1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you have any "doll friends?"

Jun 19, 2011

    1. nope :( my friends dont really get the whole doll thing unfortunately. they see it as whatever makes me happy is what matters but not the emotional attachment. i would love to meet someone who shared the passion in real life.

    2. I have lots of on-line dolly friends, friends that I think the world of and have 'known' for many years now. I have only ever met one of my close dolly friends in person, she is a lovely friend who lives in the UK and I've now met up with her twice. Apart from that, I've no local doll friends who I meet up with.

    3. Only on the net, I don't have any in person. Weirdly though we don't really talk about our dolls much, we've become friends in general so the dolls end up being the last thing we talk about lol

    4. Nope. I'm new to the community so I don't even have any online friends :( Would appreciate some company or a group to meet up with, eventually.

    5. I wish I did.. ; A;
I have one friend in a different state, who I always talk about dolls with, and she has a few herself, but no BJDs, and it doesn't seem like she'll be getting one anytime soon.
She's even considering selling the dolls that she /does/ have.
      Le sigh.
I wish there were meet ups around here,
      I'd love to go.

    6. My elder sister! She has a BJD girl.
One on my friend who is a great face up paint artist, I never worry about paying for face up XD

    7. Yeah, I have lots of friends, who likes BJDs and have some themselves ^^

    8. I only have 3 bjd friends so far. But only 1 actively play with me.

    9. Some of my friends really like my dolls, but I don't have any non virtual friends who actually collect BJDs. I have some Facebook friends in a BJD group who I've gotten very close to though. We're planning a meet-up because we actually live close to each other. I think it's going to be really fun to meet other people who like BJDs as much as I do...

    10. I met one of my best friends through the hobby! We started talking about dolls on facebook and it turned out we lived fairly close to each other. That was an awesome experience.

    11. I have a few "Dolly Friends". Some I knew before, and we fell into the hobby together, one was an online pal that I'd met through a different hobby, but got to meet IRL thanks to doll meets. After I moved, the only local friends I've made have all been dolly people from meets.

    12. Nope. I live in a small-ish town and so it seems pretty unlikely.

    13. I have a few online doll friends, but currently, I don't have any in person ones. Hopefully, when I am able to attend a meetup someday, I'll be able to make some doll friends who live closer to me. It happened with my fandoms when I started attending Conventions, so I imagine the same will happen when I attend meetups. :)

    14. I started with other types of dolls and it was through the local BJD group on facebook I started BJDs. I have made awesome friends through that. A couple I have gotten really close with . It is nice to have someone to tall dolls with. Heck I have bought 2 of my crew from her and so many clothes and other stuff I have lost count. Its awesome

    15. None of my friends are into the hobby themselves, but my BFF enjoys messing with my dolls. She doesn't have any BJDs herself, nor does she have any desire for one. However, we both enjoy goofing off with the dolls. She especially enjoys styling their wigs.

    16. My mom is the only person I really know that collects dolls in real life. So outside of family I have no doll friends :(.

    17. :(Nope, none. Most everyone I know likes reborns and things like that.

    18. Yes I do have a bunch ^.^
I met one in High school, and the other in meetings.
I'm lucky because I live really close to the France, so I can meet people in both country :D

    19. I live in Bowling Green. I have yet to see one other person around here who had BJD or knew what I was talking about. XD I'm sure they're out there somewhere...

    20. My sister got into them right after I told her about them. I'm the trendsetter in my family.
