1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you have any "doll friends?"

Jun 19, 2011

    1. I sadly don't have any dolly friends right now. I try to approach people on Tumblr but I am just too anxious. All my other friends are fine with BJDs but not into collecting them.

    2. I sadly do not. ;3; I'm really shy and I have Social Anxiety so it's really hard for me to make friends. Especially people who are also in this hobby. (I haven't seen any locally. >ยท>)

    3. I have 0 doll friends in the Internet world. I have 3 doll friends in real life. We are all very private about our dolls or collections. Yeah that is pretty much it.

    4. My best friend got me into dolls! I originally wasn't big on the idea of bjds when she first introduced me to them... though of course it wasn't long before I caved. But yeah it's been really nice to have someone to chat about dolls with and plan dolly dates and visits. I don't think bjds, for as wonderful as they are, would be nearly as enjoyable to me if it weren't for my dolly-buddy <3

    5. I do! I have 3 dollie friends! One of them actually inspired me to get my own doll because I was fascinated by her YoSD. Most of us go to high school together and occasionally we will have little doll meets and craft things for them.

    6. Yes! Dolly friends are the best, they really get it, while my other friends just...don't ;)

    7. I have one local friend who is into bjds, but we don't hang out much sadly. I don't really have any online friends, but I'd love to make some! :D

    8. My roommate and best friend is saving up to buy her first resin BJD because of my ever-growing collection.

    9. Yes! The best part about the BJD hobby for me is getting to know dolly friends! It's pretty amazing how the hobby brings together people from different backgrounds and geographic locations, and I'm really thankful for it :chibi

    10. I don't know anyone else who has BJDs. I have dolly friends with OT dolls and I am working to convert them!:)
But at least they understand dolls in general and we can share discussions on costuming etc. I know one person at work who may be ordering a doll soon. I am hoping to meet some more people in this hobby.

    11. Of course I have some dollfriends and I think, this is so important. What if you just love your dolls, take some great pictures of them, bought some new clothes, shoes, wigs etc and nobody of your "usual" friends are interested in that? That's sad! :atremblin

    12. That is so great! I only have my grandmother and my aunt. They love porcelain dolls but my aunt is thinking of getting into BJDs!

    13. Unfortunately I don't have any doll friends :'( Online or otherwise...
I think it would be great to have friends to talk to about doll stuff though, kinda boring my non-doll friends with doll talk haha.
But I guess the forum is a good way of making some doll friends! ^^

    14. Nope, my only friends are you here at DOA. That's why I joined, to have someone sharing my interest with, and to learn more about dolls

    15. As sad as it is i have 0 bjd friends :(

    16. You have now, my friend :thumbup

    17. WOOO FRIENDS

    18. I had never seen a BJD in person until I bought one... My mom and I became really interested in them a few months ago, but I doubt many people collect them around here, so I'm sure it will be just her and I. :)

    19. I made an awesome doll friend back when we both lived in Florida, about when I first started collecting. About ten(!!!) years later, we live in different states but still talk and visit whenever we can.

    20. Sadly I don't  I don't have many friends in general really because I'm so shy and a recluse :XD: I do however, really enjoy chatting to people on the internet about my hobbies :kitty2 If I ever had the chance to go to a doll meet up I'd love to, but alas I live in a tiny coastal town full of surfers and old people :|
