1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you have a doll limit?

Apr 29, 2016

    1. If I can find them used there will be 11 for me that I have ideas for. Probably not of you have ideas and know what you want eventually. Now clothes, no limit!

    2. My limit is a function of space and time. My space is limited and I want to be able to keep all my dolls out so I can enjoy and interact with them. If I don't have the space for a new one I want, I look to see what I can let go of. Having a restriction either natural or self-imposed has often been an impetus for creative ideas for me.

    3. I thought I have. But now that I have 7 dolls and 7 floating heads I realize that I really haven't a limit... :doh

    4. I used to, but I broke out of that this year! Oops! Nine was my limit and now I am up to 13 (not all arrived yet though). I just need to rework my living space, otherwise they'll end up having to stay in their boxes most of the time.

    5. I don't have a limit set up, but I don't foresee myself getting more than say, ten dolls.

    6. I'm kinda on the same page as kirei, but it's hard to decide completely on which route to take. I love the 1/6 size and would want to make props and a box to carry her and spoil her but then... I also love how amazing clothes look on 1/4 or bigger, but don't think I'd enjoy handling that big of a doll. She would be more of a fashion doll and possibly less cherished, so I'm entirely unsure. I set a firm two doll limit for myself (two girls within same height - friends) before even getting a doll and already I'm wavering, oi~

    7. I think, I'm on the same page with you.

Right now I have one doll and one 100% animal bjd-pet with another pet ordered and saving up for another girl )) We'll see how far it will take me ))

    8. I don't know if I have a limit. Lord knows I have a lot of Vintage Ken & Fashion Royalty Homme. But with my BJD's it just depends on my room. I have 4 but 2 more are on order, so that's 6....

    9. We shall see where the BJD life takes us.

    10. I only buy one a year. I have been in the hobby eight years, so I have eight dolls.

    11. just one doll and a bunch of flaoting heads :)

    12. Wow! How do you manage it?

    13. When I first bought a doll, I thought "Ok, I'll get this one, her brother and her little sister and no more!"...
lol, how wrong I was. (I mean, I only have 4 and a head on the way in the end, but my wishlist is sooo long.)

    14. From the first time I found out about BJD's, I knew I wanted to have a nice little family. I don't think I could handle over 6 though, so that will probably be my max!

I feel the same way! *_* I feel bad for my boy because he has no one to pose with!

    15. Wow... I originally thought that I was just going to get two brothers and leave it at that, but... Three years later I now have 12.... and a few more on my wishlist, ha ha I've given up a limit to how many I will have since I keep falling in love with sculpts *_*

    16. At first I thought one or two would be enough...but here I am with six dolls and three floating heads (and another head on the way) so I guess no I really don't have a limit...That being said I will not buy more dolls if limited space requires I keep them in their boxes. I like having my crew out where I can see them.

    17. I did have, until i have just got more and more engrossed in the hobby. I thought i would only ever have a couple. Now i have ten (one being listed currently) and two more on the way. I don't have much space to display my dolls either, so something will have to give at some point. I like all my dolls to be out, or i feel i should sell those not being appreciated enough.

    18. I thought so, but appreantly I was wrong

    19. Maybe 3? I've only had 1 for a few years now, and have been considering buying my second one recently. I'm very particular about what sculpts I like though, so I can't really picture myself needing more than 3. :whee:

    20. Being a college student, currently living half the year in a dorm and half the year at home -- I really don't want a big collection to cart back and forth between the two.

And since I'm moving out into an apartment with my boyfriend and one of his friends soon, I really don't want a big collection -- I'm scared they'd get broken or lost in the process of moving!

I'm thinking 5 or so will be my max, a large enough collection to have some variety, but not enough to be overwhelming.
