1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you hug your Dolls when you are upset/lonely?

Nov 1, 2010

    1. Generally I leave the hugging instinct for squishy things, like pillows and my mom n-n;; Instead, I play with my dolls when I'm upset, brush their hair or fuss with their clothes. The action of showing them care usually calms me down and makes me feel better.

    2. All the time. My Monster High girl Antimony (cause I don't have any BJDs yet :P) gets TONS of hugs. My husband was recently diagnosed with brain cancer, so I need them, and she's happy to oblige. Sweetest vampire ever. :)

    3. When I get ready to put them away, I give them a kiss on the top of their head! I don't recall hugging........

    4. I hug mine sometimes. The other day I was reading the Supernatural Doll Stories thread and I felt the need to hug them all and tell them I would love them even if they were creepy an possessed. xD

    5. It depends on the situation, but yes, I do sometimes. Though unless it's something relatively "big" or "serious" that has made me upset or vulnerable, I'm more likely to just fuss over my boy's wig or play with him.

    6. I tend to hug them or stroke them more when I'm physically hurt rather than emotionally upset.

    7. I'll play with my girl more when I'm isolated from my friends, or if I just feel lonely in general. I'll hug her and carry her around with me for entire weeks. (during the day that is)

    8. I have to say I used to hold Kotori when I got upset. I havent ever since I got more dolls cause I felt like I
would be throwing negative energy into these dolls- and I really dont need excess negative energy. =P

    9. I like to hold them or style their hair a bit or something when I'm upset, but I don't really hug them.

    10. No.

I do it without any prompt from lonely or sad emotions. I like huggin' me some dolls. :D

    11. Yep, all the time, but especially when I'm lonely. It's comforting <3

    12. Yes, I do (at the moment my off-topic self-modelled BJD). I love the feeling. I am sure I will also do this with my Granado/Leeke hybrid.

    13. I'm actually curled up clutching my DZ Mini right now, watching standup comedy on Netflix and trying to lift my spirits after an emotional roller coaster of a day.My dolls definitely get hugs when I'm upset, especially when my boyfriend isn't around or isn't feeling like being touched so won't give me cuddles. It cheers me up, and gives me the "human" contact I need, that is to say the contact with something that has a human face and a "personality".

    14. Yes, when I'm sad or upset (or both) I hug them ! But if I'm not, I just kiss them.
Hug my dolls really makes me feel better~

    15. Only the SD-sized one. She feels so solid and soft to the touch that this is really comforting ^__^;

    16. I haven't been really upset or lonely after I my girl came home but if I were I certainly would! I hug her sometimes when she just looks too adorable. :D

    17. I play with them or talk to them, but not hug them. All my boys are SDs but they're still too small to be hugged "comfortably" in my own opinion. I would prefer to hug my pillow or teddy bear...

    18. At times, I do. But I would try to avoid myself from doing that because I would prefer myself to hang out with real people more, for the sake of my own sanity.

Of course, it may be due to I have only MSDs for now. When my SDs arrive, I would probably enjoy hugging them more (being bigger in size so it fits my arms better).

    19. Kinda? I tend to kind of hug them close when I'm talking about them. Especially Skylar! She's just so cute and pouty X3 Though I do grab my oldest doll, Zoey, when I'm feeling sick, she's comforting to have around~

    20. I like hugging her yeah. And talking to her. Sometimes I just plop her on my lap while I'm on the computer or watch TV. I feel like I want to include her. I totally personify my doll. :)
