1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you find larger dolls overwhelming?

Mar 23, 2017

    1. Not at all. I think the SD size is ideal for me, I only have five SD dolls ranging between 58cm and 66cm, and I don't see myself getting smaller dolls, yet I guess anything bigger than 70cm would be too overwhelming for me

    2. my first doll was an msd, and I was always a bit intimidated by my gf's sd until I got one myself (I just fell in love with the head) and had him sitting on my desk while I worked on jewelery for him. So I'm not intimidated anymore XD

    3. I used to think they were a bit daunting, having started out with just 1/4 dolls. But then I decided I really, really liked the Supia Juah head I saw for sale and went ahead and bought it... I don't know what I was thinking when I got her a 65cm body though. I can never find pants that fit around her waist AND are long enough. But no regrets! I now have 3 60+ cm dolls and a floating head that still needs an SD body. So I now have 4 different sizes

    4. I have a doll of 70+, and it’s best to play with him in comparison (tini and 1/3, though he bites more painfully than the others).

    5. Getting into the hobby, I bought a tiny for my first doll. I said 11 inches was as tall as my dolls were gonna get, because to be honest I felt like the bigger the doll, the creepier people would find my hobby. And they intimidated me. However, at Doll North this year, so many people had SDs :chibi They had such a huge presence and their owners seemed so confident and they knew what they were doing. I met an artist with a 60cm Little Monica Sarubia and I absolutely fell in love. I like how heavy and sturdy the bigger dolls are, and there’s more options for clothes and customization. My next doll will be an SD. :love

    6. No, have not felt that way towards any doll. My first was msd size, and I was quick to purchase SD. Always wanted 70cm and taller,
never got around to purchasing those bjd though. I have a couple of tiny size, and yosd size. I enjoy all the sizes. :-)

    7. I had a 70cm plus Ring doll Grown Dracula. To say I was overwhelmed was to say the Pacific ocean is damp. Which is one of the reasons why he is no longer with me. I couldn't even change his clothing. Much less keeping someone of that heft maintained....omg. Anything bigger would be not possible for me......I'll stick to my SD's thank you.

    8. I prefer larger dolls, I find them Easter to pose and they have more detail :)

    9. I like my SD13s and SD17s but I don’t think I’ll be getting anything 70+. Perhaps because I noticed my boys tend to have long legs, I keep thinking the 70+ will be slender man: taller and lanky.
