1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you bring your dolls to work?

Mar 27, 2011

    1. I do, sometimes, then they will be sitting on my desk, or in case of the little one, standing around on my desk. I'm in a mainly men kinda office, so they kinda eye them wearily. :P

    2. I've taken Rose to work with me before. She mainly stays in my bag in my locker. I also took Yue to my old job, again most of the night she was bag bound, I only took her out for a few minutes to take a picture of her on a table.

    3. The job I have now, NO WAY. I'm on my feet all day out and about. Even if I brought him I'd never see him because he'd stay in the IT office but anyone can walk in there so I'd be super afraid of him "walking off". If I had an office job or something like that, maybe. He would be nice to look at and maybe play with on break. I wouldn't really be worried about what my co-workers thought. I brought him to my previous job (which while still IT was a lot more sitting around) and the only problem I had was that one of my co-workers was severely creeped out by dolls and I freaked him out.

    4. My puki puki has gone to work in a felt pouch in my pocket several times. Occasionally I pull her out at lunch, but some days she just stays tucked in my pocket. She keeps me company just cause I know she's there. :)

    5. I'm retired so I don't work but if I did I certainly would take one to work. Long before my BJD days I had my 12" Star Trek Geordi and Riker action figures with me back then:). I sat at a desk most of the day and enjoyed their company.

    6. Yep, I've taken dolls to work several times. Mostly tinies, but the day I got my DDS Mariko I brought her with me (she arrived *just* as I was leaving and I didn't want to wait the whole day before I got to play with her!) >w< My Aileen Doll Seed Percy is very good office assistant too! :XD:

      If my co-workers are bothered by them I'd leave my dolls at home, but my nobody's said anything yet, so I keep sneaking them in! XD

      I've even thought once or twice about getting a doll just to live on my desk and be my work-buddy!

    7. I often bring my little dolls to work with me. No one at my office notices much since I work the graveyard shift.

    8. I definitely wouldn't take any of my dolls to work on account that most people would laugh at the concept of taking "dolls" to work. I live in a big metropolitan area that still has that "small-town" mentality, and there is that prevalent belief among the older population that anime and dolls are only for kids. So, no. I wouldn't take them to work.

    9. I take my tinies to work with me sometimes and just let them hang out on my desk while I work but I kind of hide them at the back under a shelf because my boss would give me hell for it.

      At work right now. :)

    11. I like to take mine to the office with me. People like to look at them and I feel safe since there's a wall between the clients and me so I can place one of my boys behind me. I usually get good comments about them and I've never heard a that's creepy or weird from people. I do get people doing a double take because they think it's a real person until they realize how small they are.

    12. Nope. Internet already serves as a distraction for me. If I have one of my dolls on my desk it would be hard for me to focus on work. The only time I had my doll with me was when I was going to a con right after and he never got out of his carrier.

    13. /ashamed xD

      I do bring my doll to work but he just sits in my locker because it's not an office job or anything where I could have him sit on my desk all day. I'm running around like a chicken with it's head cut off for eight hours but when I take my break, I can feel less alone.

    14. I sometimes bring them with me. My colleagues know I collect them, so they're very respectful. <3 I've never had any problems with people touching my dolls when I've brought them anywhere, though once a woman on the bus was convinced I had a little dog in my bag.... xD

    15. I take to work once one of my dolls, to take out a screw (as they have a lot of tools) when I took out the wig, they were told she looked like a child with cancer. o.o;

    16. I do bring Lenore and Ryu to the office. I set them on my desk flanking my monitor. They stand there and stare at me while I work.

    17. I move a lot from place to place during the day, so I can't carry my doll everywhere. Also, I'd be afraid to leave her alone in the office while I teach some where else.

    18. I'm in school right now, and I would bring them because I'm afraid that they might be damaged. Also, I think that most of my classmates would think it's creepy. I would love to bring one with me though.
      When i get out of school I doubt that I would be able to bring one to work, because I will most likely work in a clinical lab, where the doll could be broken or get dirty.

    19. I bring mine occasionally. I love when I bring them because if I get stressed out I will just zone out and give them a little attention. But usually I am so busy that they just sit on my desk and watch me work.

    20. I'm a full time nanny for a special needs little girl who just recently turned two... And she has a jealous pet dog that destroys things your holding to get attention. Bringing my dolls to work is not even an option. O_O;
