Do you get jealous when someone buys your type of doll?

i love seeing what other people do with sculpts that i have...especially Resinsoul Songs. Song is my favorite sculpt ever and i now own two of my own and i really love to see what other people have done with them. I love seeing the versatility of different sculpts so i could never feel jealous of someone getting the same sculpt as me, even if it was someone i was really close to. I know it might be the same sculpt but it's a different character.

 

The part id get jealous about is if i had been eyeing a doll for a while ans really wanted it and then someone close to me got it before i did knowing i wanted one and the reason they wanted it too was because i showed it to them, oh yeah, id be jealous. Maybe a bit pissed or frustrated... But thats natural, after all your dream was just achieved by someone else haha.

Or course i dont think that its wrong or anything, its just my selfish feelings. I would congratulate them of
course though.

 

Hm. No, don't think so. There's simply not enough Arks out there, no matter how many there ARE - they're still not enough. *lol* I'm happy about every Ark that I see and always interested to see what others are doing with the sculpt! Same goes for Akando and my Zachary Quinto Minimee. Oh, and the two tinies.

The only doll I do NOT want anyone else to own is Celaran, who's a Minimee done after my own "design" (if you can call it that). I consider him "mine, mine, MINE". *gg* But since there's only two heads world-wide and I currently own both, it's not very likely he'll pop up anywhere else. Though I do have to admit I'm kinda curious what someone else might do with the sculpt. But Celaran's just so much "mine" that I wouldn't want anyone else to "twist" his character into something he simply isn't. If that makes any sense?

 

I think it's kinda silly to be jealous just because someone buys the same sculpt as you... now, that is not to say that anyone that gets frustrated because they had been telling others how much they want a doll and that person gets one first is silly, hell, i'd be upset too. but just because someone talks about a sculpt or gets it, that's kinda silly. Everyone has different ideas for sculpts! If I put my mnf lishe nest to yours (example) odds are they are not dressed alike, do not have the same face-up, wigs are different, etc. They are totally different characters and the people that created them are different too. Now, if we put them next to each other and they were the same from wig to shoe and the names were so similiar or exactly the same, then we'd have a problem. That's when I'd not only be jealous, but furious as well. But it's not because they have the same sculpt, but because they took my character.

I don't find exact copying flattering. If you like a wig or a set of clothes, that's fine. but not the entire doll. However, if you saw my doll and that was why you got that particular sculpt, then I am so happy and flattered! just don't take my character!!!

 

Nope not at all. Only because its a little silly in my opinion, because it's only inevitable that someone is bound to buy the same mould. However, as Zavrinas has say it's one thing to have similarities, it's bound to happen. HOWEVER, exact copy of a doll can be rather infuriating since for most doll owners, from the looks of it, usually has an OC in mind for the doll or already in place. No jealousy there but alot of drama would ensue. That and usually most people have different ideas for that doll anyway.

For me personally, I would love to know someone who has the same doll type/mould of mine only so that we can discuss how we can make clothes for them. Because currently I'm having troubles. XD

 

Not at all and I sometimes wished that there would be a friend with the same type of doll so that I could take a twins photography n___n Besides, I feel quite happy because I'm not the only one who bought the same type of doll XD

 

Not at all! As an owner of a Male IF I've actually encouraged people to get Male IFs as at the time, Donivan was the only one on the net. (I have a friend who now has a Male IF (deboobed girl body) and know of one other person who's planning on one.) I'd love to see more IFs in general to be honest!
As for Goldies, I LOVE seeing other Goldies. A friend of mine was apprehensive about wanting a Goldie as I had one but I convinced her she should! >w<

 

I never do! My dolls ALL have custom face ups so, even if the sculpt or doll is the same, the face is NEVER the same! I usually always love mine best! LOL!!!!

 

I think its more people get jealous when they really want a doll and are saving to get it and then see some1 buys it, there jealous that they got the doll first and really wish it was them XD. Ive done that before, and had people envious that I got the doll type b4 they did, but if I own the doll type and someone just buys one I dont really mind they fell in love with the doll too and thats great!

 

I like meeting other people who have the same doll. Mine is a notdoll belladonna so it's not so popular...

 

I don't generally get jealous, but I know what your friend means.
I'm going to be getting a Pukifee ante soon, hopefully, and I've planned her out completely, and when I see another doll that looks similar, it makes me feel as though I'm copying, and I have to go and change her again.
But usually, with the dolls that I own I'm perfectly happy. Neah, My B&G Hera is a very versatile mold, and so whenever I see a picture of another one of them, I am intrigued not jealous. And Eggs, my Dollzone July, is so unusually used as a female doll, that I haven't actually found anybody else like her yet. ^_^

 

Maybe just a little, but then I think: "wow! there going to be more pictures of my fav doll "

Every doll is different, even if they are the same type, and that's the great of it...If you want a doll save an buy it, that's all

 

I don't mind so much when someone buys one of the dolls I have or the ones I want. With the ones I want, I kind of get the "ooh~ lucky!" feeling, and when they buy ones I have I'm just kind of happy another found a home. However, when I see one of the ones I have being sold I feel kind of bad... and sometimes I want to buy them. <w<; I'm not really looking for twins, however, so I just move on...

 

not really, to be honest, its actually exciting to me. I love seeing more pictures of my favorite doll!

I LOVE seeing owner's pictures, so the more people buying a wide variety, the better!

Honestly, I think that owner pictures will really clinch my decision to buy or not buy dolls in the future. You just can't tell from website pictures what the doll really looks like.

In that respect, I'd be flattered if someone bought a doll because my photos of her/him were that good!

 

Only if someone has a doll that I want. Even than it's not the ugly kind, more of the "I wish had more money".

I actually really like it when other people buy dolls I like or want. Seeing other people's dolls in a lot of different ways helps me get ideas.

Not at all, all the dolls I want/have are really popular...usually I think the opposite and sometimes I feel bad that I couldn't be more creative XD. But no, so many had my dolls before me and they are something that is made to be purchased my multiple people O.O so of course tons of people will have the same doll. I don't know anyone in real life who collects though so I've never had someone I personally know buy my same doll.

 

No, it doesn't bother me when the same mold is customized in a different and wonderful way. It just shows how popular my doll is.
