1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you feel that ABJD's compensate for something you don't have IRL?

    2. Sure :) actual models or mannequins :) I need them for sewing. Since I was a kind I loved designing clothes. I just needed models/mannequings. Plus... I wish I had a baby. Not as much a husband as just a baby that I could dress in frills, go out for walks and hug all the time <3 Not having one makes me a caring and loving bjd owner (I mean... I think I'm such... i'd be rather happe if I were my own doll ;)

    3. I've always had a need to collect something. I've had many different types of collections during my lifetime.
When I was working and had my own place, I had several different collections - vintage jewelry, vintage fabrics and sewing notions, antique powder compacts, antique Christmas ornaments, etc. Plus I enjoyed designing and making doll clothes for my small collection of 50s era dolls.

Regretfully I ended up losing everything through a tragic event in my life (long story). For several years I had nothing, and moved around from place to place with no real home of my own. When I finally was able to settle down again in one place, I had the aching desire to start collecting things again. I guess it's a nesting instinct. I wanted to feather my nest again with things I love. Things that define me and say something about the person I am.

So when I was looking for something to collect, an online friend turned me on to ball jointed dolls. I admired them, but didn't think it was for me because of the cost. I got one doll, and thought that was it. But now I have the begining of a real collection, with 7 dolls, and I don't regret it. It definitely fills a need in my life. It gives me something to look forward to, and something to focus on other than my own problems.
