day

    15. No way!! I work at a car wash so they would get wet and filthy within minutes. Even if I worked somewhere else, I'd be really worried something would happen to them.

    16. Never. I work with children with developmental disabilities and nothing is safe from destruction.

    17. I bring My doll to school.sometimes.

    18. :kitty2Sometimes I bring my doll to my University.

    19. I work at a comicbook store but I don't think I would ever bring my dolls to work. I bet some customers would ask if we sell them and that could be troublesome

    20. No. I manage a restaurant and it wouldn't be practical. Getting the food smell out would be absolute hell.
