1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you get jealous when someone buys your type of doll?

Jul 24, 2005

    1. Hrm...nope.
Actually, quite the contrary. I wish more people had the doll I bought. The boy I bought, I can find absolutely no photos of him except on the site from the company he's from. :sweat It'd be nice to be able to see some photos; I want to know what he actually looks like. :sweat

    2. i would say no!! i will be very happy when i find someone who got the same type of doll as me =D I will definitely want him/her to be my friend!

    3. I think it's funny to see how a type of doll (for example Dollzone Hid) have different styles. Some people make goth/punk/emo, while others create s sweet and innocent boy. Or a girlyboy.

So my answer is no. I'm not jealous.

When you have this hobby, you can not assume that no one else doesn't buy the doll you have and love. It isn't a limited to 1 Worldwide hobby :P

(Sorry if my english looks weird) :P

    4. Unfortunately I'm semi-protective. But only because there was once someone who stalked my dolls and a friends dolls. They copied all the sculpts we had, and to an extent the same wigs - style and color, and other things. No matter what I do, when I hear someone I know is getting the same doll I have, there's still a lingering compulsion to wonder if I'm being copied. I realize it's most likely not the case, and i spend a day or so reminding myself that my friends aren't that individual, so it's most likely not the case, but it does still catch me sometimes.

    5. Wow, Tanu-chan... that's kinda creepy, to think someone would go that far. o.O That's very understandable then, in your case..

I hate being copied--I had to death with art theft, so any kind of copying would bug me, especially if someone had the same doll sculpt/wig/eyes/clothes/name... but I'm happy if someone has the same sculpt! The whole point is to see the creativity of others and how they make their dolls unique. So I think 100% copying kinda defeats the purpose of this hobby a bit, because these dolls are meant to be fully customizable.

    6. If I would be, I wouldn't be able to get any doll, unless the sculpt is OOAK.
There will always be people with similar tastes. ;)

    7. This is truly very creepy and sad. And I know what you mean since I have some real life friends who have done the same to me. It really is a sad and creepy sensation once it happens to you. Take care ^_^

    8. I think it's cool when people are interested in dolls I have, especially after looking at mine. I find it flattering, besides, there are only so many dolls.

    9. I love when people get the same mold as I do! I love seeing different customizations, and the more, the merrier!

    10. Oh yeah, I say bring it on!...the more the merrier! I love seeing other interpretations of the dolls I own. I'm all about the creativity...it always fascinates me how different and unique the same sculpt can be in different hands.:)

    11. I'm like mostly everyone else here, I LOVE when other people buy my doll type or dolls I were thinking of getting. It's so fun to see everyone's different take on the same doll. ^^

    12. No not really, I only have a resinsoul doll and they are really easy to customize and make your own. So even though someone may have my same mold, its never the same doll. Plus, I love seeing what other people can do with something you are already familiar with. Lots of times I find it to be very inspirational.

    13. I may have a brief pang of jealousy, but it typically lasts a split second. Then it's overwhelmed by the excitement of, "Ooh, I hope you post pictures!" After all, if they do, I can enjoy the doll vicariously to a certain extent. =P

    14. I can't say I'm all that bothered, now if it's a limited edition doll that I am unable to obtain I'd get a little jealous, since I won't be able to own that doll unless by some miracle.

    15. In a way I'm jealous since I'm saving for her and can't order her now, but I really want to see more people with her. She's not popular at all, so it's hard for me to see her customized. Dx

      Gimme more Cinderella! lol

    16. I would never get jealous of someone else loving/having the same doll as me. :o
Someone else in the world IS bound to have or love the same doll as you. When you get down to the fact of the matter, it's how you make your doll unique to you; whether it's through modding, character storyline, faceup, etc. :)

    17. i dont get mad when people talk about the same sculpt, I love seeing how people do different things with the same sculpt. I get fustraited when people blatinately copy your dolls style, I was waiting the arival of one of my dolls, and I would talk about her in one of the discussion threads, like what her personality would be, how she would look, and her name, and 2 weeks before she arived, someone bought the same sculpt of the MP and introduced her with the same name, style and personality even close to the same wig mine would have. I was very mad, and hurt, I changed me dolls name and personality a bit because of it. she did the same thing to another person in the same discussion thread a few months later. Im over it now, dolls are just dolls, and that person having a doll like the one I was talking about is their own business.

But I love seeing how most people are very original with their dolls sculpts

    18. No, I don't mind at all. But sometimes it makes me want to buy another one, because they are just so pretty! lol

    19. No, I'm not getting jealous, just the opposite: I was excited beyond measure when a girl in my town asked my opinion on purchasing Lazule too. I thought it was a great idea because she wanted to inresinate a characher that I love too. I helped to purchase the doll (used my PP). Now we have 2 Lazules here, both are modded (differently) and painted by me. It's so much fun to shoot them together!
I also try to track the same mold dolls, just to look at the faces I like. Unfortunately, dolls I choose are comparatively rare.

    20. I'm not jealous. @_@ I love seeing what people do with the same sculpt. It's amazing how different set ups can make the same doll into totally different characters.
