1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you keep your doll in his/her box at night?

Nov 27, 2011

    1. As there is nowhere in my apartment to display dolls where they can't easily get knocked over, I really don't have any other choice but to store them in boxes, or an alternative :(

    2. Last year I bought the decoration cabinet for my dolls. I like to display them in the a glass-fronted cabinet.
Whenever I walk up and down the room, I like to throw my glance on them and check whehter there is any problem.

    3. I do not keep mine in their boxes. I keep them on a book case in my room, which is darkened by black curtains :)

I have other dolls as well (scary dolls) and they sit in between them

    4. My dolls sit on a cabinet in my living room. But I have a very dark house, as my son (and myself to some extent) is very light sensitive.

    5. I do. Mostly because I really don't have that much space to display them and just to keep them from getting damaged. I walk around at night without turning the lights on at night.

    6. I always do - there's no other room to put him, and I'm afraid if I leave him sitting or standing somewhere, my cat might knock him down in the middle of the night. Although sometimes during the day he'll sit on my desk with me, and I'll forget to put him back in his box when I go to bed orz

    7. I have my dolls out all the time, which is really bad.. But I love seing their little faces throughout the day and just the thought of them laying a box makes me kinda sad. And weird ^^

    8. I always have mine out, on their own shelf only for them :3 (although it's getting kind of crowded now that I'm getting more dolls xD) It would be a pain to put them all into boxes, and I would have to de-string Nathaniel every time D: I also don't have any pets right now that could knock them over, so I feel it's fine :3 And I can't see them when laying in my bed, because my cover is so floofy xD (However, I assume when I move so I live alone, and can get cats, I will buy a glass cabinet/bookshelf so they can be there without being knocked over, and I hope that I will have enough rooms to have that cabinet/bookshelf in a living room ^^)

About caring about whether people put their dolls in boxes or not? I have no problem whatsoever with that! It's your choice and stuff :D I just really can't spare the energy or the space in my tiny room, so ^^

    9. I used to, and sometimes still do.
But I like to sit her on my shelf by where I sleep.
But in daylight, I keep them in their boxes

    10. My doll sits on a low table with my sister's dolls downstairs in the living room. I don't even own her arrival boxes any more. Other people can do whatever they like with their dolls, makes no difference to me.

    11. I never put mine in their boxes. I love seeing them all the time, one of the reasons I have dolls. During the day when I'm at work or school, my room is really dark because the window is well covered. From reading other people's posts, I can also understand good reasons for putting them away.

    12. Yes I keep my doll in his box at night, but it's just because I'm affraid that stuff could happen during the night if I let him on the shelf lol

    13. I put my boy back in his box at night for two reasons. The first being that I feel awkward just having him out all night. I mean, he just sits there out and alone with nothing to do? SO why not put him back in his comfy box to sleep? The second reason is I also have a slight fear of leaving my doll out because it seems a bit creepy. (I've seen too many horror movies involving dolls so... yeah)

    14. A few of my dolls are still in their boxes as I haven't unpacked them since moving in November, but other than that, no. I keep my dolls out and on display - I have wall-to-wall shelves along a hallway that's both dark and separate from the main living area, and that's where most of them live. That way they're safe from the sun and from most activity while still out for me to look at and enjoy.

    15. My doll is sleeping in her bed. :) I'm not scared, but... nights are sometimes weird.

    16. My dolls go into their boxes when I am done with them for the day, mostly to protect them.

    17. I've started to put my doll away overnight to protect him, mostly because I wake up in the afternoon and I am away all day when the sun is up. So if I didn't do that he'd just be sitting alone in the daylight.
      We're both night owls :sweat

    18. I have this book shelf thing behind the head of my bed, and one of the four spaces didn't really have much except for plushies so I moved those with the rest of the plushies and then made a little bed for my girl! This will probably change when I get more dolls though, since it's only big enough for like two MSDs or multiple yo's and tinies...if I get an SD they definitely won't fit in there!

    19. My dolls (which came together) didn't exactly come in a box – I ordered from Impldoll and they came by default in a soft carrier bag that I'm a little afraid to let her stay in because I don't want to damage her face or anything. So, they do stay out. I used to hate having things with eyes in my room (including pictures and posters), but I'm a little more okay with it now. Also Willow has a bit of a dreamy, lost-in-thought look so I guess that helps.

For the other question, I have nothing against people who put their dolls in their boxes. Why would I? Plus, I imagine putting the dolls in their boxes has plenty of other benefits as well, keeps them safe and dust-free and stuff. o vod

    20. Nah, he hangs out on my shelf pretty much all the time. Sometimes I'll lie him down like he's sleeping though.
I don't have a problem with people who put their dolls in boxes at night (or their own little doll bed, that sounds adorable), but I don't see any need to.
