It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Do you get jealous when someone buys your type of doll?

Jul 24, 2005

    1. He was my dream doll too!!! ^__^ One of my closest friends wants a Woosoo really badly, too. Three of us, are chipping in $150 to help her bring him home for Christmas. ^__^ That's $450 that she didn't have before. We hope we'll be able to find one soon for her, I don't think we'll be able to do it here... we'll probably have to go on ebay Taiwan or Y!J.

I hope you can get yours!!! :dance

I can't tell you what I had to go through to get 2 out of three of them. *_* The last one (Enki, my vampire) was a mistake of sorts... :sweat I saw him on ebay and felt bad seeing him there without anyone bidding. So to save him from being unloved, I bid on him instead of going after the Buy It Now, because I was hoping someone else would bring him home. He had a buy it now of $320, and I didn't know it at the time, but I found out pretty soon that if you bid (he was at $295 to start the bidding), the BIN price goes away. :o :doh I felt horrible, but he was still at $295 (the original price he'd been listed for) days after I bid on him, and the bidding was set to increments of $1. So I figured that someone would come along and snatch him up before he'd ever get to come home to me.
Long story short... he was up there for 6 more days, and no one else bid on him... so he did come home.

I'm super happy to have him. I never thought, in my wildest doll wishes, that I'd even have one ~ let alone three.

:::Some people say that they really want dolls, but aren't willing to sacrifice for them enough. They're the ones you hear complaining the most about being wronged. Don't let them get you down! Keep your faith!!!:::

I was getting paid less than $7.00 an hour, and only worked 20 hours a week when I got my first Woosoo. I saved birthday, graduation and christmas money. Every single penny.

But don't lose hope! Because if you really really want him, and are willing to sacrifice to get him, you definitely will bring him home. Sometimes prices seem unfair, and sometimes (or in my case a lot of times) you get outbid, or lose out on a few of them, but always know that the right Woosoo will come your way one day, and he'll be just for you. I was told that once, and I fully believe in it!

So don't ever lose faith! :D

    2. Nope I've only seen about four other Leafs and one is a Handsome boy. ^_^ I wish more people had a Leafs so we could talk about their beauty!

    3. ^^; Yeah most people wouldn't believe the hectic and crazy attempts Enki went through to bring her kids home... she didnt' make all that much money and she was willing to spend a small fortune on them (i'm talking down payment on a ford focus O.O kinda small fortune) ^^; But that's one of the many things I love about her...she's so fanatical about the things she loves ^.^ and she tries her best to get what she has *huggles Enki*
sometimes you'll see people on this board that claim they desperately want certain dolls...and those who want them the most and are willing to give it all they got, they will be the ones who get their dream dolls and bring them home.

Sadly enough we're all discovering that the BJD hobby is expanding so rapidly and so many new people are joining the hobby and dolls like Woosoo being limiteds and absolutely stunning dolls...supply and demand...and it's so obvious that supply is way below the demands of this fandom.

and Jealousy over dolls is so unnessicary...Life's too short to dwell on such negative emotions...Live life to the fullest ^-^ and Enjoy the awesome hobby that is BJD ^_^

    4. ...................

    5. The only jealousy I've ever experienced was when someone I considered to be a friend bought the dream doll of mine that I had been eying for... well... years... and immediately turned around and sold him for a fat profit... AND told me about it, all proud-like.

... But I think that was more fury than jealousy, really.

      Otherwise, no.

    6. I dont get jealous I just want to see if there are pictures! Another person having the dolls I want makes me more anxious to get the dolls myself ( which I have 3 on my waiting list Volks FCS f-14 head girl , DOD Pitts , Luts Vampire Shiwoo)
It helps to see the pictures of how people make their dolls up , the different looks etc.
When I see people who have a million dolls I am like "WHOA! " I think the user 'Ponygray' has like a million dolls, she has her own DOll City lol and I think that is cool especially all the pictures she has but I dont get jelous I am jsut happy at all the information that is provided for a particular doll that they may post that I want...

    7. I get annoyed when people buy Mythdolls because they are less expensive, give them sharpie face-ups and then sell them in order to get a "better" doll. Otherwise, YAY for more Leroi's!

