1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you have a blog or website JUST for dolls?

Mar 9, 2013

    1. I started making YouTube videos about them, although I don't have my bjds yet. I blog about general crafting and doll stuff, too. My hobbies tend to become so entwined with my life that I can't really see myself keeping them separated.

    2. My Instagram is almost all dolls, though I occasionally stick a picture of my dog or miniature crafts in there too. I try to focus on BJDs, including DoA off topic BJDs. No fandom stuff, no drama, no personal stuff, just doll related random photos, whatever I feel like posting on any given day.

I also roleplay my dolls on Facebook, but I don't have a particular page for it. Each of my playable characters has their own profile, where I only accept other dolls as friends in character.

    3. I made a separate tumblr and instagram account just for dolls partially because I wanted to have a nice, neat, all-doll feed to scroll through and partially because....I personally would rather follow people for their dolls exclusively rather than all of their personal posts and doll posts mixed together. Obviously everyone can do what they want with their own accounts blahblahblah but I would much rather keep it all organized :sweat

    4. My instagram turned into dolls only/mostly and I want to have a youtube too.

    5. I have many accounts. facebook, instagram, tumblr. they house all my collections. I collect a lot of different kinds of dolls bjds being among them.

    6. I have a blog (and a semi-dormant tumblr) dedicated to dolls and figures, but not exclusively to BJDs. I started out just documenting my collection (I had just moved and it seemed like a fun thing to do while I was unpacking), but eventually started reviewing new purchases and doing photoshoots and other related posts.

I'm less active in that than I was a couple of years ago, but I still dip into it from time to time.

    7. I do on tumblr. I mostly reblog other people's dolls that I like but I'm hoping to post more pictures of my own dolls once I have a decent camera

    8. hey I was wondering if anyone had a doll blog thinking of making my own but thought It'd be pretty pointless if there was no audience for it also though this could be a good place for others with blogs to share them

      let me know :)

    9. I used to have a doll-only blog on Tumblr, but ended up dropping it because the Tumblr doll community was...well, less than savory, in my opinion. Too much drama and negativity.

I know some people have blogs with their own URLs or on websites like Weebly or Wix, and I think those are really cool, especially for artists. I might be interested in making one if I ever had some spare time for it, but for now I'm happy just here on DoA!

    10. You know, I always hear negative comments about Tumblr, but I am there and I don't see any of that stuff. It is possible to tailor your feed and experience and stay away from any drama and negativity. Don't follow people who reblog that stuff, don't reblog it yourself, block anyone you don't want to be involved with. Sure there are some serious jackbags on there, but you don't need to engage everyone on the internet who is wrong. I create the experience I want and it works for me. (my tumblr link is in my sig)

BJDs have an equally long history of doll blogging. It has always been a part of the hobby. Some people have stand alone websites, others use Tumblr, Instagram, Flickr, Youtube, even LJ still has some. There is def an audience for blogging.

    11. I know lots of people who use actual blogging sites to post their dolls! Personally I just stick to tumblr because I can't be bothered to learn how to set an actual blog up and I really enjoy it! There are people who want to start drama and discourse, just like any other social site, but if you stick to the positive and pro-artist circles, you'll meet tons of friendly and talented people who will 100% want to talk dolls with you :) I've only been in the online community part of the hobby for a few months now and I've already made a few friends on tumblr. Doll blogs, vlogs, and other online doll journals totally have an audience though! They were just as fascinating and informative to me as a newbie as they are to me now <3

    12. I always wondered about this, because I only followed people who were nice people with awesome dolls and no real drama! I guess it mostly snuck in when I would actively search for certain sculpts or faceups or something. I never argue with people online (it's even more pointless than arguing in person), so it was super annoying to have to scroll through so many weirdly negative posts and long rants when I was just looking for pretty dolls. (I also just kind of dropped the rest of my blogs because the entirety of Tumblr was getting on my nerves. But that's just my experience, I'm not saying no one should enjoy Tumblr!)

I know it's not technically a blogging site, but maybe I should try Instagram? I've heard good things about the community on there, and it seems more focused on photos than text. Maybe it'd be better suited for me!

    13. @KiyoshiSenshi IG may be a better venue for your needs. I feel like Tumblr is a place I can blog and reblog other people's work that I admire to create a feed of things I want to see and remember. IG seems to be more about what is yours and what you create. I feel like if I made an IG, I'd have to actually get around to photographing my dolls again or working on my own doll stuff? Maybe I'll get motivated some time. :sweat

    14. @KiyoshiSenshi I also found that Tumblr was not for me, for the same reasons, but I am on Instagram and I like it a lot! I mostly only follow people who stick to doll stuff, or my friends so I don't mind their non-doll stuff, but it saves me from having to see all the rants, negativity and off topic stuff. I haven't had to block anyone, and if someone is posting stuff I find offensive or not interesting, I just unfollow.

    15. I have a personal/hobby blog on tumblr which focuses mainly on BJDs. I plan to make a blog specifically FOR my dolls in the future too.

    16. I really use naver blogs occasionally, but I use Twitter almost every day!
Twitter is more convenient than Instagram and it is good to have immediate feedback~ : )

    17. this is my Wordpress doll blog >0<

      The Story

    18. Well on my Deviant Art I also do a bit of writing and a lot of it includes my doll as the main character. I've also made a blog on blogger about dolls in general like my grails and anything I want to save and get.

    19. My Deviant'art for the begining, but when my doll's collection will grow, I think I open a blog just for them, yes.

    20. Not yet, but eventually I would love to! My dolls are based on my book characters, so I'd have a lot to discuss about them in general. Or just take a picture or five haha!
