Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Do you hug your Dolls when you are upset/lonely?

Nov 1, 2010

    1. When I still had my SD13 boy I do cuddle him and sit him in my lap to hold when I'm feeling down. Now without my big boy I don't, because it's kind of hard to hug my 16cm tiny... which is kind of sad :(

    2. No
      1. It's not comfortable. Doll is small, solid and fragile.

      2. I can't feel empathy from thing. I'm a skeptic.

      3. In the end, I'm more cold-blooded than an emotional person.

    3. I do. I generally go for Azrael because he was my first and his character is probably one of my favourite OCs.

    4. Yes, I do.
I usually take Nelliel (my Yo-SD) from the glass cabinet and hug and cuddle her for some time, then I sit her in my desk and caress her from time to time.
For me it help a lot, is like I can transfer some of my bad feelings to her and she disipates them with her big smile.
I sort of believe in energies and how a person can transfer energy, feelings and other emotions to other people or even to things.

    5. I usually hug when I'm thinking "OMG LOOK HOW CUTE YOU ARE AH". But when I'm lonely, and most of my friends are occupied. I'll just set him up at my desk and look at him now and then while working. Makes me feel a little less lonely when doing so. Then it also reminds me I'm behind on my plans for him.

    6. I hug my dolls frequently regardless of my mood haha! They're so lovely and basically like my children so it's nice..

    7. Yeah!! I go to college 1000 miles away from my house and kitties, so my dolls kind of end up being my cat-substitute when I'm stressed. :sweat And like a lot of people, I also hug them just when I'm overwhelmed by how cute they are! I try not to hug them when my roommate can see, though, I'm trying to keep my remaining shreds of dignity intact.

    8. I don't know if I "hug" them so much as I want to hold one or play with their hands or pet them when I'm upset or lonely or just in a down mood. I don't want to be around flesh people when I'm feeling like that (even lonely), and I never want hugs from other people, but I do need a tactile thing to worry or handle, and dolls have been my go-to since I was a tiny child. No point in breaking that habit now at my age. ;)

    9. I don't hug them when I'm upset.. But I do hug them whenever I change their outfits or when I catch them looking super adorable. If that makes sense?

    10. My dolls are much too small for hugging comfortably. But I do have giant sized stuffed animals that work well instead.

    11. I hold them and cuddle with them from time to time. Sometimes I sit one up right by me while I'm watching a movie.

    12. I don't hug my doll, that's reserved for cats, plushes, and my girlfriend. I do like holding my doll, it is a great pick me up!

    13. No... That's my cat's job.

    14. I hug on my SDs a bit sometimes, but stuffed animals are about the house, on various sofas. They double and cushions, but are also there for anyone who needs a fuzzy thing to hug. My dolls are more hugable when they're dressed in layers of lace and such :)

    15. I do not hug or cuddle my dolls, but when I get stressed out, upset or anxious, I DO fiddle with them. Last night I wasn't feeling well & was worried, so my girls got their wigs changed & repositioned for about 20 minutes. For some reason, that's always what works for me. I spend too much time ensuring wigs look just right & clothes fit just so-- I'd hate to mess that up with hugs.

Like the two PPs said, I have a cat & stuffed animals for me to squeeze the heck out of.

    16. I don't hug them but I do bring them downstairs to sit with me!

    17. Ofcourse! All the time. I hug them and talk to them and sometimes cuddle them in bed and feel so conforted and not alone.

    18. Certainly do when times are a bit rough

    19. Heheh I hug mine even when I'm not feeling down! It feels nice having her in my lap.

    20. Yes, definitely! Though I feel hugging MSD feels my dolls are bit small...
