1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you keep clothes or eventually sell them?

May 19, 2019

    1. Its rare for me to sell any doll clothes I tend to keep them all unless I buy something that doesnt fit any of mine then it's no use keeping it.
I have so many clothes that are older than 10 years but I now I tend to avoid anything that's fake leather after seeing how it goes unless it's for a cheap price.

    2. Also, most of my clothes are separates so I can make different outfits. If I was dressing them in super cute dresses that were very unique, I'd probably just want to photograph them and send them on for someone else to appreciate.

    3. I just keep them but I would love to go through the inventory and sort neatly them one day, so each outfit would be 100% fitting for each of my dolls’ styles.

    4. I hoard them but I really need to go through them properly as I have so many clothes I got over either from buying or given as gifts with other purchases over the years but not a lot of them fit really my dolls aesthetic as I would like… it probably doesn’t help that a lot of them also don’t fit the majority of dolls I have since I got a lot them when I started in the hobby and only had 60cm dolls and now I mainly have 70cm+ guys … I am also at the point where I often find random dolly clothes around the house :XD:

    5. I'm not keeping all. I usually sell the item that I'm not using. Not only doll clothes, but sometime my (human) clothes too. :XD:

It just like, even if they not suit you, they might fit someone else right?

If it's a bit valuable item (in my opinion), I'll make a sale post. If it's less valuable item I'll bring them to a secondhand shop in my local. (in my case it's dollyteria)They won't give much, I've got around $70 for 10wigs I believe. But it's better than keeping what you not use, those might shine in other's hand.

My doll still have many clothes though, at least 10 sets for some girls. Since I'm on the side of less dolls(Only 4 now), but many clothes :sweat

    6. I have a hard enough time finding clothes for my dolls, that I tend to keep everything I get. Many times this has come in handy when a new doll arrives. Besides, I hate selling stuff; I never know what to price things at.

    7. For now I'm focusing solely on sewing more and more new clothes, so photography is out. Then, I plan to take many pictures and, indeed, sell away some of the clothes after they're worn about 2-4 times, depending on how much I like them. I sometimes get attached to some pieces ;)) And some of the clothes I've made now I plan to keep for as long as I have my dolls generally.

    8. I kept mostly everything cuz it gives me such a headache tryna to find where everything is x plus I love mix matching sets together, I doubt if I remember which part is from which set. Let’s not cause any trouble :eusa_naug

    9. Most of my dolls have set characters and I work to build up a somewhat complete warderobe for each of them. I make most of the stuff myself. Usually, when something is done it's what I wanted and it will stay.
I have a secondary warderobe for some of my dolls that includes costumes or things I made for specific photos or events. Those things usually stays as well, I just like having them around and you never know when they come in useful again.

      There are exceptions.
Sometimes I make something just because it's fun to make and then I realize it never gets used. Or I make something and it doesn't work out the way I intended it to, even if the piece itself is sound. Or I get something random as a freebie with a purchase. Things like that only stays until I find someone who can use it. I usually give it away to a friend. Failing that I hold on to it to try it on new dolls in the future.
I rarely bother to sell off used stuff.
