1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you have a really long wish-list?

Nov 17, 2010

    1. Until recently I had about four of five dolls on the list. I've decided to stop thinking about it and just keep within the range I'm happiest with, in terms of numbers living in my abode! There are other dolls I would like, but I am not in any rush at present :)

    2. For just dolls, it's very short. I have four dolls on my wishlist, but only two of them are certain and I don't really even want them for a few years (they'll be children to my current dolls after they get out of their teen years) and the other two are just maybes, like I'll probably get them if I get lucky enough to have the cash all at once to do it, but I'm not going to specifically save for them. There's a fifth one I'm considering, but not 100% sure yet. I'm considering reshelling one of my girls but not sure I really want to yet.

My list of STUFF is never ending. I have a ton of websites and sales pages bookmarked of clothing, shoes, wigs, and props I want. I slowly buy it as I have the money...which is why I never have that huge chunk to outright buy dolls. >.>

    3. My wishlist (I keep it in a spreadsheet on my desktop) fluctuates. There's a few dolls that have been on it for a while, and some random new ones that come and go. Right now we're at 33...but the ones that I haven't come up with a character or specific need for might go away.

    4. My wish list changes all the time, though there are a few dolls that have always been on there that I probably won't ever end up getting (rarity/money/timing/etc). I don't really keep a solid list though, because I do change my mind a lot, and tend to fall in and out of love pretty quickly.

    5. I do and don't - on the one hand there's a list of dolls I've seen that I think are gorgeous and I really want, but on the other, I have this feel like I don't want to have "too many" dolls. So them being on my wish list doesn't necessarily mean I'm making any steps towards owning them.

    6. I set my doll limit to six to ten dolls. Although there are so many that I love, I just can't imagine owning over that many. I love seeing others with huge collections but I only have a handful that are must haves for me.

    7. I have a fairly modest wish-list of five dolls or so at any one time as I often substitute one doll with another, meaning the list never really adds up to an astronomical figure :3nodding:

    8. I have about 45 on my wish-list, but ah, half of them are just ones I like that I have no real plans for, I don't think I'll actually get half of 'em

    9. Like everyone else, my list changes a bit, but it is very short. My grail dollie was Sionna Fomhar. In December, one became available on ebay and then shortly after, Fairyland did a reissue. I had enough cash but I hesitated and decided that it was too much to spend since I had 2 dolls on order already. I really love the cat dolls, and have really enjoyed the pictures people have posted. I surprised myself since I like the ones without wigs. On my wish-list currently is a Cheshire cat and Charlotte from Pipos. I hope to go to Doll North this May (have ordered the tickets), and if nothing catches my eye, I think I will proceed with these purchases.

    10. My list actually stays pretty consistent! I'll add a new doll every couple of months perhaps, but that's usually because I have a character that I wanted to shell into a doll anyway and I finally found the right sculpt for them. At the moment my wishlist has 48 dolls on it! Which... I actually hadn't realized before counting a moment ago. Yikes.

    11. Thank goodness mine is pretty short at the moment considering all the fab choices we have. I want to concentrate on the dolls I have for a while. This is all subject to change though at a second's notice.

    12. For the first time, my wishlist is actually shorter than the list of the dolls I own. I used to have a lot of dolls on my wishlist but then I realized that even though I adore some of those sculpts, I would never actually own them.

    13. I currently have 27 dolls on my wish list. At this point, I want so many different ones that I find it impossible to decide which one to start saving up for first. But honestly, I have so much fun looking at and dreaming about different sculpts that I really don't mind my impossibly long list.

    14. I consider my wishlist too long. Its about 6 dolls all together, which is a ton when yoi start off only wanting one doll. I just cant fathom spending over 1000 on dolls, but i almost have. I think the dolls on my wishlist are worth it though.

I have tiers for wishlist though, the top tier has four dolls in and i only need one left. The other three or more are dolls that i must have, but i can wait a long time for.

    15. I have a HUGE wish list but only(ha!) 6 or so dolls that I'm currently saving for at the moment. The ones on my 'saving for' list are basically 'next up' and basically a backlog of dolls I actually have plans for. Some I've wanted for a while, like my Ultimate Grail Doll Ringdoll Spencer or a DollLove Cecilia who will be a character doll I've been planning for almost 2 years(though I'm actually falling out of love with her so she's been bumped down a few lines), while others are more recent adds but have to wait until I get the dolls higher on my list first. I tend to add any doll I can see myself buying and having some sort of design or character for to my Someday list, but the dolls who I am actively planning to make specific projects out of take priority. I'm not optimistic that I'll get down to my Someday wish list anytime soon, but that's probably a good thing since the dolls I'm actually planning for are ones I KNOW I want, while the Someday dolls are those I might like, someday. I have to be careful not to look into any of the Someday dolls as if I'm not careful they could become part of my 'next up' list. I'll probably reach my limit at some point and not be able to buy or have the space for anymore dolls, but for now I have a system and it works. Hey, it's not like I can save up that fast anyway~

    16. My wishlist is going to be long forever. Companies will come out with new sculpts and I add them all onto my wishlist. I love bjd and my wishlist will be limitless until the day I die. I do keep two wishlists just to be organized. I put dolls I really want or need on one wishlist and dolls that are old or limited on another. The wishlist with limited dolls always change because limited dolls come out whenever! It's all fun. :)

    17. i'm with bug-culture! my wishlist is usually only for characters whose shell i've pinned down, so it generally doesn't grow or change unless i decide to reshell a character or (yikes!) add a new character ^__^ right now i have 6 dolls on my wishlist + i have to find a body for nicky...

    18. I have just gotten bitten by the BJD bug... Until now I have never had a long wish list, usually I would all of a sudden say I want a doll and then it would come up for sale or auction and I would get it. Every time I got another doll I would say that's it, I have all the dolls I want. And then a week, month, or more I would see something else. I truly hope that's not the way with BJD's,
I hope to keep only two BJDs in the house.
I have just ordered MyDolling HeeAh and she will be my first BJD!!! Any others that come to live here will be second hand!

    19. Oh yeah... I have an incredibly long wishlist. I'm serious about getting them all too, since this is the only hobby I'm indulging in right now. I want my house to be full of dolls and glass cabinets~ U wU)

    20. I have a long wishlist! Yesterday it was at 28, but today I fell in love with three more... I keep having to re-prioritize!
