Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Do you hug your Dolls when you are upset/lonely?

Nov 1, 2010

    1. When I'm feeling sad, lonely, upset or stressed, I cuddle my dog. She is real and responsive, so she's a much better comfort to me when I'm feeling bad than my inanimate dolls could ever be. That having been said, I do hug my dolls or carry them around. I just happen to like doing it because it makes me feel connected to them and I enjoy having them around.

    2. Yes, sometimes... and I feel really conforted!

    3. I do hug my dolls, it makes me feel better and less lonely. And often times they work with me better afterwards. I will also watch movies with them, or while I'm drawing I'll have someone with me to keep me company.

    4. Definately. If I've had a bad day, ill usually hold Tetsuya for a bit and cuddle with him until I feel better. I don't hug him as much when I'm crying though, in the off chance my tears might mess up his face up

    5. Yes I hug Mayumi when ever I am upset - some how just holding on to her or having her close to me always makes me feel a little better. My parents went on holiday and my boyfriend went on a trip with a friend, am not good at been left in the house alone, when I got home from work yesterday I went straight to my room and grabbed Mayumi- gave her a hug. I then carried her around in the crook of my arm for the rest of the day. Right at this moment she is sat on my desk while I am on the computer

    6. I love cuddling with my dolls, and hugging them usually makes me feel a bit better. ^^

    7. I think I like hugging my Aqua in general, I look at him and am overwhelmed by his cuteness so i can't help but have to hug him. Though I do also hold him close when I'm mad he helps me calm down and holding him just makes me feel better.

    8. Sometimes though not really because I am upset. Playing with dolls will help when I am not well or feel down but if I am really upset I take some time with mine furball. She comes and sits by me and I get plenty of love and kisses from her. As much as I love my dolls they can't help me nearly as much in that situation as my cat.

    9. Yes I do this all the time. My Lyric is my sick buddy. He stayed in bed with me for three months when I was deathly ill.
He always cheers me up. I have a few others I will hug or hold when I am down or lonely and I try to rotate who I watch movies with, but one is always with me for that. I just feel better when I am around them and I dont care how old I get, itll always be that way.

    10. If the cats aren't around I'll hug my doll. Like if I take my doll somewhere and get to feeling lonely or affectionate I'll give her a squeeze. I honestly prefer to hug a cat, though. They don't have pointy hands and feet :)

    11. yes I do, they make me feel better. they also help calm my anxiety down, so I will be taking either kitty or riley with me if I ever manage to leave my house again.

    12. I just got in my first doll recently he's and msd and although i don't really cuddle him per say I've found that i really enjoy carrying him around with me. Having him with me kind of gives me someone to interact with since i really dislike being by myself. Also i'll find myself fiddling with his hands or his feet and its just kind of calming with how cool his resin feels.

Sorry if I'm bothering you but I just wanted to say I've gone through the same thing. My Dad and I aren't really on the best of terms but the BJD hobby has really helped me by providing something positive to counteract the negativity.

    13. Yes, and I just like to hang out with them or have them around ~ right now as I browse DoA, Volka is lying next to me on my bed x3 I find my dollies to be a great comfort.

    14. No. I don't ever hug my dolls, regardless of how I am feeling. I don't really interact with my dolls emotionally. When I am sad or upset, I hug my bulldog, Daisy. She's warm and squishy and she really likes hugs. She's very loving and responsive, and when I am sad she does her best to cheer me up.

    15. I have only one doll that I prefer to hug when upset or sick, and that's Ryuichi, the doll in my icon pic. (old pic is OLD!) He's my "first."

Here is a newer pic of Ryuichi cosplaying as Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece. :) Please excuse the bad wig he's wearing in this pic. He does has a newer wig that I made. He's also wearing the very first cosplay I ever made him, way back in 2008.

    16. I often do this, I remember one time that I was really upset with my Mom since we had an argument, I ran into my room and hug my dolls. I just felt so much better <3

    17. I just kinda sit there and look at them for a while. I'm not really a touchy feely person. Having something to focus on with my eyes to keep my thoughts from wandering is enough to settle me down, though.

    18. I can't say I have. It is nice having the doll close while I'm either working on something for her or if I'm on my laptop though.

    19. Yess, i thought i was the only one. Though my doll pokes me when i hug her so i dont do it for too long D:

    20. I know how you feel. My girl will be here today and i have a space cleared out for her. I have really bad anxiety and depression. I already have an emotional support dog but now emotional support doll?
