Do you get jealous when someone buys your type of doll?

I get a little giddy when I see someone with a mold like mine -- especially Abadons. I love seeing how others customize him, he's just so gorgeous in all his incarnations. For me, part of what makes this hobby so fun is seeing just how different two of the same dolls can be.

 

I'm only jealous of people who have those gorgeous Bermann Limiteds! *sighs and shakes head*

For myself, I'd like to meet others with DZ Megi 2s, just to compare and contrast! Even just a wig change makes them such a different doll.

 

I don't get jealous, per say.

If I have yet to buy the doll and someone else gets it, it just makes me more determined!

If someone buys the same model as mine, who cares! That's why I don't own one-offs.

 

I don't. I'm always browsing through the database threads for fun because it's so cool to see how unique everyone's dolls in one thread are and yet be the same mold.

 

Not really unless it's in the local doll forum. Mephisto says there can only be one >o Lol it's completely irrational I know but I like being the only one at the meets with a certain doll o.o

I don't really get jealous. I would actually love if someone local bought a Mayu, then I could take pictures of them together >w< It kinda makes me want another Mayu ha ha. It wouldn't really bother me if someone bought the same version as me either because I don't dress her in her default clothes so they at most would have the same eyes, face up and wig which I don't really care about anyway-again, twins. Adorable pictures. ha ha

 

No way do I get jealous. I'm really happy to see more of my exact sculpt - only two other people on DOA apparently have it. I'm also glad when people get dolls I'm interested in getting/want to get in the future - their posts can be very useful resources!

 

I'm with the others that say they're happy when they see others with the same type of doll. If it weren't for the database I probably wouldn't have settled on a couple of my favorites, and with some of my more odd-sized dolls it's great to get tips of where to get clothes for them. I actually like searching Y!J for sculpts I own just to see what people do with them, especially if there aren't too many of that sculpt here on DoA.

 

if i have a sculpt that i love, i am happy to see all the other people who love the sculpt as much as i do! and its fun to see how all the different forms the same base can take! i simply love it

 

I've been on the other side of that, and had someone tell me to not buy a doll because they already owned it and they didn't want anyone else here to have one.

I didn't actually *want* that doll, I just commented on how pretty the face was.

 

Nah, I wouldn't be jealous.

Like someone else said, they look incredibly different when customized, even when the head mold is the same. That said, it would kind of be like having a different Barbie as someone else as kids; they're still the same yet look quite different.

When it comes to BJDs, I'd be more excited to see someone with the same mold.

However, I would be jealous if someone had an outfit for their doll that I really wanted.

 

LOL! I know. Still though I could see another Tan El pop up and there'd be an epic fight to the death. Mephisto'd probably strangle him with his whip and "take out the impostor" XD

Nope, I'm not. Especially right now, when I am waiting for my girl to arrive, I crave to see more pictures of her mold. But there's almost none (;0 I only could find one person who owns B&G Aurora and there's only few pictures((
And I dont think I'll start be jealous after she'll arrive, 'cause I love to watch how different dolls with the same mold may be

anyway, no, ive never been jealous or upset when someone buys one of the dolls i have...i actually get excited and want to see their pictures all the time! XD i have gotten a little sad to see them up for sale tho...

I don't get jealous, myself but I have a friend who will soon be getting into the hobby and she's already jealous that I'm waiting on a second doll. [So much so that she's ordering Too and Bee-A just so she'll have the same number as me...] I'm sure she would be jealous if I got the same mold has her... Personally, I see each individual doll as a completely different character. They may look similar, but they aren't in personality.

 

I don't really get jealous, because I enjoy seeing other owner pictures, especially if I don't have the doll yet! In fact, I get upset when a doll I want/have ISN'T owned by anyone else because I love to see the variety of faceups/characters for that mold!

There just aren't enough pictures of poor Ojallin. ;~;

 

I do not mind as I think everyone as their opinion... but if someone really does not like the ones I like..... well... I will not like it XP

And... It is fun when someone talks about a doll I want.... Even more when they like it XD

But I do feel a little jealous, since I will not have mine in a year or so XP

 

No not really, i love seeing the same doll with different characters it's always fun to take photos of them together!

 

I love finding people who own the same mold of doll as I do.
I like seeing what people do with them (and it secretly pushes me to make mine more unique l-lol ...). But at the same time, it's nice to have a mold that isn't super popular.

Besides, there's too little love for the AoD Min. D;
