Do you get jealous when someone buys your type of doll?

Jul 24, 2005

1. No, it doesn't really bother me at all because every person will customize their doll differently, making it more personal to that individual ^_^ It would bother me though if someone was intentionally trying to 'copy' my own doll's look, simply because of that amount of personalization.

2. I actually just get excited when others are getting the same doll as me. I love how different people customize their migidoll mihos - they all seem way different! It really demonstrates the versatility of the head mold, and how much a faceup and accessories can really show the individuality of the dolls.
Right now I have a minifee Karsh ordered on layaway, and there is others who are getting him too! Not many people seem to have a Karsh, so I get excited to see what people do with them!

I do get kind of jealous though if someone is getting a doll I really want but can't afford...but I just tell myself "someday :)"

3. Noooo. Exact opposite actually haha!

When someone talks about a doll that I have, I get really really excited. I love seeing how other people personalized their dolls. <3
I mean... if you really love a certain mold, wouldn't you want to meet lots of them?

Especially when I see a Luts Bory I just freak out cause I love the mold so much haha! And SOOM Grit also. I don't see many Grits so.. it's really exciting when I do nwn

4. Ditto this. I love seeing other dolls with the same mold as the one's I have just to see how different they are. Two of the other girls who purchased LoongSoul's Emily, around the same time I did, ended up selling their girls. So I would probably be really excited if more people started popping up with those dolls.

5. I love seeing various mold of dolls because I know I can't have them all but I wouldn't mind to see the same mold as mine (the more the merrier!!!! like my doll find his/her lost twins or distant relatives ha haaaa XD)

6. I don't think I get jealous, but it does feel strange sometimes! O///o I've never met someone else with a DOT Shall or a EP Kitty offline, so I don't know how I'd react. XD Thinking about it, I think I'd be more okay with a friend/family member buying the same type of doll as me, than with someone I didn't know as well.

I think it's worse because some doll sculpts seem so much more versatile than others~ For example, the DS Saint can look REALLY different depending on it's faceup, but it seems like most DOT Shalls look relatively similar, aside from wigs and such. >///< ( But I think a lot of that is due to the fact that DOD's faceups are already so pretty! )

7. I don't get mad at all. I love seeing all of the different ways sculpts can look at the hands of different owners.

Once though, I was sort of ticked because one of my closest friends (who is looking for her first BJD) wanted
me to okay that she could get a doll the same sculpt as mine and have the same artist give it the same faceup as mine.

Number 1 that artist has a policy about redoing elaborate faceups so it wouldn't have happened anyway...but it also
slightly annoyed me because the doll is based on one of my original characters. I felt rather odd about her asking that.
Now I wouldn't mind her getting the same doll hey go for it...but I found it rather rude for her to ask me if she could
make a direct copy of my character.

But other than that no, I love love seeing the sculpts I own with different owners. In fact, one of my favorites things to do is search for user pics (of the dolls I own) on Deviantart and on here to see how different they all look =D It's fun to see how everyone customizes their dolls!

8. I have to say, I love that Cass is the only Maunier Boy on the boards, but I don't necessarily think I'd be jealous so much as curious if someone else got one. There's a girl version floating around and I have to say I'm always tickled when I see her because I automatically think "It's girl-Cass!" (She is very pretty too ^__^).

I think my only worry would be that someone customizes theirs and it makes me wish I'd thought of doing that with Cass' face first. XD I'd hate to see a Maunier boy with an amazingly beautiful face-up and look over at my poor Cass with spots rubbed off his nose and what not and think "Damn- I wish I'd made him look like that!" Because now I'd never be able to, unless the other person changed theirs again =__= That's the only thing I think... (er, other than a direct copy- which I don't think will happen, I'm pretty sure Cass looks way to ordinary for anyone to want to copy him :D)

9. Like it's been said, I think it's great! It's like being part of a little club, lol. And 'being a part of something special makes you special.' : )

10. In short I would say: YES.
I can't be helped to be jealous. But when someone owns the type of doll I want for my own and I CAN'T get it... it's sort of depressing for myself. If someone owns a doll and I have the same type , which I wanted it would be all right ^^'''

11. I do get a bit jealous, but only because I want the doll, not because I don't want other people to have it. I'm mostly like "man, I want one! Why can't I find any that I can afford?"

This is pretty much true only of the Spiritdoll Camphor and Soom Euclase though. I have other dolls planned, but for some reason, I don't get jealous over those. Go figure. XD

12. Nope:)　I'm actually looking for owners that has the same doll as mine; I'm curious how they customize their doll xD ( so is there a manly Yder :O!?

13. I get interested. Not Jealous, mind...but VERY interested.

14. I was the first of my friends to get a bjd and when one of my closer friends found out she looked at Madaline and said, "I want her!!"
At first I was a little angry about that, she hadn't even looked at other scuplts, but now I'm rather interested to see what she does with her and maybe they can be sisters :)

15. Not really, since I modify and customize my dolls so much. c:

16. I feel like I'm selfish for saying it, but it does do something along those lines to me. I see a Si in the marketplace, and it makes me kind of sad that they aren't wanted, but then I turn around and see one not in the MP and I start thinking, "mine is cuter". I don't see many of the doll I'm saving for around (actually, only a few in the database...) so I don't have that problem with her.

17. There aren't an absolute tonne of F-17s floating around...and while some are absolutely drop dead gorgeous, others are well...lets say I find them to be ugly, IMHO. I still love the scuplt, and have one on layaway now. I don't get jeaalous that others have that type of doll, because they're all different. However if someone had one with the same wig/eyes or even name as mine, that's when I'd get protective, whether it were coincidence or not.

18. Nope, I rather happy if I find someone like the same type of doll that I have. ^ ^

19. i am everytime super exited when i see dolls which i own......because everybody gives the doll a special character and thats what i love! Especially Unoas and Unoa Chibis......the go from supersexy to childlike cute ^^

20. No I actually rather enjoy it. I own several less popular molds so it is nice to see any others of the same mold and see what characters and personalities they have. Even with the more popular molds I own it doesn't really bother me to see others. The only time I feel a little jealousy is when I see some one with a mold I really want and haven't been able to save up enough money for yet. That does give me a momentary pause.
