1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you ever change your doll's names?

Aug 30, 2017

    1. Since my dolls are avatars of my original characters, the answer to this question for me is no.

    2. I feel like it takes a while to "find" the right name that suits the doll's personality. Especially if I am waiting for a wig or making new clothes...the doll is kind of in a holding pattern until they emerge with their own little identity.

    3. I've changed a few of my doll's names, but usually I really like to think and give some thought to them before picking some possible ones. Ruri's name was going to be Celia for a while. I think the only other doll who I had trouble naming was Fuyumi, and that was more or less related to me accidentally calling her by some corruption of her name repeatedly until I was able to drill this one into my head

    4. I absolutely do! :D

    5. Im not all that imaginative so i do change my name!! I dont usualky guve my dolls personality as well!! My dools are usually a reflection of how i want to dress or to be seen by people!! Hahaha like an avatar i guess so naming didnt really catch my attention as much but i do still give them names!! ^^

    6. I don' have very many but usually they do not keep the name they came with. I have thought of changing the name with what I dress them up as but it just didn't feel right. When you find a good name for them you know because you won't want to change it. XD

    7. I never changed names of my dolls and other toys. But every name has appeared gradually. I can`t give name without reasons. I think that names are reflection of soul and image.

    8. I am terrible with names, so it usually takes a while. But I managed to get them all named before they arrived, even if I had to go through a few. I don't like to change it after that. Messes with their personality, I think.

    9. I haven't yet but if a name change felt right I would. It's not likely for me though.

    10. I’ve got a little Bei 1/6 doll from ResinSoul that I had initially named Kyura, but when she came I forgot I had ordered her in NS instead of White(Kyura has white skin) so I had to change directions and Kyura became Amara...:3 I think it suits her better too!

    11. My dolls are kind of lucky to get a name in the first place. I don't usually have a planned character for them and they get rewritten all the time. But to make things easier for other humans, I usually stick to a single name.

    12. Normally I won’t named them as I not good on naming.

    13. My dolls' names are bouncing all over the place at the moment.

One of them is currently named Ellipso, but that seems like a bit of hogwash to me now, so there's a chance that it'll change entirely.

My other doll ... I know I want his name to be some variant of the name Ambrose, but I've been waffling back and forth on nationality! I went from Ambrose to Ambroz to Ambros to Amvrosiy. Since I like the Russian diminutive nickname "Vrosya," I think I'll probably stick with 'Amvrosiy,' but boy -- I sure flip flopped around a lot!

    14. I feel ashamed saying this, but my second doll, whos male, doesn't even have a name yet. I just can't for the life of me think of one! D:

    15. I generally stick to one name, but I do have nicknames for them. :XD:

    16. I have not done it, but I'm thinking about doing it with one of my dolls. I like the name but I felt like I rushed myself when I gave her it.

    17. Maybe in the process of naming a doll, but as soon as a doll has the right name there is no way back for me xD Sometimes they even seem to decide their names on their own

    18. I haven’t even name my doll yet ( ・᷄ὢ・᷅ )

    19. My friends won't remember their names so I didn't name them:atremblin

    20. I learned my lesson with my first doll. I picked out a name and general look for her. Then she arrived, and that went out the window entirely. I think I went through three names before finally settling on Anwyn after she got her faceup. I've since learned my lesson. No one gets a name until they arrive. I might noodle over some potential names, but now I know full well that's not much use. Once they arrive, I may dither over a few similar names before picking one, but then the one I pick sticks.
