1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you hug your Dolls when you are upset/lonely?

Nov 1, 2010

    1. That's why you need at least one SD! :kitty1

    2. No, I don't hug them when I'm sad, but I do hug them and kiss them on their forhead occasionally, because they are so super cute and adorable ^o^ <3

    3. I second that. It's one of the reasons I'm so excited to be expecting a body for one of my big guys soon too. I miss having a substantial doll to hold! That being said... yes, I do hug my dolls a lot. It's infinitely comforting to me. Whenever I'm down or something bad happens I find a lot of solace doing so, so I don't mind admitting to it at all.

    4. yes :) while waiting for nicky's head to come home i would hug/hold his headless body in my lap. the weight is very very soothing—like a pet but less squirmy and allergen-free! of course now it is much nicer to hold a complete dolly ♡

    5. Make sure that you have nothing like lip balm or lipstick on your lips when you kiss their forehead. Any oils that may be in it, or even from your lips could react with the sealant and take it off in that spot!

Its safer to kiss them on their wigs. :3nodding: I've kissed my Crew on the tops of their heads for years while wearing lip balm, and they're all fine. :XD:

    6. Hehehe, yes you might be right, better be careful :) But since I am a male I don't use lipstick, and I never use lip balm either, so I hope I'm not damaging them when I hug them and kiss them. They just so astonishing adorable and beautiful, I can't help my self :dance I want to squeeze them too, but I manage to controll myself, at least for now :3nodding:

    7. If I didn't use something on my lips, they'd end up with bloody lip prints in their wigs.

I don't use lipstick either, for similar reasons. ;)

And I agree, my Crew deserve to be kissed, even if I have to do it on the tops of their heads/wigs. :D

    8. I hug each of my dolls on different occasions. When I was sad over school or something related to my chosen field, I hug my alchemist boy because he's closest to that "theme." When I'm feeling worthless, I go for my girl. If I'm feeling small and powerless, I hug my biggest boy. Lastly, if I just want some support, then I grab my first boy.

    9. I think that hugging anything, especially things we care for, is calming and comforting. I've hugged my dolls on occasion, but I have a teddy rabbit and a build-a-bear Rainbow Dash and most recently a plush swan chick (like the Ugly Duckling) that I hug when I feel sad or upset. And I'm an adult, with a live-in partner, with no fetish for neither plushies nor dolls, as I'm sure "normal" adults would suggest. I just feel sorry for people so caught up in their adultness that they ignore what could be called the inner child... Isn't the "inner child" just a part of us, not one that we have to leave behind come puberty?

    10. I totally do! It really helps me to hug my dolls when I'm feeling really down or depressed. Just having them close helps me calm down and feel less alone. I usually have one in soft clothes so they feel really good to cuddle with. :)

    11. I hadn't thought of hugging them. But maybe I should. It weird me out sometimes that certain ones have a head dimension of a baby... So it feels... Uhhmm... Familiar... It's an odd feeling.

    12. No, not really, when I am upset, I go scoop up my cat and snuggle him ...until he gets tired of me and wriggles away.

    13. No, I don't hug my dolls when I am upset/etc. For me, they don't provide the comfort that I'm seeking.

    14. Can't say I hug them but I do sit them on my lap or have them on my desk/bed while I work when I'm not in the best mood. Nothing is better than having a buddy with me

    15. Wah! I thought I was alone in this! I always used to hug my SD dolls whenever I felt depressed or lonely, would help me a lot!

    16. My dolls always make me feel better whenever I am sad <3 just looking at them lifts my spirits ^__^

    17. All the time! I don't know why but they bring me comfort especially my sd's

    18. Never even considered it. Resin isn't exactly cushy, and his wig likes to pop off at the slightest provocation. Never hugged my barbies either when I was a kid - I make sure to have cats, pillows, and people around for when I need a hug. Though looking at my collection always makes me feel better during crappy times! :)

    19. Yes, I love to hug Serenade during those times. I've been doing it a lot lately, actually, because my husband has been away for army training and I live in Florida, and it is now storm season. Thunderstorms occur out here almost daily around this time, and they really frighten me. Since I can't turn to my husband right now, my go-to for comfort is a blanket, some music, and Serenade.

    20. Yeah... Whenever I get upset or anxious, I always kinda sit in the corner and hug my boy. Thank god I'm not the only one.
