1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you keep your doll in his/her box at night?

Nov 27, 2011

    1. I wish I could leave mine out, but my cats would see them as their playthings, and that would not end well.

    2. I leave my dolls out... I don't even have enough boxes per doll. I have them all set up in my computer/work/living room at the moment (one multifunction room, it's a bit crowded in here), and I have 11 dolls so it would be inconvenient to put them away every night (and I'm pretty lazy). At times I had a couple sitting in my bedroom, and at first it was a bit disconcerting to see a small human silhouette in the window when I woke up in the night, but I got used to it. I'm not superstitious about dolls or scared of them or anything.

I have a cat but he totally has no interest in my dolls. Not even their wigs!

    3. My dolls have an actual 'house' of their own in my living room. It literally takes up a huge chunk of room so I'm having to build a second story. I just have to block its doorway at night so my dogs don't try to go in and sleep on the doll beds (they have done it before haha)

    4. I leave them out. I still cover them up in a way. They're sitting in my bookshelf and the shelf they're on is covered with a small towell.

    5. Mine are also on a bookshelf. It is in a corner away from everything, so I don't cover them up. I don't have anything against people who put them in boxes. If anything, I am a little envious of the dillegence, regardless of the reason. Anytime I work in the basement, I take on with me (lame, I know) and I think I am just too lazy to make the effort to put them in their boxes every night.

    6. I don't have any problem with whether people box them up or leave them out.

For myself I keep mine out. They all have sculpts and face-ups with a gentle, friendly smile so it's nice to see them if i wake up in the middle of the night.

    7. Only 'boxed' barbies live out in the open... my new boy... uh no same deal doll+cats(2)= not a snowballs chance in h**l. If I can aford to custom and acrylic case for him sitting.... (will need chair too><) maybe on my dresser. ... maybe... even sitting he may not fit there with the shelf above -_-... Anyone know how to 'catproof' a doll space???

    8. anyone else want to see that???? SS42 if you see this pics would be fantastic ^^. the house? the idea sounds awsome. I'd kill to take an axe to a built in wall unit(deeply recessed) and rebuild one that had a decent (protected) doll section.

    9. Well, odd think is mine "sleep" in there boxes all the time. I do not want them to get scratched or hurt.

    10. I leave most of my dolls out at night. I feel that dolls are meant to be enjoyed and displayed. I have them in specific rooms that are very dark with little to no natural light. But, these are the dolls that I love and I am sure I will keep for a long time. I have other dolls that are either do not fit with the other dolls or do not have a complete outfit on or I plan on selling sometime in the future. These dolls are kept in their original boxes and are stacked in my closet or in a storage room.

    11. I keep my dolls mainly in her box since I'm scared of her yellowing :(

    12. I am keeping mine in the box for now, until I can get a room made in the correct scale...

    13. Dolls are one of the few things that don't creep me out at night xD

I am terribly afraid of strange noises, shadows, monsters under the bed, etc. In fact, now that I think about it, it's a miracle that my dolls don't scare me. They stay out on display at all times.

    14. I leave my dolls in their boxes during the day and only play with them at night so that they don't yellow as fast. But I put them back in their boxes when I sleep because I like to keep things in order and that's where they belong xD

    15. I don't leave my boy in his box. I leave him either sitting on a hat box on my coffee table in my room surrounded by my OT vinyl's. My room doesn't get a lot of sun in the morning if at all so it's not much of a worry of if he'll get hit by it.

    16. I do because right now I don't have a room that my cats can't get into except for my bathroom. ^^;
So for now my Isaac sleeps in his box at night and when I'm not home. :kitty2

    17. They take turns being in and out of boxes, but it's not really a night and day schedule. The ones who are out get covered up with thick fabric if I need more light in the room.

    18. I keep them in a china cabinet, so that's where they sleep. It has a large drawer at the bottom, but I can't fit all of them in the drawer together anymore (2 Iplehouse SIDs = full drawer.) Soon they're going to overtake the rest of the china cabinet, I just know it.

    19. Yes! And I feel bad for it to be honest! If I had a choice, I'd probably leave her out, but unfortunately my house is 85% windows and I'd rather not risk any yellowing. I know it's inevitable anyway, but I'd rather not speed up the process, haha! When the sun goes down I do leave her to sit on my nightstand until I go to bed out of pity for leaving her in her box all through out the day.

    20. I don't put them away in their boxes at night, or ever. The newer resins get wrapped in their pillows and put under a blanket during the day to protect them from the sun. The off-topics and older resins who are already yellowed in the extreme stay out all day and night.
