1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you have trouble sleeping from being too excited in this hobby?

Jun 25, 2015

    1. It's not as bad as it used to be, but when I'm waiting on a doll I can have terrible anxiety dreams about my doll showing up broken, or looking really different from what I expected, or just missing the mailman. Or sometimes I get stressed out about all the beautiful dolls I want and not having enough money to pay for them, especially if they're limitted.

    2. I get a bit that way when I receive shipping notices (like right now!) And I usually get a little hyped up when ordering a new doll, but that's about it.

    3. I always have trouble sleeping so no surprise there. BJD-related it's usually when I'm figuring out whether my current family needs a new member or not. Once the choice is made and the sculpt is chosen and ordered I'm pretty serene until the tracking number gets mailed out. Then I keep stressing and wondering if I made the right choice, unfortunately I've had a few occassions where a bad choice was made.

    4. I've had this so many times... but its a good feeling isn't it? Specially when you know the doll will probably arrive the next day!

    5. I remember having trouble sleeping when i received the shipping notice of my first boy. But i think i enjoyed it, it's not like i couldn't sleep due to depressing, it's from over excitement and it's a wonderful experiment for me XD ~

    6. There's been a couple times I've went to bed long after the sun has come up because I was looking at dolls and doll related items.

    7. Yeah, especially when I've ordered a doll or clothes etc, or just stayed up late looking for them, I'm often too excited about my plans that I can't get proper sleep.

Though sometimes I go to bed and try to fall asleep as soon as possible, thinking stuff like maybe I could sleep two weeks so the waiting time would be a little shorter. :D

    8. Yes, I have felt so anxious/excited about BJDs to the point where it was difficult to sleep. Once when I was trying to figure out how to get a Migidoll Miho, and it also happened when I was waiting for the shipping notice on my Soom Hyperon.

    9. Sure,I was too excited to fall asleep, for a long time I hugged my doll just laying on my bed.

    10. Normally I don't have trouble sleeping, except I did last night. My Fairyland order for 2 dolls was due to arrive yesterday and it didn't come. So I checked the tracking number and it said it couldn't be delivered because of the address being wrong. I contacted UPS and fixed the address, but I was worried about it getting delivered today, so I woke up at 5:30 this morning and had to check the tracking number again and was relieved to see that it was out for delivery. I got my little Pukifee and Realfee today and am thrilled with them.

    11. I have trouble sleeping because of this hobby right now... But rather than it being from excitement it's because I'm unable to pay for my layaways due to our country suspending all our bank accounts via capital controls... Not even PayPal lets us receive money at this point... much less send any out of the country border and all online services aren't directly available to us... This is just way horrible and stressful enough to make me want to vomit.

    12. Soenatte, that really sounds like a horrendous nightmare, especially because the situation is completely out of your control. I really hope that it gets resolved soon. I am so sorry that is happening to you and everyone in Greece.

In reference to the first post, I usually have troubles sleeping (not hobby related), but for some reason looking at the pictures of the dolls I have purchased online or look for something I may want to purchase in the future, gives me a sense of calm and sometimes helps me sleep. I am not sure how it is going to be when they are finally on there way, maybe I will lose some sleep due to excitement.

    13. Yus, I do ;w; now, in fact. I'm checking the dates when will my check be encashed so I can order a body for my floating head.

    14. Yes, at the day when i have enough money to get my dream doll, i am so excited and cannot sleep

    15. not even once. While i enjoy my dolly and look forward to the dolls I hope to order soon, i've never lost sleep over it, nor do i think i ever will...

    16. I get a little nervous when my doll is being sent because I worry about if they get lost or damaged. But I think it's normal to worry like that. But I think I am more anxious than excited. When I see the box though at my door then the excitement sets in.

    17. Actually today haha. I am a third shift worker and I actually bought my first doll...in years today. I was so excited looking up looks and wigs that I just couldn't fall asleep! :)

    18. All the time! Mostly because I have so many ideas and plans romping through my brain. I have the broken doll anxiety dreams, too, and once I had a really strange one where what arrived was a horribly damaged container of dirty random BJD parts and a giant heavily crazed antique composition baby doll head rolling around in a filthy box instead of my Ringdoll.

    19. What a horrible nightmare, Lighthouse Asylum! *_*

I have problems to sleep sometimes, fortunately not very often. Most often sleeping problems happen when I'm too excited planning what to buy or sew for my doll or planning future doll purchases.

    20. Its 2 a.m. where i am....yep. I have a slight reasoning behind me still being awake along with me being excited for my doll who is suppose to arrive today. I have cronic insomnia but i have sleeping pills that help but i also have a job that i don't get home from until about 12 a.m. but when im thinking about my incoming resinsoul mei i cant sleep. I also like to look up clothes while no one is there to mess with me(we have kids running around the house and if i dare have my doll websites on the want to look at it)
