1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Do you get obsessed when a new doll is coming?

Nov 9, 2009

    1. Of course, I cant stop thinking about it even when I first purchased my head. Im planning to get his body soon but its non stop checking your mail if the ems came or when the company would say its being shipped. D: Its so exciting, plus I tend to stare constantly at the pictures of my doll. xDD

    2. I usually don't get obsessive until the doll has been shipped. I have a bad habit of stalking the post box. Our mail man seems to come at totally inconsistent times, so sometimes I find myself checking the post a few times a day to see if one of those 'you have a package!' slip has arrived. Haha. But I have a small addiction to ordering things off the internet, so my obsession with the post is probably normal... Heh.

    3. Depends on what's coming.

Though these days, I'm more obsessed with waiting on art supplies to use on all my pretty dollies. :3

    4. You can bet on it! I´m waiting for a Musedoll Phai and I just can´t stop looking for clothes and topics with photos (Phai is a slim MSD so I don´t know exactly how she will look at the side of my other dolls).

It´s pretty normal for me to be *really* anxious when a new doll is coming, but with Phai I´m going crazy :fangirl: Visiting the Musedoll site everyday and dreaming about her, how I am going to make her make up and another little things.

She is my first MSD girl, I think that´s the reason of all this noise :aheartbea ;) :aheartbea

    5. I definitely get obsessed! I sew more and think about what that doll will look like!

    6. Oh definitely. It was worse once I found out she had shipped. I constantly was hitting refresh on FedEx's webpage tracking.

    7. Just ordered one yesterday and I'm thinking about outfits and whether I should make his policeman outfit too(because it has smaller parts and more detail which makes it tedious) or just stick with Shinsengumi and a couple of 21st century casual outfits.

I'm also wondering whether he'll be the first Saito on DoA. We've seen a number of Toshi's and Okita's, mostly due to a couple of handsome Volks molds:)

    8. Kenshin? Saito is my husband's favourite Kenshin character (often his screen name)

Why not have the more complicated outfit commissioned?

    9. That's right :)

I could have it made in a swap perhaps. But maybe next year. I'm entering my couple in this years fall Dolliverse swap for 18th century outfits. Like me, they're also crazy about the great J.S. Bach. Perhaps have to get Shinta a wig commisioned for that ;)
I have cosplayed the Shinsengumi outfit a couple of times, and even won a cosplay dating show getting hooked up with Rukia from Bleach! Isn't that hilarious :D

    10. Yes! So much. xD I look up owner pictures, the company pictures... I can just stare at them and be like:D haha.
I also look constantly at clothes, wigs, shoes, etc for them, as well as planning out photoshoots I can do with them, photostories, blah, blah, blah. I even plan the box opening out in my head. D:

    11. Definitely. I start trolling all kinds of sites looking for information about clothes and shoes, and I start buying them.

    12. Haha totally! My first doll is on her way and i already made her a bed ^^;;

    13. I was really obsessed, when I get my DR Antonio.
      I even dreamed about him.

    14. I guess I was obsessed? Well for me it's all just planning how I want my incoming doll to look. I'm very specific with the appearance of her hair (so far no luck), already bought her eyes to switch out of the defaults, researched face sculpts and how faceups will look on that sculpt.... m'yeah I guess it's pretty obsessive of me to achieve my doll's PERFECT look.

    15. Oh definitely! I just ordered my first two dolls and I check the page about five times a day waiting for a response! I think I might be going insane. >_<
The only thing that keeps me from stalking the page is looking for new stuff for my boys, even though they haven't gotten here yet. They haven't even shipped! BUT I just keep looking around and thinking, "Oooh! Candide could definitely use THAT." or "Well, I liked those eyes best, but maybe I should get both... you know, just in case."

    16. I ordered mine on Mint on Card and I'm just jumping around so much. XD I'm so excited for her that I don't know how many times I've gone wig hunting to make sure what I want to get her and such. I even planned to buy everything I need for her in the middle of August so that way when she arrives in September, she won't be bald! So yeah~ XD you're not the only one who's been planning and buying things ahead of time and getting excited for something that won't be here for a while longer.

    17. I get more excited than obsessed.
I mean yeah, it's hard to get it off your mind but I don't check the site a million times a day, unless I've gotten the shipping notice.
Then I'm on the tracking site constantlyyy. XD
I think the wait and preparing for the doll's arrival is part of the fun.
I have time to look at other owner pictures, contemplate clothes to buy, wigs, eyes, even a name or faceup if thats the case.
But that only occupies my time for so long before I get anxious again! :XD:

    18. I think I get the most obsessed before ordering and then waaaaaay after I've ordered, around the time I'm expecting a status change to shipping. Lately, because so many companies are coming out and releasing wonderful new dolls all the time now, I obsess over teaser pictures! "OMG!! This looks like it's going to be awesome!!I can't wait!! Do I need it??" I think that obsession may actually trump the obsessing over a doll I've already bought, lol. There's just so much expectation and hope riding on that new doll I guess.

    19. I'm still waiting for my new boy; he should be here in September, but I REALLY can't stop thinking about him! >_<;; xD It's frustrating in some ways, and exciting in others. :p I keep going back to the page I bought him from and just end up looking longingly at his pictures. xD

    20. I find it impossible not to be obsessed when a new doll is coming. It's even worse if I don't already have everything planned. I'll spend every second from order to reception trying to figure out what wig, what eyes, and what clothing would be best.
