Do you have one doll way more spoiled than the rest?

Feb 4, 2020

    1. Definitely my first msd body Pip! Since he was my only doll for quite a while I bought loads of clothes for him. I have a plastic set of drawers just for my msd stuff but it’s mostly his with some of my girl Sofie’s stuff :XD:

    2. My Doll Love YouYou is the most spoiled.
She’s got: 3+ wigs, 3+ sets of eyes, 2 pairs of shoes, and 4 outfits :abambi:
She is also the most photographed and the only one who has travelled with me. She’ll always be my easiest to handle doll.
Everyone else is has... either one outfit or at least part of an outfit? And I guess a wig and eyes :thumbup

    3. Monetarily speaking, my Doll Leaves Maya has had the most spent on him between clothing and props a̶n̶d̶ ̶a̶ ̶n̶e̶w̶ ̶b̶o̶d̶y̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶s̶o̶o̶n̶ ̶a̶ ̶n̶e̶w̶ ̶K̶D̶F̶4̶5̶ ̶s̶h̶e̶l̶l̶. I think roughly half of my box is things for him at this point. I didn't even realize how much he had until I went to check just now, haha. Whoops.

    4. my Doll Family-A Angel, Nie Huaisang, is definitely the most spoiled. He has currently at least six wigs, several outfits, at least two pairs of shoes, a diorama being built, and a few props. Second to that is a yet to come Doll Family-H Yue Jian who has a couple of wigs, a few outfits... and that's likely to increase once he's actually here:XD:

    5. I plan for both of my boys (DZ SC Hal and KDF Diez) to share their outfits but since I received the DZ doll first, I'm sure he'll end up getting a lot more spoiled than Diez :sweat
He already has tons of accessories and outfits and I've yet to buy anything for Diez- I'm a bad father xwx

    6. My first doll, Melody. She's my littlest, hence making clothes the cheapest, and she's naturally adorable so everything is just precious on her. She's got triple the number of wigs, outfits, and accessories of literally anyone else in my collection.

    7. That would be my DearSD Coco, my favorite doll in my collection. She just looks so cute in frilly, pastel-colored dresses... makes me want to provide her with a big wardrobe so she can wear a different dress like every week :XD:
Currently, she has five beautiful outfits just for herself and it makes me so happy to see how much of a difference changing outfits makes.

    8. I have one boy, named Jack, who definitely gets more affection than the others. I think it was because he went through a lot before he came to be in my possession. I know he went through at least three previous owners. There might have been even more. At one point an owner somehow broke his head and then hot glued it back together. :shudderHe's in his forever home now and just needs a lot of love. :aheartbea

    9. I cant stop buying frilly lolita dresses even though my crew is mainly boys

    10. I have a group of dolls that is more spoiled than the others. My oni family! I buy way too much kimono for them, and accessoires.

    11. Yea, I also have one doll which gets everything. Because he is the best looking on pictures, that's the secret)

    12. Yes, but not constantly. I have periods when I am more inspired of one character or sculpt and I tend to pay more attention to that doll. Maybe I will also buy more stuff to them and spend more time doing stuff with the doll. But I then my attention might switch to another doll. So I guess they all are equally spoiled, but different times.

    13. I'm currently working on putting together a hybrid that will eventually be a character from a show that I'm a huge fan of, and that character is notoriously known for his ostentatious three piece suits. Now, while I would love to have miniature, commissioned versions of the iconic suits, I think that settling for a few of Freedom Teller's beautiful, tailored three piece suits will do the trick for now. Of course, I'd have to get their button down shirts, oxford shoes, and ties as well...

That being said, his wardrobe is going to very quickly become the most expensive wardrobe out of all of my dolls once I catch their next pre-ordering period. Goodness, I don't even spend this much on my own clothes.

The rest of my dolls wear casual clothes from shops like Alice's Collection, and sellers on Etsy-- jeans, tee shirts, leggings, skirts; nothing crazy-- not that there's anything wrong with that, its just that its their style.

Do you have a particular doll that you spoil more than others? Is there a special reason that you spoil this doll so much? Do you ever feel guilty for spending more on this doll than on your other dolls?

(And while we're at it, if you have any suggestions on patterned three piece suits, I'd love to hear them!)

    14. Yes, but the doll I spoil most rotates!

Right now, my newest boy Brendan is getting spoiled. I've been sewing for him a lot because he's just so much fun to sew for! It's impossible to find the style he needs premade (a lot of hooded jackets and cardigans with fashion tears/holes, scarves, beanies, heartagram shirts and jackets), he needs a very specific style of skater shoes, and he wears a ton of necklaces, bracelets and rings so I've been making and buying a lot of those too. He also needs some loose black jeans, if I can ever find them! I don't have the skills to make them. To top it all off, he needs a skateboard and I am seriously regretting selling the 1/3 skateboard I had a few years back. He probably needs an iPhone too. I knew he'd be a brat, but he's robbing me blind. :XD:

    15. LOL! Story of my life.

These days, it's my LLT boys with the ballerino bodies. They're so gorgeous, every time I see something unique or elegant designed specifically for them, I just have to grab it. And yeah, I could probably buy three outfits for myself and have spare change compared to what just one of their tailored outfits cost. I like to tell myself that it's worth it, because my daughter will inherit everything and love it just as much as I do...but that's kind of a lame justification. :XD:

    16. My Parker is my most spoiled doll. She not only has a lot of clothes and footwear, but she has two horses, a bike, homemade skates, a skateboard and lots of stuffed animals. She also travels with me although it's been a while since her last trip. So she's very spoiled and the biggest spoil is yet to come.

    17. My pukipuki Joy, she is my favorite and its relative easy to find things for her, so I spoil her a lot

    18. I dont spoil a single doll, but my yosds have waaay more outfits than my msds, But that is partly cause the msds have unique parts that make getting clothes harder. one has a 3rd arm and none of them can share cloths cause proportions are different, while my yosds all have the same body type >>)

    19. Depends on your definition of spoiling....

My first doll is getting the most wigs, one of them very expensive, shoes and props. Also I sew the most for her.

My second doll, a boy, gets the most clothes store-bought, because I don't know how to sew for him. He's also the only one to have an artist faceup.

My third doll, who just came to me, already has an expensive wig and I am eyeing an outfit for her that could be the most expensive of my collection...

Yeah, I don't spend much on my clothes either. XD These days, everything goes to them.

    20. Hmmm... I have dolls I like to sew for more than others - The boys are the "poor relations" when it comes to clothing choices because I prefer to sew for the girls, and some of the girls inspirre me to sew for them more than others.

I don't really feel guilty about any of that though - if I saw more stuff for the boiys that I liked, I'd buy it for them, I've commissioned Victorian style Norfolk suits for three of them, so it's not like they're completely left out, or anything. I think the girls I'm more inspired to sew for are due to various reasons - one, is the only adult among my SD family and she gives me the opportunity to make some of those lovely Victorian styles I'd otherwise have little reason to make (although my middle goddaugher is attending steampunk events so there's been s certain amount of Vicotriana sewing for her), and other dolls have veryspecific tastes in colours and clothing styles that appeals to my creative side to want to sew.

Also, I see far more clothing and accessories available to buy that are appropriate for the girls than I do for the boys. There simpky isn 't the range of things available on the market for them, and a lot of what there is, for the boys is just wrong in some way or another
