1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do You Dress Your Dolls For the Seasons?

Jun 23, 2010

    1. It's more like.. I dress my doll according to the current weather where ever she is. Therefore, because I haven't been able to let her to out of the house much this winter because I haven't been able to get her any proper winter clothes. I'd shiver seeing her in her short sleeved dress outside in the snow. I just can't do it.

    2. I like to put coats on them when its cold out (even when they are indoors)
I also like jammies and night gowns... but mostly i dress them how i feel.. ( :

    3. I do. I spent a few hours this past weekend changing them to winter clothes because seeing them dressed for summer made me cold. I do need a few more winter outfits and shoes. But they are fine for now.

    4. LOL not at all, It's winter here and I'm making my doll shorts and a tanktop right now XD

    5. Nope. My dolls only have one outfit each anyway, so it would be pretty hard for me to do so :).

    6. I do, though it happens gradually--sometimes I only manage to change the last doll or two into seasonal clothes as it's time to start thinking about the NEXT season.

    7. Oh yes! I love to dress mine for the holidays especially.

    8. I usually dress my dolls according to the season. So I sew little by little because I have too many dolls ;) (you never have too many dolls) !
I also like to dress them when there's a special occasion like Christmas or Eastern.

    9. Yes, I do! It's part of the fun of owning dolls. Since I have a bin full of doll outfits and shoes, I like dressing them up for the season/occasion. :)

    10. I didn't used to but lately I've been looking into buying my dolls coats for winter now, then again I wear coats all year round so maybe thats why I tend to dress my dolls very warm regardless of season.

    11. I do, but with my massive crew, I have to do it in shifts! Like SD sized boys, SD sized girls, Tinies, MSDs...lol.

    12. I haven't yet because I am still new to the BJD world and don't have a lot of clothes for my dolls in general. But I did just order them each a couple of fall/winter pieces! We're getting our tree soon and I'm excited to take holiday photos of them :)

    13. Once I actually have more clothes for them it could be a possibility, although I don't really like summery clothes so they'll probably be in pants and long sleeves all year round xD If I ever get seasonally inspired to sew for them though I probably would~

    14. I tend to put mine in shorts and t-shirts in summer and then in winter I tend to put jeans and sweaters on them.

However, if I feel like dressing them up for some reason, I will put whatever I want on them too, even if it doesn't match the season.

    15. I don't have enough clothes yet for my dolls to dress them for the seasons... actually I don't have enough clothes yet for them to all have a complete outfit. >.> Two of my three are currently in their boxes in their underpants...

When I have the option, though? I reckon I would change them for the seasons, though it would be a case of silk clothes and short-sleeved tunics rather than wool and linen and cloaks. XD

    16. i plan on making MANY outfits for my little guy once i get him. he would make at least 40 outfits if i had my way...

    17. Most definitely! This is the first winter I've had Ainsley--and the first winter I've been somewhere with seasons and (shudder) snow--, so me and my irl doll friend spent last weekend working on sweaters and flannel pajamas to keep our dolls 'warm'. I suppose that it might sound crazy, but as I was shivering and griping about the weather being freezing, I would look at her in her summer dress and feel bad that Ainsley didn't have anything warmer to wear.... So, we fixed it and now she and Cain (my friend's doll) are dressed in their season's best!

    18. Not at all~! My dolls only have one outfit each.

    19. Well, I don't have any doll now, but my future boy will definitely have 4 closets  Maybe he won't have much clothes when he arrives, but after I learn how to use sewing machine, he will sure have a lot !:fangirl:

    20. If I have enough clothes, yes. My Pullip gets dressed for the weather, only because her clothes are cheap and easy to find (I use Barbie and other similar clothes for her). I struggle with making my own clothes when they are that tiny, so I'd prefer to buy them, which is way more expensive for BJDs. So maybe in the future when there is a more expansive wardrobe to choose from I'll change with the seasons more often.
