1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you hug your Dolls when you are upset/lonely?

Nov 1, 2010

    1. When I'm feeling lonely or sad, I start petting Anathema's hair if I'm anywhere near her. But I don't hug her because her wig might fall off! And it's just such a pain to put it back on.

    2. I actually think I have never hugged a doll, something about it does not appeal to me, something cold and hard I wouldnt find comfort in to hug, but I love how others can take comfort in their dolls.

I tend to hug humans and pets instead :)

    3. I hug my dolls a lot, and I give each of them a hug when I put them back into their boxes after working on them, photographing them, etc. I don't really know why, just something I've always done.

    4. I'm always cuddling my dolls and I love to have one near me if I'm doing anything such as ironing and cooking (what an exciting life I have). If I'm watching TV I'll definitely have one snuggling up to me.

    5. Yes :) Well, I prefer to have a doll sat on my lap rather than hug them. I find that their weight is a comforting presence :)

    6. I actually don't hug mine when I'm upset, I stroke his hair, though.

    7. Just the site of my dolls brings me instant comfort. I don't really hug them though. I do hug them when I first take them outta the box and hold them for the first time. Sort of a welcome to the family hug.

    8. I don't really hug them, because they're hard and have a few kinda pointy edge xD But I hold them like if I was carrying them and I put my head on theirs. and sob. and pet their hair.
or sometimes I play with their hands. I love SD hands, so small compared to mine. they can about only hold my thumb, so cute x3

    9. I don't think that I've ever hugged any of my dolls, but I know that if I'm stressed, if I can just set aside quarter of an hour to look at them, change their clothes, tidy their hairm, etc. then a lot of that stress just melts away. :)

    10. Cuddling with Kiddo always makes me feel better. I've also discovered that propping my head up on top of his helps when I'm having a migraine. His height is perfect for relaxing the tension in my neck and he isn't mushy like a pillow.

    11. no, but I have caught myself talking to one of them.

    12. I don't really hug mine either. I sit with them and hold them, but if I'm upset and want something to cuddle, I go for my big stuffed monkey plush that Boyfriend got for me. It's soft and easy to snuggle.

    13. I like to hold my dolls when i'm upset...they're comforting. I'm frightened of storms since our house has flooded twice so when it rains heavy i sometimes get one down to hold, usually Quinn because he's always been my comfort character even before i had him in doll form.

    14. I found comfort in dolls they make me happy, there go without saying for my family too, but sometime I just want to be let alone and/or have some me time.

    15. Yes. And when I am really really depressed I Will wrap one in a blanket and put next to me in bed to sleep

    16. This last semester at school was the first semester that I had my doll. I was quite stressed (a few stress induced panic attacks actually). There were several times where I just pulled out Set to have him there, cuddle into the crook of my elbow as you can do with a tiny and just let myself relax in him. It was perfect, I was so glad I brought him to have another source of quiet comfort.

Its great to have something that makes you smile like that when you really need to.

    17. When I'm having a bad day, sometimes I bring one of my boys with me in my bag. Just having them there with me makes me feel a bit better. (:

    18. I have a protector character he's a DOT ELF SHA that i named Juilian and I usually hug on him, sometimes I hug on my DZ X Yoshi too because he is a hugger. It makes me feel more at ease. More comfortable...I don't get so upset knowing that they are right there and I can hold them.

    19. I did this a few times but it doesn't work. Just "playing" with them helps (sewing clothes, photographing and so on)

    20. I usually cuddle my doll Lucien when I get upset/sad. I am not sure why it conforts me to an extent, but it does. I guess it's nice to cuddle something that won't ask questions ^^;
