1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you include your floating heads in your doll count?

Jan 6, 2012

    1. I do. I have 2 heads for which I have made cloth bodies and I sew on spare hands and feet that my other dolls came with. So they're composite and both of them are fully dressed. I don't know when I'll get them bodies, but whether it's in the next month, or never, they look like dolls and I treat them as such.

    2. I don't count floating heads in the doll count unless I'm actively searching and prepared to buy their body.

    3. I tell people "I have four complete dolls and six floating heads that live in The Headbasket that are waiting for bodies."

So I guess I count them for the most part, since they all have backstories. :)

    4. Hmm.. I can't say I count the floating heads as one doll. But rather like Ryuichi-san above, I have one doll and a floating head.

    5. Hmm, I count my floating head, but that's because she has her face up done, her own eyes and wig, and an outfit picked up for her. Really just need to get her her own body (though she is sharing one right now). If she was a blank head still with nothing else, I don't think I would count her.

    6. I'd never given this much thought before. I always just automatically count only the heads with bodies, but I would mention the floating head count if someone was asking what specific dolls I own.

    7. I might count them as characters, but I can't count them as dolls yet because, well, they aren't. It doesn't mean I can't bond with them, since I intend to get all of them bodies sooner or later, and the head is the most important part of the doll for me.

      The distinction between dolls/heads probably matters more for people with a larger collection than me, though. ^^;

    8. Currently I don't count the floating heads/faceplate's, some of them do have names though.

    9. I include Moz in my count (though I sometimes refer to him as a '.5'), because he does have a personality/character (actually, a character who's spent some time as a living severed head). But, I recently made the decision to buy a larger doll who looks more like his character instead of just buying him a body, and I honestly don't know if I will still count the head after his character is reshelled...

    10. I only count them in my Flickr galleries where all my dolls and heads are listed with name and number. But when I'm talking about my collection to other people, I just count my dolls.

    11. Well, I do include, cos if a head is home, I start thinking of makeups, bodies, making plans of what i want to see. So, one day it becomes a whole doll :)

    12. No, not until I get a body for it.

I don't count my faceplates as dolls, either; otherwise I'd be listing 4 Unoas and 2 Pisce in my sig instead of just 1 each! ;)

    13. LOL good point!

Yea I don't count them too unless I have a plan to get them a body (so they are considered part of the family too when the plan starts.)

    14. I do count them but it's really up to you!

    15. yes and no. I will say I have five dolls and one is "sans body for now" since he has a name, a character and a clear plan for his future self..but not the funds to make it happen yet. Meanwhile the poor dear is going to suffer my experiements in faceups conducted in my dungeo....err, craft room.

    16. I have one doll head and I count him because he has a developed character, I just have no money to buy a body >.<

    17. I don't really, I usually just say I have x amount of dolls + a head. In general though, I don't usually count it.

    18. I forgot I even have a floating head stashed in my closet until I saw this thread. So, no. I don't count them. = /

    19. I don't count them untill they have a body. And if the two heads of my getting a joint body to share, for me it will be as one doll.

    20. The heads I count belong to one character who is a shape shifter so I include them under his name in any count.
