1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you get obsessed when a new doll is coming?

Nov 9, 2009

    1. Except for the last line, this is just about how I was when I finally found out Stephen (my BBB Apollo) was being shipped. He was in two or three different places in China before finally finding his way over to the US. I checked all day and most of the night - even when it probably wasn't going to ship anywhere because they were closed. Whenever he moved I got super excited. When he hit the states I was even more nuts.

I'd heard that BBB was slow (it actually wasn't *terrible*) but I had originally wanted to buy my Apollo off of Junkyspot. They had him in NS for the longest time (and DDE had him in stock for a little while) but once I was finally was saved up, Junkyspot only had him in violet.

    2. well, a little bit..maybe..I'm actually excited now..I just purchased a body(no head for the meantime)..and it wasn't even shipped yet, but i'm already excited..:D

    3. I have to admit I get very obsessive when Iโ€™m even considering purchasing a new doll.. the worst part is I tend to buy secondhand dolls that have been modded somehow so I donโ€™t have to wait for the company to make whatever it is, itโ€™s normally decision > purchase > shipped very quickly.

Although sometimes dollโ€™s spring themselves on you when you least expect it and it means you have nothing ready, which is slightly where Iโ€™m at at the moment *lol* but while Iโ€™m considering the purchase I spend ages deciding on wigs and eyes more than anything else and am bound to change my mind a few times too ;)

Iโ€™ve got a girl on the way but at least I have everything wigs and eyes she can use, even if itโ€™s not the permanent solution

    4. Waiting my first ever BJD, of course I'm obsessed!!! :D I did spend a lot of the waiting time just buying stuffs for her like clothes, accesories, wigs, occasionally try to sew something together... However, I try to forget about it by watching animes because if I didn't, I would be bouncing off the walls hyper/frustrated/fangirling/twitching that the shipping notification is not here yet! :sweat and to top it off, I'm staycationing all the way for summer, so as you can see, I has a lot of time to obsess about it :XD:

    5. I'm not quite obsessed, maybe 1-3 days and then getting bored of waiting. lol

    6. oh, all the time. i drove all my friends crazy, spazzed about it, even screamed at the computer when my shipping status hadn't changed. and when it had, i found myself near tears and running around like an idiot. i'm 20 years old and acted like a 4 year old going to disneyland for the first time.
i'm pretty frugal, so mostly i just look at clothes and wigs and eyes and shoes that i'd like them to have, and every now and then i'd splurge, but i'm so scared that it won't fit them that i wait til i can measure them myself before considering.

    7. I'll admit get pretty obsessed, post in the waiting room constantly, check if it shipped 3 times a day (that kind of thing). Oh yeah, plus I keep staring at the pictures of the doll that's supposed to be coming. When I'm done doing all that I go look at clothes, wigs, and shoes for her. Then repeat the next day until she comes then do it all again after the new doll excitement. I'm definitely obsessive! ;)

    8. Oh, yeah. I tend to check a lot to see if the doll shipped, especially. And try to determine clothes/wigs/eye colors right away.

Fortunately, all my dolls so far have been from Blue Fairy which ships amazingly fast.

    9. well I'm up right now at 5:20am looking at future clothes for my incoming doll.. I think I have a problem..lol. What can I say its my first one and I want to make sure I have everything I need and don't feel conected to her because she has no eyes wig etc. I'm I justified?

    10. I thought that it would be easy to bear waiting for my second doll... Well, it's easier, but still... I really have the same 'problem' waiting for the second that I had waiting for the first: I'd like to prepare things for her, but I can't make clothes because I don't have her exact measurements and I have trouble estimating her scale. So once again, I'm just hoping fervently that she'll arrive really soon XD.

    11. I thought that not many people were so impatient xD I'm waiting almost 2 months for my I from Iple, so every day I go on the web to look my "order status".
I've already looked for clothes and shoes, but I keep looking a lot of things for her. Her wig is here now xP

I'm a bit desperate for this waiting >.<

    12. Heh, I haven't even bought my Senior Delf Howl yet and I am so excited (I'll be ordering him in November or December once I've made the money for him ^^). The problem is, I have an axniety disorder. With the excitement of my Howl, and getting a table for the London MCM Expo, and getting my uni work finished and all the work for the expo done my anxiety has been God awful. Heart palpatations are so not fun, and that's just one of the problems. I'll probably feel a lot better once the con is over and my Howl has been ordered @__@;; Then I can bother the Hell out of the 'waiting for your doll' forum. Hhh...

    13. yes!!! :o I have a doll coming in the mail I'm saaaad I have to wait another month before he comes in the mail!! I;m super excited though :D

    14. I am over-obsessed BEFORE I order them. in part because I am often debating whether I should get that one or this one and think about all of the possibilities of each dolls. even if I know for sure which one I'll get I start making wishlist of clothing and all ^^
      but once they are ordered, I try to forget about them and I avoid at all cost to stare a pictures of them. the last time I did that I got bored of the doll before it even got here xD;;;
edit: OH! and I avoid thinking about any other dolls I'd want next. or I get more exited about that one and sell the one I am waiting for the minute it gets to me to get the other one :sweat

    15. For my first two dolls I wasn't obsessed at all, but thats because they came sooner than I expected. With my third doll hes taking longer. I was fine for the first two months but now I'm flipping out and obsessing over him, its driving me nearly insane. I just bought a bed for him two days ago

    16. I haven't even ordered it yet, and yes, I feel that way. I'm pulling extra hours at work and at a second job for the sheer fact of putting money towards a specific doll. I'll probably have the money to buy her next friday. I haven't even made the order yet, but I'm spending soo much time looking at pictures of her, and looking up details and facts and spazzing and planning.

    17. omg i was horrible when Kloey was on the way (aka being paid off). i was hunting down everything MSD size i could find that would fit trying to find that look and idea that was perfect for her :P yup. and i'm already doing the same for a new doll i dont even have yet nor have i even ordered her xD

    18. I get really obsessed before I buy a doll, trying to pick out wigs and eyes, and deciding what kind of clothes to make. Then, the period between paying for and getting the shipping notice, I usually don't even think about it to much. But as soon as the shipping notice shows up in my inbox... I check it obsessively, even when I know it won't have updated XD

    19. Let's just say "obsessed" would be quite the understatement. XD

    20. Yes!!!! I've looked through the bjd database multiple times, done google images searches, and once, I almost chased after the mail man's truck like it was the ice cream truck or something! xD
