It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Do You Dress Your Dolls For the Seasons?

Jun 23, 2010

    1. For photostory purposes, I'd like to have winter gear for my dolls (I live in Alaska!) but I'm still building up their wardrobe. I'll get there eventually.

    2. I'm getting there... I don't have enough clothes right now but I would like to have a full wardrobe and dress my dolls according to the season.
I' ve started with shoes, I've just ordered lots of shoes for my Littlefee, sandals, mary-janes, boots... it's a start !

    3. Since I am fairly new to BJDs.. this sounds like a super fun idea to play with. I feel like its something I might look into doing. ^-^

    4. Yes BUt i Don't always change their clothes right away. When I take pictures of them I will make sure they are dressed for the right season.

    5. I sewed a pair of boxers for Ian when he arrived, which worked well enough for the summer at the time. But I did hurry to get him a pair of jeans and a long sleeved shirt for the fall. I really should think about making him some sandals too lol.. Alys has been more complicated because her sense of style isn't as casual as Ian's and I'm still figuring out how to make snow dresses and hooded cloaks xD I'll get there eventually! But yeah. I like to keep them in season when I can. ^.^

    6. Nooooo! I just love to give them sweater in a hot summer day Lol

    7. I don't yet (haven't bought my doll yet! hehe), but I totally intend to dress her for the seasons. :)

    8. I am actuallu making Maggie flannel shirts, hat and a duster coat in preperation for the cold! I like to stay "in canon" with the seasons. It seems funny to me that some one-even a doll-would wear a t shirt or a sun dress in the middle of winter...

    9. Haha, doing this is such a habit of mine, especially when it comes to winter...

I specifically remember the time I looked at them and said "Oh man...they look freezing!"
...my parents looked at me like I'd lost my mind!
(Obviously, I know they can't feel the cold and so on, but I can't stand to look at anything that isn't appropriately wrapped for autumn/winter. Even people! It makes me shudder!)

    10. I dress for the seasons some, but I dress for holidays more. I've already started getting together some Halloween costumes for my girls ^_^

    11. Usually I will, but it depends on what clothes I have lying around~ :XD: I don't have that many right now for my dolls, but I plan on getting tons!

    12. I sort of do, within what I have for clothes... and within my own patience. I recently reached 24 dolls (and there's two more on the way), so I don't often have the time to find a new seasonally-appropriate outfit for them in the clothing bins and change them.

Still, I'm tempted to go find some separates/casual wear on Taobao, so I can have some stuff that suits them a little better!

    13. If I have clothes like that then yeah!
I already made some scarves for them for wintertime!

    14. Haha! Yes I do! I got a little sweater for one of my dolls, but I don't feel quite right putting it on him until it gets cooler. I go outside and it's so hot that I'm like noooo he should wear his T-shirt a while longer.

    15. Yes, because I would feel bad if they were wearing a little spring dress while it was all but freezing outside.

    16. I'd prefer they look appropriately dressed for the season, but they don't all have clothing that works for that so usually I don't do more than minor changes. I did put long sleeves on two of my dolls recently which will be nice for Autumn, but I also put a new sundress on one... I need to either put a shirt under it or a sweater over it!

The exception is snow... if we manage to get enough snow to look pretty and I manage to get out to take photos in it before it all melts, they have to have arms and legs covered at least. I have a couple jackets and scarves, and those get brought out for snow photos.

    17. I prefer to change them according to the seasons, but I've also been known to leave them in the same outfit for months simply because it fits their character so well. I will have to change things up more frequently as I get back into the hobby.

    18. I change my doll clothes by season, it is weird to me if my dolls are wearing a coat in the summer.

    19. I'm not a seasonal clothes person so my dolls aren't either. xD

    20. More for holidays than the seasons. Love dressing them for Halloween!
