Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Do you bring your dolls to work?

Mar 27, 2011

    1. I used to work in banking, and usually had my dolls delivered to my office since I spent business hours there. My employees and co-workers thought they were pretty interesting, and loved seeing me open up the boxes and squee with me. I even took my old Yo Kun for Valentine's day all dressed up and arranged her on a platter full of chocolates that I bought for the branch. They were all very supportive :)

I knew a girl who worked for the TSA and she made a uniform for her boy and took him to work with her a few times. Gotta have fun somehow right?

    2. I don't but you have inspired me to take my little girl to work with me. :daisy

    3. Yes, I'm a CNA and share with my coworkers the artistic side of the hobby and how I make clothes for them or do face ups. Most are thrilled to hear updates and such. So occasionally I'll bring a doll or two for them to see in person. They love getting to see them up close :)

    4. Wouldn't be a good idea for me. I'm running back and forth all day, so they'd be left unattended on my desk. Plus it's dirty where I work. I'd rather keep my dolls safe at home~!

    5. I'm lucky enough to work in the art industry, so can bring my kids whenever I want. Usually, it's just to show a student who hasn't seen a BJD in person.

Most of my kids are giants, so it's hard to lug them around, but as I'm getting a new tiny (maybe two), it should be easier!

    6. Right now I'm feeling very privileged that for the past year, dolls ARE my work. I get to play with dolls all day long! It really helped me to get invested in the face-up side of the hobby more; I'm actually doing things with them again :).

    7. Yes, I occasionally take a doll to work with me. I work as a security officer, and my supervisor is a good friend who used to be a beautician. My dolls come to work with me so they can have their hair done! People have perhaps been a little surprised to see a doll at a security post, but every one has been very friendly and supportive of my hobby... and it is how I learned that there is another doll owner in the building.

    8. I work at a restaurant, so that's a no go haha.
But I have brought Honoka to school, and that's pretty much work ^.^ we had a project on how things are made, and we weren't allowed to use the internet for information. So I chose BJD's, and brought her in as a example :D my teachers commented on how cool she was, and my classmates, well I'm not 100% sure what they thought, but who cares?

    9. It would really be inappropriate bringing my BJD's to my workplace so I guess my answer would be no.

    10. YES!! I would definitely bring my dolls to work if I worked in an office but I work in childcare and I'm deathly afraid that would damage the dolls :atremblin

    11. I bought one once. My coworkers were curious about the project I was working on.
After they saw it my girl stayed in her carrier bag the all time. Couldn't bare the thought of something happening to my dolls.
Anyway, when it's time to work I don't want any distraction. My dolls are at home where they belong :)

    12. I just got my first doll a couple days ago but I don't plan on taking him to work because I would worry something would happen to him plus he would distract me.

    13. Nope, I like keeping work seperate from hobbies. Mainly because I don't enjoy work and I wouldn't like to associate my dolls with it. Haha that sounds strange but it makes sense to me [emoji14]

    14. Nope haha, i work in a call center and i would never bring my doll there!
And even if i wanted to, it's not allowed to place personal thing on our desks.

    15. I used to work as a packer in a factory, so I worked near the delivery area, I had few parcels delivered for me there and it was great. Since then I've switched job to work in a clean room area in a factory, I don't bring dolls to work if I'm not going to a doll meet afterwards. Some of my workmates wanted to see some dolls, so I brought few for them to see. Mostly they think dolls are cool and they think sewing clothes that tiny is difficult.

    16. No. And will not do. I DID receive my doll here at work because I always give the office adress for delivery since I'm not home during post office working hours. And I did show her to 2 girls that work with me, one of them because she's nice and I always share with her, and the other because I knew she collects porcelain dolls, so I thought she might be interested. That's the furthest I will go, however, I will not bring any doll to stay on my desk, or show them around, because that's just the kind of place where I would be told I'm being immature and so on. :(

    17. funny question ! :))) I work at home, I'm a comics maker... So, my doll Caelin is always with me :D And I'm looking for a carrier bag, in order to bring her with my at conventions ;)

    18. I work in a lab with chemicals ranging from Hydrochloric Acid to radioactive. The doll is not coming close to my work. But, she does sit by my desk at work so when I'm working on my writing and comics she gives me some inspiration. :)

    19. Yes,I have. However I have days where I am completely alone, so I have nothing to worry about if I leave one of my boys sitting on my desk.

    20. As a college professor, I'm not sure how professional that is!

However, I wouldn't mind bringing one to set on my office desk for the day, just so I can see her smiling face while I take care of the "paperwork" sie of things.
