Do You Dress Your Dolls For the Seasons?

Jun 23, 2010

    1. One day perhaps. When I have collected/created enough clothes for them XD

    2. ... Yes, I actually do dress them up in accordance to the season and it hasn't even registered to me until just now. :sweat I have T-shirts and shorts set aside for my boy when it's warm out and a sweater and pants for the winter months. I think it's mainly because I end up feeling hot/cold just looking at them when they're wearing clothes that aren't appropriate for the weather. :XD:

    3. It depends. If they wear fantasy clothes, no. But if they wear asual clothes, yes. Little by little I try to buy and sew new clothes in order to change their clothes more often

    4. When my tiny elf arrived it was middle of winter and all I had was a summery "petal" dress. My fiance complained that she would freeze. He rustled up a warm wrap for her. She so has him wrapped around her litle resin fingers haha. I have to save up for some more seasonal outfits for her.

    5. If I had the right clothes/more clothes for the dears, of course I would! I think the exception is special/fantasy/historical outfits, then I don't think I would change them for seasons...unless I can find or make a specific season themed special outfit for them :).

    6. Yea I like to dress them for the season I think its cute I make there clothes so its easy for me to dress them for seasons.

    7. My first doll, GInny, a J.I.D. Tania, has a few outfits (I've had her for four years now so I've been slowly collecting) so I usually lean towards the lighter outfits in the summer/spring and warmer outfits in the fall/winter. She has some little scarves that my mom crocheted for her, and a winter sweater. I would like to do more of that, but first I have to find things that actually fit her, haha.

    8. I'm in the same boat as UsagiOchya. c: I've had my JID Asa for quite some time now, but I haven't got a lot of stuff that fits her. c: I trend towards lighter colors in the spring/summer and warmer stuff in the fall/winter. I've got some scarves and that I've knit for her and a lavender shawl... c:

    9. Only the smaller dolls get dressed for the seasons, as I play with those the most, and it makes me cold to see them there in summer clothes when the temperature drops. The larger dolls all have just one outfit each, so they can't get redressed, although most of their costumes work for any season.

    10. totally... dressing for the seasons gives me the perfect excuse to buy or make more outfits to suit the weather!

    11. I do! I made my boy some t-shirts for good weather, and some long sleeve ones. Also a warm jacket. And change them by the season ^_^

    12. I've had nothing but halloween on my mind and I was thinking if I dress as a lolita then one of my dolls will as well. We'll both go to Disneyland in lolita!

    13. Yes. XD I make Halloween costumes, been saving this fabric with cutesy bugs on it to make pajama's for one of them, capri's all year round though. XD

    14. If I don't dress her for the season, I get uncomfortable just looking at her. I had her dressed in a short sleeve sweater at the beginning of summer, but I would get hot just looking at her so I made a summer outfit for her.

    15. Of course! I would feel terrible if they could not join me in halloween, or if they were in summer clothes in winter or vice versa. Also it bothers my mother when she comes over if my dolls are out of season. She always thinks they look "too hot" or "too cold". LOL. She also repositions them because "it's not good to sit one way for too long". I love her.

I tend to think of putting my dolls in seasonal clothes as my way of decorating for the seasonal occasions. I don't live in a huge place so my dolls are the primary centerpieces.

    16. I love this idea and I'd like to apply it, but I have much more summer dress than winter outfit.
It's really hard to find good outfit for each season, like rainy days or sea's time.
Each of my doll has a different fashion style and attitude to me, and I try to give them a strong personality in this way.
When is really cold, I keep them to home! (^.-)

    17. Not really. In the summer I'm more inclined to let them wear tees, but most of them wear the same outfit for long periods of time, because that look is how I envision their characters. I also don't have enough clothes to dress each character appropiately for the seasons. I even have one doll who wears a sleeveless knee lenght dress with a scarf. Because they can. xD

    18. If I had more clothes for my doll, then yes, probably, especially if I had an MSD girl (which will probably be my next purchase !). Otherwise, I like to dress my dolls toward my current inspiration (for example, I'd like my Aloïs to have a road trip outfit right now, so I'm looking for several clothes and accessories that fit this theme !)

    19. we only have summer and rainy season hear here so my doll usually wears light clothing but he does wear clothes for special occasions

    20. Nah, not really. I live in FL so if I dressed my dolls for the season they'd be in shorts and a top all the time. Hahahah.
I just dress them in whatever I think is cute a suits them, no matter what the season. C:
