1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you have any "doll friends?"

Jun 19, 2011

    1. Unfortunately, I don't have any doll friends. I'm hoping that I can make more friends on doa, but more so around the Delaware area.

    2. I have a handful of friends in real life who are into BJDs (one got me into it, and we converted the other two), but I've met a ton more awesome BJD people online!

    3. Luckily, I managed to trick my best friend into this hobby. Sadly, she has more dolls then I do. But I'm catching up! I've also managed to get my fiance into the hobby as well. I pointed out that he could have one of his characters that we write about in 3d form and he was on board after that. I do also consider my meet folks to be friends, even though I don't visit as often as I'd like and trust me when I say I'll be sad when I move to Georgia. ;_;

      I've met a lot of awesome people through this hobby. And hope to continue doing so.

    4. Yes, but only one. I wouldn't start this hobby without her and it's so good to have her:)

    5. My best friend also collects dolls! We share a lot of other interests so it wasn't terrible surprising that we both ended up liking bjds. She tends to prefer smaller sizes than me, but that actually works out really well because there are a lot of smaller dolls I like the look of but don't think I'd give enough attention to. :)

    6. My 2 bestfriends got in to the BJD hobby shortly after me. One still has not received her own doll(s) but she happily plays, poses, and makes stuff for mine. I guess that is why they are my friends; we like similar things (:

    7. My best friend. We get together a lot with them so the dolls can "hang out" and we can do photoshoots together at the park of somthing :)

    8. :D I do! My bestfriend is the one that actually got me into dolls. She schooled me before I bought my first doll.

    9. No, :( I wish I could. My friends only liking it but don't wanna have it. But I do got lots of lovely online friends that have the same hobby. And here I am thanks to them, they also help me many times and support me. :aheartbea

    10. I have one very good doll friend. I managed to pull her in with me when I got my doll. She is a very close friend of mine and she is my co-worker and she lives next door to me so we have a lot of fun together. With working together and living next door she's always close enough to grab for any occasion.

      I go over and take pictures of our dolls together sometimes and when I go to the doll store in Tokyo I have someone to go with me and give me advice on which outfits are cute. It's handy too because I have an extra pair of hands if I need them to take pictures or do something for her. I filmed her opening one of her dolls for example. It's also nice because we can easily combine orders when we want to order from the same place. I'll miss her when I move away since then I'll be alone and all my non-doll friends will have to listen to me gush about him instead. :D

    11. None of my friends are into this hobby. Some of them don't even like dolls... others do like (mainly guys LOL)

    12. one of my best friend got a BJD because of me :) she´s not that much into the hobby but i can talk with her about it and sometimes we meet just for sewing dollcloth and such things :)

    13. My boyfriend collects comic book character figures and statues so he doesn't mind my doll collecting at all. He's the only one though, which is why I'm here! LoL :fangirl:

    14. One of my very good RL friends also went into the hobby after me so I'm very glad to have her! > v<
      We get to do neat stuff together, and our dolls belong to the same story... we can also order things together and save on shipping which is actually quite the issue over here.

      I also know of a person or two that would either like to own a bjd or know what they are but they don't really count since they don't have dolls yet xD;

    15. Well no one that lives near me but I met some BJd owners when i went to MegaCon 2012. :D I was about to cry from happiness since I had never met anyone else that had BJDs in my state.

    16. My best friend is a doll person. I bought my first doll after I got to hold her Dollmore Kid! He was and is he cutest thing, an i knew i had to have one.

    17. I do, 2 of my friends are bjd owners and one of them is helping me on getting my own for the next year (lending me her paypal account since I don't have one).

    18. nope.. i dont have one... got few friends and told them they are like "wow amazing!" but i can see in their eyes.. they are saying... "what is this girl thinking?!" so i stopped sharing

    19. My only doll friend is my fiancé. I would definitely love to have more doll friends, especially a male friend or two since I feel a bit out of place being a male owner.

    20. I have absolutely no offline doll friends. I do have a number of online doll friends, though.
