It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Do You Dress Your Dolls For the Seasons?

Jun 23, 2010

    1. I am a knitter, so I always have winter in mind. So my dolls are dressed in sweaters most of the time. Though I don't mind them being dressed seasonal. Like something that reflects the world outside.

    2. My dolls is always at home :)

    3. To a degree. I try to give my dolls scarves, leggings (for girl), and other cold weather gear in the winter. I do this later now than I did before since I moved to a warmer climate so I guess the actual temp outside actually dictates when I change what my doll is wearing.

    4. I do dress my tiny delf Amy according to season and even what day it is. Monday-Friday she is in her school uniform and then saturday I put her in her casual dress and sunday she gets to wear her sunday best. I know it must sound silly to most people. I am looking for stuff to buy her for her winter wardrobe right now and have found 3 dress so far but still looking for more lol.

    5. Unless it's for a season-specific shoot (like say, outside in winter snow), then no. I do like to wrap them up in blankets or sheets during the colder seasons though.

    6. I love making holiday-related clothes for my dolls! :D Halloween costumes, Christmas dresses, Independence Day, heck yeah! Amiga doesn't have any yet because she's still fairly new, but OMG the wardrobe she will have!

    7. YES! I was thinking perhaps I was the only one who DID do this! I see so many people who have "characters" for their dolls, or tell stories with them, etc etc that I thought I was the odd one out! I dress mine for summer, spring, 4th of July, first day of school, Christmas, weddings etc! I like them to reflect what is important to me at any given time.

    8. Once I finish my doll collection and I start spending money on clothes rather than saving for the next doll I would love to dress them for the seasons. I'll probably go for Christmas first and then summer and branch out from there.

    9. I Do dress my doll for seasons and for bed time and for tea time lol I love my dears :D

    10. I never thought about it until now, but it seems a fun idea! My girl is wearing a hoodie and long socks right now, and I think if it was me I would die because of the hot weather. I will try to put her on a nice and fresh dress instead!

    11. I do not do much outfit swapping at all, let alone have seasonal clothing. The exception being my Catsys. They have cute little Christmas/New Years outfits I have them change into for a bit towards the end of the year. I have also made a Halloween dress for one of my Teenie Gem girls for a meet a few years back.

    12. I try to have warm weather and cold weather clothes for each of my dolls but it's a work in progress. Honestly, it bothers me to see one of my dolls in a sweater when it's warm out but I don't think about it when looking at other people's dolls. I sew the outfits myself, so I see it as a fun project for my own enjoyment.

    13. It is mostly always hot and humid where I live, espcially in the summer. If I were to dress my doll for the in season, my boy doll would be in sleevless shirt and shorts. Anyway, there is no reason to dress the doll for the season since we have maybe two seasons at most--oppressively hot and humid and somewhat ideal but damp season.

    14. I dress my dolls for seasons. They have t-shirts, skirts and dresses for hot weather and coats for autumn and winter. ^_^

    15. I do not, my dolls have specific characters and so I really only have one outfit for each doll. So until I can make or buy outfits that would fit each character I am content with having only one outfit per doll.

    16. I bought my first bjd's to sew and knit for, yes I like to see them dressed to suit the seasons when I am taking photo's. I also like to see them dressed to suit the occasion like Easter, Christmas going clubbing or to a ball.

    17. Yes I do XD I feel so weird putting my dolls in giant sweaters when it's 30+ outside. I know they are just dolls but I still feel like they are smothering and can't look at them like that when I'm smothering. Again when its -30 outside I can't see them in short shorts and tank tops, I feel bad for some strange reason.

    18. I am not very good at doing this all of the time, but I do try to have them wear seasonally appropriate attire. I just changed one girl out of her Christmas dress last week though. Oops!

    19. I don't care much for holiday attire, but I occasionally change their clothes to winter/summer clothes.
      I really have to start making winter clothes for my new ones, though. ^^;

    20. I definitely will, once I have them home (unintended eye twitching)