    8. Nope. I always want to see what people have done with their Unoas, because they all look so different, and it gives me new ideas. Not too many people have f-04(old) or f-02(new)'s, but i love to see them when they do! Unoas are fairly popular now (they weren't when i got Snowdrop 2.5 years ago) so i don't get AS excited when i see another Unoa, but i get really excited when i see other f-04's.
However, i do tend to not buy super popular dolls. i love Lishe and Hound for example, but i get to see a lot of Lishe's and Hound's on the board, and since there are other dolls that i like just as much that aren't as common, i'm more likely to buy a less common doll over a common one, simply because unless i own that doll that i like, i wouldn't get a chance to see it hardly at all. So... if there are two dolls i like just as much, but one is more uncommon than the other, i'm more likely to buy the uncommon one. But that dosen't mean i'll be upset if other people buy the same doll, in fact, this is what happened when i got my Unoa. She wasn't popular when i bought her, but now she is. I'm not mad at all, just glad lots of people out there are enjoying their unoas as much as i am!

    9. No, I'm actually really glad because my doll's are not common and it's rare to see them in the galleries. :) I do get sad when I see dolls I own in the marketplace though. I'd like to buy them all :(

    10. no, it gets me more exicted that someone else has the same mold too. its pretty cool to see how many different looks can be done on one mold.

    11. nope not at all ^^ I like to see what they did with their doll. How different it is to mine.

    12. I often get a bit jealous, yes. ^_^ Not as much by the fact that someone else owns the same sculpt but when the owner has succeeded in making it closer to what I'm struggling to achieve. Still, it depends very, very much on which sculpt it is.

I do agree with you about that! ^_^ Especially when I see a Dollmore Dean. It makes me all teary eyes and I want to take care of "that poor, lonely little fellow!!" <--- This is were hubby starts sweating. XD

    13. lol,I'm never jealous XD I actualy love when I find a person who has the same doll as me... It's nice to talk to people who have similar taste in dolls. And it's interesting to see how different make up,wig and outfit can totaly change the look of a doll

    14. NEVER!

My doll is a less common mould [DZ Demi]. So I get kinda excited when I see another Demi on the boards.

    15. No, never! It's like finding a kindred spirit, and it's fun to see what other people do with the same doll.

    16. I can't help but find your friend incredibly silly and childish. How on earth can you be part of a hobby that produces dolls in multiples and then be upset at others who also own that doll? That is so weird and I wouldn't have the patience to listen to your friend if she carried on like that.

I think it's ever so interesting when I see other peoples versions of the same molds I have. I love it in fact. I certainly couldn't be annoyed especially since a lot of the molds I own I discovered through owner pics here on DOA.

I honestly can only think that perhaps if you had someone who only bought the same dolls as you then you might feel a litle bit stalked; but then again if someone is copying you that is supposed to be a high form of flattery...however, your friend just doesn't like it if people have the same mold or talk about the Soom Gina...I think she has some kind of issues where she needs to feel important and some kind of recognition. However, she's chosen to put her self-worth in a place where it cannot possibly be rewarded because there will be someone with the same doll; so that gives her a chance to whinge about it, and get attention. Very sad. :|

      /psychological analysis over

    17. No, I don't, seeing as BJDs are so highly customizable. It has happened to me to look at two dolls, same model, and due to the wig/mods/face-up almost not see a similarity, as if they were very very distant cousins xD

Besides, I agree with Absynthe above. There's only a limited number of doll models, and so many more times that number the ones who are in the hobby...it's inevitable that sometime two or more people will buy the same model =]

    18. You know, I really like to look at all of the owner pics of the sculpts I like because different owners each have different tastes/styles. But also, at the same time, I think it'd be nice to be one of the few that actually have a particular doll. I wouldn't be jealous though. If I thought that their doll looked way better than mine... then maybe.

    19. Japhia and I both own the same mold doll, and its very likely that these two see each other more than they see any other dolls, with the area we live in and for how long we have known each other.

People look at pictures of the two of them and see two completely different dolls, which is what I see. There are only so many dolls out there, and its going to happen that other people are going to get the same doll you have. There's just no point in being upset or jealous over it, it means someone else saw the same mold you love and loved it just as much, it should say good things about that person's taste, and it can be lots of fun comparing things about the dolls.

    20. Not at all. In a way it's rather flattering when you influence someone to get a particular doll. My friends & I do that all the time. Besides, the dolls never end up looking the same nor are the characters similar. It's great fun to see & hear what different folks do with their dolls & the stories behind them.
