1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you collect furniture/props or room settings for your dolls??

Oct 15, 2008

1. Oh, man. Wanting to save my money for a second doll is probably one of the few things keeping me from going overboard with props for Agatha. (The other being space, but it's so damn tempting regardless.)

See, Agatha is a steampunk mad scientist, so I keep wanting steampunky, science-y things for her. I do have a bug clank that a friend made for her, but so far beyond that there's not much I have for her in that vein. Which is a good thing, because I'm afraid if I start too much I may just get eaten by the prop potential. I actually have found some tiny beakers/erlenmeyer flasks on eBay, as well as some potential test tubes, and someone on here has some lovely little Victorian-esque "medicines" that I'm finding incredibly tempting.

But those props are too awesomely esoteric to keep hidden in a drawer, so then I would probably want some sort of 1/3 cabinet to put it all in. And that would then demand a proper lab bench, and maybe some kind of "monster slab" for Frankenstein-esque experiments. That would in turn need something that at least *looks* like a Tesla coil, but that then increases my temptation for a *real* mini Tesla coil. . . It's all making me wonder if maybe I was a mad scientist myself in another life. XD

So, while I've so far resisted the siren call, it's partially because I know just how crazy I could get with all of it.

2. My dolls as soon as they come inspire me to make them a home :D
This could be dangerous thTugh! their numbers are increasing :P

3. Furniture yes! Got them a sofa chair. Gives a little variation on the display along with the good old doll stand. But it does take alot of space and requires periodic cleaning to keep the dusts off.

4. Just started adapting a dollhouse for my Lati Yellow. I love it so far just need to buy furniture for it, lot's of furniture.

5. I don't have a lot of it, but when I find things I like I do often pick them up. I have a few little "environments" on bookshelves where I store them, so they're not just sitting, they're posed around furniture or props. The tinies have a couple of Ikea furniture sets, the main group of minis just got a couple of lovely "fairy garden" benches from Hobby Lobby, and the other set of minis currently has an American Girl knock-off brand daybed (which will switch to an Ikea bed when I get it assembled and finished off). There's also a nice-size handmade teddybear chair that fits the new 60cm boy well, and a fuzzy "beanbag" that the fantasy tinies can use.

I've got a handful of props, too; I used to live near a place that sold Rement, so the tinies have a bunch of those, and now I live near a Japanese grocer who sells some very nice food erasers, so the minis are starting to get those.

6. I love finding little doll size items! ♥ It's always what I'm looking for when I go to antique/thrift stores. For furniture I only have two benches and 2 stands, but I have a few cute little character-specific items for each doll. I have...lessee... some vintage miniature books, bouquets, a doll, plush, picture frame, a dagger, a skeleton...probably some other stuff I'm forgetting. Oh, my favorite is an in-scale needle felted tabby cat that looks very realistic. ♥ I've been trying to find a 1/3 scale wolf for the longest time. That'd be the ultimate accessory. >.<

7. I've definitely been collecting things so that my girl has some props to play with :) I'm hoping to eventually need a shelving unit to keep her stuff on ;)

8. I plan on buying oriental fans for my MSD girl. And my second doll, who will be modeled after a much-beloved character of mine will have weapon props. But furniture? Probably not. My room is too small as it is, and even considering an SD doll is pushing it.

9. I have a couch that I made for my dolls when I only had the three. It since had to be put away because of a lack of space, but recently I was able to drag it out again and the tinies are now using it as a jungle gym...

10. I have two benches, a few chairs (my favorite being my metal MSD chair I got at a pottery store) a doll stand (planning to get more) and a bunch of different props...Even found a Sherlock Holmes pipe in MSD size.

11. Thanks to YouTube, I've been able to create some pretty awesome couches for my larger Iplehouse friends. If you don't mind spending pretty pennies on props, there are some really amazing pet beds out there that mimic the real thing, only to scale.

12. I never thought I would go this far, but I have managed to find a table with 6 chairs, with 2 matching dressers. A chest of draws. A chaise longe. 2 side chairs. A telephone box. A chandelier and a pink cadilac! All in 1/3 size that fit my EID boys perfectly.
I really need to get taking pictures and move some of them on as they take up so much room.

13. I made a space on a book shelf for my LTF and consider it her own space, it is decorated to a point, pretty much a dresser and some of her toys but will add a couple chairs eventually. I'm getting a friend for her, another LTF soon so they will stay in the same space together!

14. Gosh, yes. I have 2-3 good sized boxes full of furniture and have everything what feels like everything. It doesn't help that I'm a knick-knack addict, so I have a penchant for small accents to begin with. i have all the "normal" things a collector would have like matched furniture sets and a bed, but I also have bookshelves, books on the bookshelves, a wheelbarrow, school desks, a loom, rugs, in-scale clothespins, tarot cards...

15. I love shopping second hand, and every time I see something I could use, I'm soooooo very tempted to get the furniture and props.
I gor a huge collection of props, I choose from for my different shoots. I'd really love furniture in sd scale, bur I have no space for it.....

16. Not for the bigger sizes, but I am making a dollhouse for my pukipuki. I really would love to have more props, but two things won't let me: money and space.

17. I'm more interested in larger dolls so finding correctly scaled furniture seems more intimidating to me--maybe I should look at it as an interesting challenge instead. That is to say, no, I don't currently have any furniture for a larger doll, but I would like to one day.

18. I do collect a few sofa. It's hard to find some with good quality and yet not with very very high price and heavy LOL

19. I am planning to make a installation scene for their SD dolls.
Buy furniture on order from the masters who made a special doll furniture.
Walls, floors, windows and the rest will be doing herself.
Now my dolls are in their boxes. I take them only for fitting garments and photo shoots.

20. I don't collect as much as I would like only because collecting props for 65cm dolls gets jumbly fast. So I mostly look for personal items for them; things they would carry in their pocket or bag. Once I figure out their display space - I'll look more aggressively at building out their rooms. I'm always so envious of the detailed little rooms in 1/6 or 1/4 scale.
