1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you get obsessed when a new doll is coming?

Nov 9, 2009

    1. I'm obsessed right now..hahah..my doll was already shipped..although it wasn't the headless body I mentioned before..it's a full doll..deym, I'll be a regular (annoying) visitor of EMS site until tomorrow..or after tomorrow..:D

    2. oh yes I was totally obbessed over karm when i was waiting for her arrival.

    3. My first I was super anxious, obsessed, I looked at the site every day, sent mail, looked at the clothes and wig that came long before him. I was three months this way. The second was more relaxed, because it took only a month.

At home: Erick (Don-Ring Doll) Lee Hwang (Luke # 1 DOD)
Waiting: Eris head (Ordoll & Nyxdoll)

    4. yup haha. I've already checked my shipping status at SOOM twice today . . . even though it's a Sunday . . . >>

    5. Yup! I have three dolls possibly coming in this month and I've been obsessing like crazy! If I check my order status on Soom one more time I may have to punch myself. LOL!

    6. Yes, waiting is terrible! I am expecting a doll (soon!) that I want to make clothes for and can't until he is here! Then when he does arrive, I might be too busy to make the outfit.

That is the hardest thing. When I buy the doll I'm all fired up to get them done right now, but in two or more months, I might be too busy or have lost the umpf! Oh well, it's fun anyway!!

    7. If refreshing the postal tracking page every 5 minutes, waiting for hours at the door, feeling so depressed that I sink to the ground when the mail man does not stop at our house, and spending hours looking at owners pictures of the sculpt I'm waiting for counts, then yes.

    8. Yes. I'm always checking the order status and counting the days until the doll arrives. I'm waiting for two dolls right now and to pass time I buy them clothes, shoes and wigs:lol:

    9. I definitely get obsessed. I hunt down cute outfits, make/buy wigs, refresh the tracking page every two seconds, and squeal at random intervals. :) It's fun! I think that it makes the time go faster until the doll arrives.

    10. I'm very obsessed when I'm waiting for a doll(mostly when I receive a shipping notice) or when i am trying to decide if I should buy it or not...

    11. Oh yeah I get obsessed but...this is my first doll so I’m allowed that, right?
      I check to see if they update his status at least every hour if im home near a computer. even on the weekend before I realize that oh bummer it’s the weekend; doubt they’re actually gonna update/ship anything then ;-;
I have two boxes of clothing and hair and eyes and shoes all ready for him that I decide to pull out and go through at least twice a day...I’ve been trying to find an average ’ready’ time that most people have before ordering and getting their dolls and if my caculation is correct...at the end of next week I should be veryvery happy kiddeh x3
But yeah. First doll? Totally allowed...and my view is this; every doll you get is usually a first doll since its usually a new and different sculpt or new and different character. So either way its new and different so you’re allowed to obsess =D

    12. From the moment I see a doll and want it, I obsess. After my first few dolls, I want to have eyes, wig, shoes all ready for it when it gets here. I study the blank head and compare face up photos until I know exactly what I want to do, so that I can see it in my mind. The only thing that drives me crazy is waiting for the shipping. Then I panic when they go over their own "2 to 3 weeks" limit. I start to think the company is going to pull a 'Dollfair'. If it's shipped UPS I'm in even more of a panic because I know what UPS can do to any package. Then when I get the doll, I spoil them rotten, so I agree, it's okay to obsess! That's part of the fun of the hobby! (yes, even the stress is worth it >.>;;;)

    13. I can honestly say no I don't become obsessed, not when purchasing the doll or his/her items BUT I do worry when the doll is in the mail system. On the last day of guaranteed shipping, I will start to look at the clock and stand in the window waiting for the parcel delivery... so maybe a little bit obsessed :)

    14. I absolutely get obsessed when I see a new doll I want. Most recently the really tinies, like the FFs and Amelia.

    15. I'm a little sad that lately a new doll hasn't really given me the bubbly excitement it used to. When Dakini arrived I totally just sat there with box (on the phone with my mum) and totally ignored her. When I finally did open her up, I glanced over the clothes, eyed the wigs and stuck her on the shelf with the others. Don't get me wrong, I was glad to get her, and I love her- but I just wasn't super excited, or even inclined to write down the arrival date or take box opening pics. I think I've just been getting too many lately. XD

    16. I bought my first doll (second hand) last week and I am TOTALLY obsessed... I'm refreshing the tracking page all the time and I've got a folder on my laptop, full of owner pictures of Angell-Studio Leiras. I can't stop looking at them lol. I actually couldn't sleep last night because my mind was racing about how I want to do her faceup. I hoooope she arrives before the weekend!!

    17. I have been this time around but thats probably because the 2 I'm waiting for will be my first MSD-size and YOSD-size dolls ... I already have photoshoot ideas planned out

    18. Obsessing at this moment! I got to get back to websites selling cute boy clothes...bye!

    19. I am another obsessor. Once I have ordered a doll I haunt flikr, hunt down cute clothes, google it obsessively and check the mail box every five minutes.

    20. I think i DO get a bit obsessed...
I check out the DoA Waiting Rooms
I check out anything anywhere about the doll I'm waiting for
      I collect photos of it
I look through pages and pages of baby names and meanings
I haunt the marketplace and ebay and etsy for wig, eyes, clothes, shoes, etc.
I try not to obsess too much, but most of the time I'm not successful in focusing on other things...!
