1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you have any "doll friends?"

Jun 19, 2011

    1. I have one friend who owns a few dolls and I really like when she's brings them with her anytime I see her.

    2. Funny how things work. I met my dolly friend because i bought an item from her on easy. We quickly became friends and hope we can meet at future blythecon events. Otherwise , the local doll meet up people are friendly . Its great to see people who enjoy the hobby.

    3. I have a couple, and we talk every day, but they're into the more stylized dolls while I like the realistic sculpts. We do share ideas and do lots of GO's though, so I'm very thankful to have them. :)

    4. Hi! I have one friend at work that we share a strong love for ABJD's, and my granddaughter (16)loves the DIM Kassia I gave her for Xmas and 15th birthday. But, we wish we could find more in our area to share the love and interest of ABJD's. If any in Missouri City or Sugar Land Texas, Please speak up. Would love to meet you.

    5. I have one that lives where I do. We've known each other since highschool. At first I didn't think much of BJDS, but once I started playing with her boys, I thought they were pretty neat. Then I saw DZ Edward, fell in love with him and the rest is history. Her and I ended up having opposite tastes in BJDs. She likes smaller, more boyish dolls and she likes tan skin. I prefer older, more mature boys and I love white-skinned dolls. I probably will only ever own white skinned dolls.

    6. I have several doll friends locally. My SO is into dolls too (I hooked her), though she doesn't bond with them as strongly as I do, which is okay. My downstairs dorm neighbor at college was the one that got me into dolls, and she introduced me to more local doll peeps to hang out with and I infected a couple people myself.

I love having friends I can talk to about them and that have them too. I started with a vinyl doll and moved onto resin, and was thought by the same person how to care for both types of dolls. I've learned a lot from her, like how to restring, clean, maintain, face up, and care for dolls. Now a lot of people come to me for help with dolls.

    7. I had one though I have been to a few meet ups. Unfortunately, we aren't close anymore but if we do talk it's about dolls.

    8. My friends think their cute and like mine but I really don't have friends who have dolls of their own, wish I did though. My mom likes them tough she had collected porcelain dolls for many years and BJDs wern't that different to her. Nice to have someone though ^^

    9. Retrobox ♥
We have shared the passion for a long time, only I didn't have the money o:
Then Retro gifted me my dolly Fable c:

    10. Sadly, no. Not really. :(
I've tried getting my sister into the hobby but it's too expensive for her and she's more interested in figures.

    11. I do not know anyone else who has dolls. In fact, I never had even seen a bjd in person until I got my first one.

    12. I have a couple of people I talk to about dolls, but I don't know if I'd really say they are friends. More like acquaintances.

    13. Me too! It's a shame I don't have any close dolly friends, though. It'd be interesting to see more than just the dolls I have!

    14. I'm blessed to have a good number of friends who collect various kinds of dolls. It helps coming from a gateway drug kind of community with my little ponies. I don't really know anyone locally who completely understands, so thats a bit of a bummer.

    15. My girlfriend, My grammy, and my grandpa. None of them have dolls, and are sort of spectators...though my g/f may get a doll once I complete my second doll.

Other then that? Er....no. I don't know anyone Irl.

    16. I'm slowly trying to get one for my friends to get one ^ ^~

    17. I don't really have any doll friends most people I know don't really care or think they are weird
The only people I know who don't are my dad and my boyfriend because they are awesome lol but I hope to make friends on here and hopefully I can make some doll friends in my area :)

    18. No I don't, that's why I like coming to site like these and seeing all the wonderful post. I long for someone in the area to become a BJD friend! It would be awesome.

    19. One of my oldest friends also collects dolls although hers are off topic dollies, it's nice to have someone to talk to about doll stuff who gets excited too and understands instead of just thinking they're weird or creepy.

    20. nooo. but my friends don't think it's weird, which is good! they think the dolls are cute, but i wouldn't consider them doll friends.
