1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you get obsessed when a new doll is coming?

Nov 9, 2009

    1. I get obsessed in a neutral sort of way, I suppose. I check the order status every day, look at his pictures, looking for clothing for him, but I don't get myself worked up about it. For the most part I keep him to the back of my mind, I don't think its really sunk in that I'm getting him yet. It'll all most likely change when the status changes to 'shipped' though.

    2. Oh yes, my first little one hina i was so thrilled with her that i showed every one her little picture at least twice

    3. Yes and no. I'm always thrilled when a new doll is coming, but I'm also very realistic and patient. You have to, with customs and all that. I have a big collection and sometimes I think I should get rid of one or two but then I cannot decide which one. So they all stay!

      Hugs,

      Jolanda

    4. OMG...YES YES YES!! I'm waiting for one from a doll friend in PA, is that you???
      xo, jen

    5. Oh yes, I am totally excited about getting a new doll. I really can't wait for her to arrive :)
I often think about it, searching for clothes, wigs etc. and I am just happy to have her soon ^^

    6. *refresh* Bugger, still in China.

      *refresh* Bugger, still in China.
      *refresh* Bugger, still in China.
*refresh* Why is it still in China!?
*refresh* Come on, I ordered it yesterday, it should be here by now!

    7. Definitely, but not in a particularly...excited way, I suppose. I'm good at waiting.

    8. New from company or second hand.. I'm always obsessively trying to keep an eye on it and I hate waiting.. I'm horribly impatient and this hobby definitely isn't helping it. I have plans I want done in the instant and yet need to wait.. so I try to use up my time best as I can during a wait.

When it's 'out for delivery' I'm waiting by the front door of my building if I'm home.. just cause our mail service is unreliable. >.<

    9. In a way...I forget about it but around once a day I suddenly remember that I've ordered a new doll and I get super excited for a few minutes, maybe check the status, and go on my way when there's no change...

    10. I get so frusterated waiting that I have to stop looking and pretend I am not getting a doll at all!!

    11. I think about an incoming doll pretty much daily. I love the anticipation ;)

    12. *uses resurrection stone on thread*

Nah, I only spend every minute of my life both day and night thinking about the doll. But OBSESSED? Pfft. No way.

      ;)

    13. Lol, this is a remarkably accurate description of how I'm dealing with waiting for my Kamau right now . Saving up for months, even years? Easy. Having to wait a few weeks for the doll to come home. Pure agony.

    14. Yep I do. I just want it hpto be here with me now!! >_< I'm happy about ordering my next doll (which is going ti be a Volks) however I am dreading the wait. ;_;

    15. bwahahahaha I concur... to their comment and yours!

I have to say I'm sooooo glad I'm not the only one! OMG I feel like I need to tear out my hair. I really want to buy to an in-stock doll just so I can have a dollie at home!

      *counts days in calendar*
*recounts... surely it won't take until OCTOBER?!*
*ok must have made a mistake, one more recount*
*big sigh & finally acceptance of long wait*
*plops down in front of computer*
      *YouTube box openings*
*Mint On Card... hmm... she's in stock... just maybe*
*DoA - keep your mind busy!*
*that didn't help let me bang my head on the wall*

I'm going to make a Lend-A-BJD website for people in our situation. Sort of ease the burden and make boku bucks.

    16. Definitively!
I have a new doll waiting in Japan and I can't ship her before some other items would arrive at the warehouse too. I check...at least twice a day, even if that site is only updated once.
Argggg so hard to wait ;)

    17. Ooooh yes. I'm preparing a lot and would actually like to do more (such as: start making clothes), but I have to keep myself in check because I don't know enough about measurements and so on - I'd be making stuff that doesn't fit -_-.

I'm wondering if it's worse because he's my first...

It's been one month and seven days since I placed my order. Oh boy, I hope it's not going to take another month :sweat. (I know, I know...)

    18. I even get obsessed when I plan to buy one. Yep, just the planning gets me all excited.
Thinking about when I have enough money, what extras to buy with it, looking for clothes and stuff.
In the process my enthousiasm does goes down a bit, but the moment I see the doll has been shipped out it all comes back again.

    19. Not until it gets shipped I think. Of course I get excited, but I spent the last 4 days with my face stuck to the window, waiting for the mail lady to bring a head I was waiting for. I get really restless and turn everything that has sound down so I am sure I will hear the doorbell xD
It's even worse when I get elaborate tracking. I check every 10 minutes probably.
I buy most of my dolls second hand, so I haven't had to go through the making process that often. I tend to be pretty patient tho, and just look for things the doll can wear and the likes. And once I've found that (if I was looking) I can just relax a bit. The actual obsessing starts when they leave the seller's house xD

    20. Overall not really. I do check my shipping status, and the doll does pop in my mind now and then, but as a whole I find other things to keep me occupied. I think it's more when the doll has shipped that I get antsy!
