Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Do you hug your Dolls when you are upset/lonely?

Nov 1, 2010

1. wow this topic is very popular and im going to add my opinion if thats ok with anyone who reads this:
i dont think resin/dolls are the best things to hug vs teddy bears and soft toys. When im upset (im not very childlike anymore since working) i just post depressive messages on facebook. But in the sense of addictiveness my dolls are always in the back of my mind and i love just touching or staring at them in their awesome outfits and poses~

2. I still get my favourite childhood soft toy down off the shelf when I'm upset. ...Looking at the state of it, it's probably a good thing I don't turn to my dolls!

3. When i first got my doll, i was afraid to hold her too much because i thought i would break her, or her makeup would smudge, but one day i hugged her and it was like a real person! Only much smaller haha.
So yes, it made me feel better.

4. I am more likely to cuddle my dolls when I am in a good mood, actually.

5. I really don't hug my dolls but sometimes if I'm sad they do lay down on my bed with me to help me feel better :)

6. I really wonder how it is to hug a doll, they are so hard and pointy... Imagine the faceup being damaged by such rough hugs.

I dunno, the only doll that seems half-huggable to me is obitsu 60cm, they are made of vinyl and all softy.

Dunno really.

7. Surely I huggle and snuggle them... >__> all the time! I think they deserve to be loved as much as I do... I also babble random stuff to them... I'm a loner hahahh!

@Haseshi, It's not like I would rub them on my oily face... I hug/caress them gently and with the highest respect. They are dolls after all. Tho I sometimes kiss their head < u > Dry neat smacks~~♥ So it doesn't harm the faceup ^ ^

8. i hold my Julian when i'm mad, upset, frustrated, and he calms me down in no time at all...and when i'm in a really good mood i hold him and he celebrates along with me...

9. i hug mine too. then i will change the clothes and talk to her the whole time, and im able to get thngs off my chest. I wouldnt dare tell a non doll lover this. They would think that i was crazy!

10. Guilty. At the moment, I'm cuddling with Caleb because I'm upset.

...It's actually helping a lot. I still feel depressed, but I've managed to stop the crying jags for a little while.

11. all the time! Well, every time I am upset and around them.

12. Not only when I am upset or sad, but whenever I feel like it

13. Sometimes I hug my dolls, but I'm more likely to hold hands. The standard left hand on Volks SD13 boys is shaped so that it feels like he's grabbing my finger. Hahaha, it sounds so stupid, but it's kinda comforting.

14. I don't quite hug them, since my girls are tiny, and only one is really big enough to "hug" awkwardly. XD

But yes, I do go to my dolls for comfort. I find something so relaxing about holding them and having them sit in my hand or on my lap and just having them there to keep me company.

15. I don't know if I'd physically "hug" my dolls, but I do hold them and stroke their hair and pose/look at them. That is definitely comforting.

I also like to have them with me where ever I am in the house. Like right now Jessalyn is sitting by me on the couch, watching me. :)

16. I don't hug them but I do enjoy having my dolls near me when I'm not feeling well.

17. I think if I had an SD I would hug that but since my girls are all minis, I will hold them in my arms or place them near me if I'm feeling bad. Just having them nearby is a comfort.

18. yes, their the only thing that comforts me at this point
and when i look at them i just can't help but to smile.
i love my dolls to death and couldn't live without them.

19. Well right now i'm in a very stressful, depressing situation and my doll isn't even here but i've really wished and wanted her to be cause I know it would comfort me a little.

20. If I'm in a bad mood I might pick him off the shelf and start redressing him to 'vent' my frustration without being violent or destructive. Or just talk to calm myself down, that is usually not directed to him per say, but seeing a pair of eyes look at you while you rant has a calming effect, it gives the illusion of someone listening to you.
